Dekhan assists Scupper with the goblin removal. Looks like these goblins kept this poor thing half starved. Well, I guess they’re making up for it now.
Between you, you have used the beds to suggest a path to the door outside, and strewn the path with flowers in the form of goblin corpses.
Incantis crouches behind a cot to the side and casts mage hand, ready to push the door open from a distance. He looks at Scupper and Strix for instructions.
Strix casts Minor Illusion, creating a kind of owl faced El Ahraira (for the watership down fans - performance 8 though I'd argue there's not a lot of imagination at play here) to guide the owlbear
Scupper creates a minor illusion of the wall near the cots and hides behind it.
It's a small illusion of wall but hopefully, chancin' my arm, it gives the thing the sense not to go this way. If everyone that can, adds to it, we could give this thing a 15 te 20 foot illusion of wall in an empty room while its snacks are through the door.
Fine, the wall makes more sense than a phantom owlbear spirit guide. The goblin parts will serve as a path, Strix contributes to the wall.
(But for the record it can be 'moved' via recasting every 6 seconds so would behave very much like el ahrairah or a will o the wisp, appearing in the direction it wants you to go, digger, listener, runner... ;) )
Incantis casts mage hand, the spectral limb darting forward to push to door ajar. He then adds his own minor illusion, this one auditory, of the rustling of some delectable furry creature off around the corner of the eastern door down to the south.
Sorry for the delays guys, I had a family tragedy immediately followed by a vacation but I’m back now!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the door opens, the owlbear is clearly waiting on the other side, watching and listening. It takes a step towards the door, and sniffs, and sniffs again. It does not bolt for freedom; instead it moves slowly out of the room where it was imprisoned, looking from side to side, sniffing again and again. It spots the goblin corpse lying in the middle of the room, moves over to it, and takes a large bite out of it. And another, and another. After a minute or two there is little left of the creature.
(I'm assuming you are casting and recasting minor illusion which you can do as it has no verbal component.
When the owlbear has finished its meal, it sniffs once again. It turns, and looks in the direction of Strix. It moves a little closer, clearly smelling something but not seeing it. It moves a little closer still. It turns, sniffing in the direction of the way out, and more goblin corpses. It turns back to look directly towards Strix.
It steps right up to Strix, passing through the illusion until it is only a hand away. It sniffs again, and stands, looking directly at the shifter, its movements slow, its huge eyes trained upon you.
Dekhan almost inaudibly intones words in an ancient tongue and traces a holy rune in the air as he casts speak with animals he locks eyes with the Owlbear steady now, brother, we mean you no harm. We would see you free of these creatures who confined you. We seek two dwarves like in size to my friend Scupper here but with beards. Have you seen them?
Dekhan, the owlbear's eyes move momentarily in your direction before returning to lock onto Strix. The creature snorts and then begins a low growl; you find you are unable to understand it, nor does it seem to be able to understand you.
Very slowly Strix lowers his head, lowers his staff and takes a step back, trying to remember if you run uphill or downhill to escape a bear, where the nearest hill is and whether it will matter if that thing swipes at him.
DC 13 is spot on *gulp*
Intent here is to Attenborough my way out of it by showing a lack of dominance or challenge
Scupper drags a body out the door as bait and suggests any other snacks go outside as well.
"No sense in giving it options te dine in"

Vaz will help with bodies and making sure the path between the Owlbears prison and the southern door is free of debris and detritus.

Varinth will duck behind the cot with Inky and be ready. But not ready ready, just ready.

(Is it a rabbit with an owl's face? Or an owlbear? Given that a Minor Illusion can't move, where will you position it?
A line of whole and partially dismembered goblin pieces make a breadcrumb trail through the door and out to the south...

Incantis is still looking at the others, mage hand at the ready, waiting for the signal to go.
Strix nods his readiness to Incantis.

Dekhan nods as well.
“Aaaand....go!”

Perception -3 (Strix's spell DC is 13, right?)

Great to have you back!

Owlbears aren't beasts, I'm afraid.
Dekhan’s face takes on a sheepish cast as he gives an apologetic look to whoever is looking at him.
I guess Dekhan missed that day at Paladin school. Makes sense that he might not know that, I on the other hand have no excuse.
