Zakon nods as the others agree to move forward. "Yes, caution is in order. We don't know what's wrong with the boy, and we don't want any of us to end up in the same predicament. Let's be as quiet as possible, aye?" he says, heading off down the path.

Zakonis quickly able to find more traces of the children's passage, spotting and pointing out the remnants of an old road and more of the wooden stars hanging from trees further along it as well. After a bit more debate, they decide to stick together and to follow it. Viayanodding as the gnome suggests the two of them scout ahead. Given they still have no idea what happened to the boy, it's best to be as careful as possible. "Keep a wary eye out." She warns the others, following Zakon as they forage ahead. "We'll let you know if we see anything and you do the same."

Sorry for vanishing yous! Wifi went out at my place last night. ^^'
As they walk, Zakon winces every now and again, knowing that traveling as a group means they aren't as quiet as he would wish. Nothing to be done for it, though, so he walks on, eyes peeled for anything.
Sorry for the delay. I realized that we were moving at a brisk pace and would need our battlemaps soon. So, I rushed to get a little grid paper printed, used the best of my art abilities, and we should be good to go.
Also, Kelvin, you would be doing me a huge favor if the next time you use a spell, please put it in the following format:
[ spell ] Detect Magic [ / spell ] (just be sure to take out the spaces).
This highlights the spell and gives me a quick way to reference the spell and what it does. I'm not picky about people having to use it for ability checks, since I have most of those memorized, but I don't know the whole spellbook, so that format helps me find exactly what I need to find without having to look it up in the spells page.
Theo: Along the way, you do spot a few small bushes with berries on them, Viaya helping you to confirm that they are not poisonous, but the group is moving along briskly. So, there is no time for a more proper look for food or small animals for trapping.
Kelvin:Nothing stands out as having any magical influence. The starbursts have more of a spiritual function rather than a protective one.
Zakon:Taking the lead of the group, you're able to spot the stone building just up ahead. As it turns out, following the old road was much quicker than following the river Vall had. Feeling that you've made progress, you push the group onward.
Group: You emerge from a thicket of briars into a small clearing in front of a crumbling three-story stone building. An overgrown path opens into a clearing containing a pool filled with stagnant water. The path continues up to a large stone door leading into the building, emblazoned with a starburst.
Have fun exploring :) Stealth was not needed for this, but don't worry, you didn't disturb any animals nearby.

“I would feel more comfortable doing some scouting around the building before we just walk up and knock on the door. Who knows what is in there? Let’s not forget, a boy is in a sleep from which he cannot wake, and we don’t know what caused it,” Zakon says. He will begin to move around the building, keeping a safe distance, looking for any other entrances, as well as anything that might seem threatening.
Taking a few tentative steps past the open gate, you get a better look at the building in all its glory. The building sits in an overgrown clearing in the woods. It is three stories high, and covered in vines. The building is squat and functional, and rises to a stone dome. The only markings to be seen are the starbursts on the door, though you can make out a little writing below them. You can tell that the walls and outer doors are made of stone that appears to be crumbling in spots. Aside from the few disturbed leaves in the clearing where Vall must have come through, it looks as though this building has been abandoned for decades. You're also near enough now to smell the awful stench coming from the pool of water. It smells like rotting meat.
Just for practice on my part, I'm going to include a map for this one. Distances are going to be a factor in this bit, but I won't tell you how or where. You should notice that your token has a ring around it that corresponds to your character dialogue. Ruggero, Theo, and Kelvin, apologies. I know the pictures in the tokens do not match with your races. I made them with the original five players, but I did not feel like printing and regluing new tokens. The color rings should be sufficient. Each square is 5 ft. And, I just now realized I need to mark out our grid. So for now, just kind of tell me where you would like to go, and by tomorrow, I'll have it grid-marked so you can tell me exactly where you're going.
Zakon looks back at his companions, talking softly but seriously. “It smells like something died in this fountain. Theo, do you sense anything nearby? Be alert - I don’t like this at all,” Zakon says.
Theo: You hear a light splash in the water, but before you can warn anyone about it, Kelvin has already gone up to investigate. Upon disturbing the water, which is only two-feet deep, a scaled head slithers out and lays out on the edge of the fountain. It is a Giant Poisonous Snake! For now, the serpent has only been disturbed by its slumber, and its sluggish movement suggests that it may not attack unless provoked. It eyes Kelvin warily as he is the nearest one disturbing its residence.
Do you fight the snake or give it a wide berth and go around the fountain?

Zakon’s eyes widen as the giant snake appears. He silently draws his dagger, eying the snake warily. He hisses to Kelvin, “Careful, lad. Never seen a snake that big that was friendly. Perhaps we should give it a wide berth?” He cocks his head as a thought occurs to him. “I wonder if the snake bit the boy? But no, Talos should have been able to cure him if it was simply a bite, even a poisoned one,” he muses.
When they emerge from the trees into the clearing, Viayais immediately taken aback by the size of the building at its center. Eyes drifting over the carved starbursts, the vines. Nose wrinkling as the stench of rotting meat stings her nostrils, the scent not helping the sudden sense of unease sitting in her stomach any. The last time she was near a place like this...the elf pushes the thought away the moment it comes to her. Forcing herself to remember that this is different, to step forward after Zakon. Moving in closer to the building as the gnome begins to loop around and examine it and the others file into the overgrown courtyard with them. Flinches at the splash when Kelvindisturbs the pool of water in the fountain, eyes widening at the size of the snake that rises from the water in response. But while it is large and certainly doesn't seem happy it doesn't attack outright. Viayainclined to agree with giving it a wide berth and going about their business without disturbing it. Though her grip does tighten on the hilt of her rapier a bit. "A snake isn't what we're looking for." She says, nodding to Zakon. "Neither Talos or the boy's father mentioned any sign of a bite and a beast that size would leave more than a mark. It must be something else."Eyes Kelvin and the snake one last time before turning to the building once again. Squinting and moving closer as she tries to make out the words carved under the starbursts on the door.
Viaya speaks Common, Elfish, Gnomish and Sylvan but I can still roll for investigation/perception/what have you if needed.

Theo nods and proceeds cautiously with the rest of the group.Attacking the snake could announce their presence. He easily pushes back the urge to pulverize the beast and sunder the the doors. That urge is not the voice or the will of Helm at least not this time.He does however, take up his shield.
