((I would imagine ~20 feet away, near the entrance of the door.))
I see, and how long have we been talking? Incantis redirects his telepathy to the rest of the party. I've a feeling this 'couple hours at least' is substantially longer...

Dekhan, the armour looks very interesting; both it and the brazier are dust-free, though the rest of the chamber shows that no-one has been here for hundreds of years. It suggests that both could be magical. You don't see anything else of interest though.
Incantis, as you approach the doorway, you see the amulet you wear around your neck which you took from the drow Vyerith begin to flicker with a strange green light. Your passive perception is sufficient that you notice, very faintly, an identical flicker in the magical green fire in the brazier inside the room.
Okay, this brazier is clearly important, and Dekhan NEEDS that armor. So we need to either charm the pants of this guy, very cleverly deceive him, or subdue him somehow. Dekhan has the “favorite student” book which he can give to Incantis, that combined with Scupper’s advantage mastermindery, Cantis’ natural charm and arcane knowledge, and Dekhan’s good looks might just turn this in our favor... if not Strix still has his Sack of Catching Flying Disembodied Heads, right?
OOC: The Sack of Disembodied Head Detainment (SODHD) was unfortunately engulfed in the flames of the last head it trapped, I believe. The brazier is the Magic Granting bit of the forge I imagine.
Varinth, not hearing anyone following, wanders back to the doorway.
I just had a thought. We haven't exactly been Temple Mice since we got here. And the bad guys have been here for a bit... do you think they're just waiting till we clear everything out or die trying?
Vaz looks around nervously, disturbed by his own revelation.
Were that the case, they'd have te have some way of tracking our success. So unless Incantus' crystal is also a scrying link, I'd say they're busy with some other function of the forge.
Strix is curious as to whether or not Skully was dispelled when Ghostie was defeated. But not *that* curious. Wave cave represents a possible risk of being swept away. Skully is a chance to be murderlised. Should we hit those stairs north west in the big hall in the middle just south of Skully?
Having entered the building, Strix does not have the ability to react or wonder if that's the ghouls who were nosing around our sleeping quarters... or worse?
But since he's incapable of influencing the eye-beast, he's ready to go. But before he does :
"Eye-thing speak in head... Can do if not see Strix? Can do if far away? Can call if Spider come, forge in trouble?"
Absolutely. I'll use the mastermind trait to help keep the conversation linguistically (i guess attempting to use arcane legalese) in Dekhans favor and give him advantage.

So, what's the plan?
Varinth will announce his intentions to go west to one of the stairwells that go up.
Scupper wants to go back to the wave cave...north then northwest. Going west is saying hi to skully again. I don't suggest it Vaz.
(Re-posting the map from before. The choices remain the same, except that you have partially explored the room in the east where you currently are.)

Im pretty sure we can sneaky past Skully and go south then west. He's makin' all vigilant facing north yes? enquires Vaz

Those of you who did not enter the building see a very slight movement to the south.
Having entered the building, Strix does not have the ability to react or wonder if that's the ghouls who were nosing around our sleeping quarters... or worse?

Okay, Dekhan is gonna try to talk his way into taking that armor and maybe using the brazier... can Scupper do some masterminding and add advantage?
Absolutely. I'll use the mastermind trait to help keep the conversation linguistically (i guess attempting to use arcane legalese) in Dekhans favor and give him advantage.
Vaz is outside the room. Seeing something out of the corner of his eye he holds up his ball of flame and squints into the darkness.

Varinth, you no longer see anything. Whatever it was appears to have retreated, if there was truly anything at all...
Strix, the creature swivels to look directly at you. There is no trouble here, and no spiders. Please calm yourself, sir. There is no cause for alarm.
