As the party deliberates their next move, Incantis begins to hum to himself, his head swaying and his hands ghost conducting along, as he performs the ritual steps of detect magic.

Wait are you serious? Cause I picked flute for Incantis' bardic tool proficiency but I'm out of warlock pact slots for and am just now realizing I don't have a bardic spellcasting focus lol

Yeah, he carved it in a fugue state back in Phandelin, it's referenced in post 3176, first appears in the real world in post 3180 and gets another run out in 3209. I hadn't added it to my inventory though - thanks for the heads up! But Incantis would be aware of it from #3209 when Strix played it as his contribution to torturing the face-offed Orc.
Strix, there is no door. There is a gap, which the ground nearby suggests people have walked upon, so it's probably the way in. No bell, no knocker, no way to indicate politely that you are here. No mat and no chicken bones either.
Incantis, you cast Detect Magic; there's no immediate presence of a magical aura, but you're over thirty feet from the dwelling. You have that for ten minutes.
You have all completed a long rest since your fight with the Red Wizard, yes.
Are you heading in? If so, who's going? It looks like it might be a squeeze to get you all in.
"Steady friends, I want to get in range of my spell." Incantis blinks in surprise as Srix begins to play. "That was quite nice, I didn't know you knew how to use that thing."

Strix, although you are able to get a couple of decent whistle-like sounds from the flute and it sounds almost pleasant, you find that as you are not actually proficient in playing the flute, you cannot really produce a tune.
There is no response from within the dwelling.
As Incantis heads in, followed by Varinth, the others remain outside - at least for the moment.
Incantis and Varinth, within the dome you find a home of sorts. It's sparsely furnished with chests, shelves, a table and a couch, all of it old, expensive-looking and of elven craft. There's no sign that anyone is home.
Incantis, you sense the presence of magic within thirty feet.
Right Dekhan...git yer game face on, lad. That flutin' should get us tableside wit a banshee soon enough. Eh...ye want te head inside and make fancy with it or have the others request the meeting out here?
I don’t know, Scup... Sister Garaele and Kost both stressed being polite, I’m a little worried about entering this house without permission. Maybe we should wait out here and see what develops. We can keep an eye out out here too. perception 6
Dek wouldn’t claim the Brughor loot for himself, he’s a company guy. The only caveat being that he recommend that Oggor get the axe or some other symbol of leadership when the lads in green take their leave.

Aside that's just coming to mind, is carving a bone flute something in Strix' skillset?

Zoria can have a potion if its needed, but she has healing spells, so it may be better off in the hands of someone else, since she can heal anyways.

Not only is it in his skillset, he currently has one made of an Orc's leg that he found in Blinky's larder. He just can't play the damned thing :D

Varinth will follow Incantis with his head down trying to come off as humble but in reality just very hung over.
Do we announce our arrival? We could jest shout haloo?
As the delegation heads towards the dome Strix whips out his bone flute - not a euphemism - and plays a jazzy introductory sting to announce them.

Varinth rolls his eyes. His head is throbbing. He approaches the threshold of the "room" and takes a knee of fealty.
Oh Great Agatha, I, Varinth Tannerman of The Neverwinter Tannermans, humbly ask for the privilege, nay, the honor of speaking with you.

I didn't say that Incantis entered, just got within 30ft, but I'll roll with it. What school of magic does he detect?
