Doozey slowly but surely comes out the trance, shaking his head towards the end. "Rest sounds nice. Very, very nice. Food too. Nice food." He snickers giddily, and then almost immediately shake his head. Embarrassed, all he can do is stumble over his words for a time before giving up on them entirely to just walk on downstairs. Along the way he notices the blood tipped fingers and red strings, and tries to inconspicuously brush it through his hair, whispering again in the strange tongue. Soon after he does so, the red from at least his fingers and lute strings fade away as if they never existed.
Brother Manas places his hand on the side of his mouth and whispers to Utar: "No, not really, Thank Torm! He has voluntarily kept out of the kitchen since the Safflower Oil incident..."
(OOC: Bonus points to whoever gets that reference.)
As the group rejoins Graxx in the chamber downstairs, Biscuit gives his master a moist lick to the face. Brother Manas wishes everyone a good night of sleep despite being quite the early one (the sun has just now begun to set). Though it felt like it passed fairly quickly, it has been a very long day for the members of this adventuring party. And it was quite an eventful one too!
While getting ready to sleep, CR then begins discussing plans for restocking their supplies and silvering some of their weapons. Tomorrow shall be a brand new day (these purchases can be done OOC and in-between episodes, as we have done in the past).
(OOC: Once your PCs fall asleep here in the temple, we'll be calling the curtains on not only the Epilogue, but also Episode 6 as a whole. So, get all of the RP that can't wait until the next episode out with your next post(s). I'll post soon regarding details about the next episode).
As Neya comes back down, she speaks, "I must say that it was a fascinating ritual. It was not a glomorous one but the intensity was felt throughout."
She then responds to Graxx from his second comment on, "Yes, it seems we are more of a reactionary unit than proactive, but I suppose that the nature of finding more lucrative work around the city."
"I do have three more healing potions. I'll gladly give one or two to anyone who would like some. Other than that, I don't believe I need anything at the moment. But I will need to inform my clan about our other discovery under the island at some point in the near future."
"Holy Water. But I can probably get a vial from the temple in the morn." He said to Graxx along the way. In came Biscuit just as he started to yawn. An all too tired Doozey is promptly bowled over by Biscuit without much effort. "Bis-cuiiit. Nooo." He complains, but to little avail. Having sensed both literal and proverbial blood in the water, the Mastiff wouldn't stop the tongue assault until Doozey gave up struggling, or someone else tried pulling or calling the dog off of him.
Stilling at the mention of island discovery, the stoutling cants his head to best catch the next few words. Even if nothing further is espoused on the matter, he files it away on the back of a murmured, "Someday" while furiously mussing up Biscuit's fur. Content to let the evening play out without another word, Doozey eventually settles in against a curled up Biscuit for a long awaited rest.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack

Utar will look round at the other members of CR, "Let's concentrate on filling out bellies and getting a nights rest for now. There'll be time to prepare for what comes next."
Taking Manas to one side he relays the execution of Rillo Leadstopper, "Would bodies from the gallows be brought back here? Is there another temple closer?"
"Yes, some rest would do us good. It has been a trying couple of days." Neya says as the weight of the multitudes of recent events is finally getting to her, physically and emotionally.
"No," Brother Manas responds. "The dead, regardless of cause, are under the care of Kelemvor in this city. They are all taken to the Valhingen Graveyard just outside the city walls."
Utar, Graxx, and Neya would be well acquainted with that fact as the three of them once helped a priest of Kelemvor (and secret member of the Lord's Alliance) in clearing the mausoleum of a rumored green dragon that passed for a wealthy lady (Episode 3).
The group enjoys their lentil soup supper while planning for the next morning. A long night's rest awaits for them.
(OOC: Alright, this effectively concludes the episode. I'll make a few more bookkeeping posts in the next couple of days to formally close out the thread. For now, make sure to give yourselves a long rest and account for everything you earned this episode: XP, gold, items, etc.)
This is the first of our usual end-of-chapter bookkeeping posts. It's been a while but they should look familiar to most of you. Still, they will look a bit different since this episode was by far the longest and most complex. In this post, we'll just note all the XP gained during the episode so that we all have a handy one-stop-shop to verify your XP gains. It also helps all of us ensure that we are on the same page. The numbers below apply to all characters that completed all four acts. Doozey's case is obviously a bit unique, since he only joined for the Epilogue. More details can be found in the OOC chat as noted in the box below.
ACT I - The Laughing Goblin (more details in OOC post #93).......................................400 XP per character ACT II - Thorn Island and Sokol Keep (more details in OOC post #212).............................550 XP per character ACT III - The Jade Temple (more details in OOC post #347)........................................900 XP per character EPILOGUE - You Say Goodbye and I Say Hello (more details in OOC post #434).......................350 XP per character
TOTAL XP earned by the party...................................................................2,200 XP per character
Just to confirm, you should each have somewhere between 3,750 and 3,890 XP as of the end of this episode.
The second bookkeeping post takes stock of significant items you have all gained in this episode. Unlike previous episodes, however, I will not list the exact amount of coinage each one of you collected as I no longer believe that level of detail is necessary. These records also exclude:
Mundane items/weapons you might have collected along the way (e.g. Doozey's gift rapier);
Other significant items picked up in previous episodes (e.g. Utar's Driftglobe);
Significant items collected but used up during this same episode (e.g. a potion found and immediately consumed).
Finally, this is also a good chance to engage in dividing/sharing/bargaining/requesting/trading the spoils of war among yourselves, if so desired. Please let me know if you find a mistake or omission in the above.
The last of the bookkeeping posts usually asks for each of you to give a (partial) conclusion to your character's story in this episode. For example, what is your character doing (or going to do) as the curtains close? Are they going to find a new inn for the night, find another spot in Phlan, go get a bath, ponder on the politics of this city, ride into the sunset, etc? I usually even offer some incentive in the shape of additional information to those who excel in their concluding posts so they can start with a little RP-based bonus knowledge in the next episode.
However, I feel like we have already gotten such concluding posts above, just before the first bookkeeping post. Hence, this optional concluding post is really not necessary this time around. You should still feel free to do so in case you want to get some extra RP in there before your characters call it a night at the temple, but I think we already got to that point.
All is not lost though, as this is also a good opportunity to reiterate a few things about in-between-episodes activities. If you are going shopping for any items OOC, then mundane items you have can be sold for 50% value (rounded down) and new mundane items can be purchased for the price listed in the PHB. Potions of healing of the common variety and the silvering of weapons (a shortsword in Neya's case, I assume) fall under this mundane category as well. If you want to perform a more specific/complex task, just reach out OOC. If necessary we can then continue separately on a quick/short 1-on-1 session if need be.
Once all of that is done and dusted, I'll formally close this thread.
The next morning, Neya takes some time to write about the fate of her unknown comrade and the circumstances surrounding it, as she understands them. With enough details of the circumstances, someone in her home village might be able to identify her and get some closure.
As she writes, she starts to mentally prepare herself for the torrents of upset correspondence from those who were closer to the fallen agent..
Utar did his spoon into the empty bowl. Lentil was one of the better soups in the repertoire of the temple. Looking around the table, he was grateful for the faces that day around it, glad that there was only one missing and that he could guess where that one was.
In the morning he was resolved to seek out the body of Rillo Leadstopper, see if he could find his daughter as well. He had to get to the bottom of the gnome's confession. He had protected Chaotic Relief, and likely drawn the matter of the Lyceum to a close, at least as far as the Black Fist were concerned.
Utar has also been stuck by the reappearance of a face from his past. Someone he likely owed his life to. But why was she wearing the symbol of the Black Fist and why was she here in Phlan? This would also need some attention.
And yet, the halfling looked even more exhausted.

Graxx sees Doozey and everyone walk downstairs to join them.
"I trust all went well then? We will rest well tonight. Tomorrow, we seek our next job."
Graxx slightly chuckles.
"It's funny, it seems like we never have to look for work it comes to us. It'll be good to get a few things in order and restock."
Graxx looks around at CR.
"What do we need? I've got one healing potion. I know we need to silver some weapons. What am I missing?"
Brother Manas places his hand on the side of his mouth and whispers to Utar: "No, not really, Thank Torm! He has voluntarily kept out of the kitchen since the Safflower Oil incident..."

Graxx nods to Doozey and Neya.
"Alright then. Tomorrow we are back it. Sleep well friends."
Graxx will head to bed feeling fortunate to have survived another encounter and not lost anyone. Well... No one lost their lives on our side.
We can do the purchases in OOC.

110 Group Funds Remaining. Would we like to silver Neya's weapon?
(@Grx: No complaints here.)
When you realize you're doing too much: Signature.
Aye. A silvered weapon would be useful for Neya. Although we might not face were-things again.
(OOC: A silvered weapon could help in case there are other creatures with nonmagical weapon resistances, not just weres.)
