Strix reluctantly puts that comfy Owlbear pat out of mind and stops messing with the staff. Back to business - he creeps through the northern curtain ( stealth13 ) and approaches the eastern door, looking for creatures in the roof, loose flooring or an obvious door trap - perception13
Strix, you inspect the door, walls and floor, and you don't see any traps. You can see from the floor that the door is well used and gets opened and closed a lot. There are no creatures hiding in the roof and waiting to spring down upon you.
Scupper, you peek through the curtain into another room. This tower has almost completely collapsed, although the ground floor still has a little open space. Rotting crates and ancient barrels show that provisions were once stored here. An intact door leads east, almost certainly to where Strix is. To the north, a short passage through the rubble ends before a screen of canvas.
Seeing that the others are holding back, Strix balks from opening the eastern door to further potential threats and instead turns to the western one (stealth approach 20) - checking it for traps (Perception 6) before opening it to join up with Scupper.
A loud, deep voice rumbles from somewhere beyond the door to the east. You know, for a group of assassins, you're a bit slow and rather loud. Come along now. You don't want me to get bored, and 'break' one of your dwarves, do you?

Dekhan uses the rest of his lay on hands pool to bring himself to full health. He throws back the hood of his cloak, draws Talon, and walks up to the front of the group. Feeling there’s no time to waste he calls out Then know that we are coming, fool, and know that Vengeance herself comes with us. Lay down your weapons now and you may leave with your meager lives. Oppose us and you will reap all that you have sown and more! Our justice will be swift and terrible and none will remain to plead your case before whatever wretched gods you worship!
Just like we came fer yer gobos, yer redbrands, yer wizard Glassstaff, yer orcs, yer Red Wizard o' Fey ifn' he was part o' yer team...and if not, don't expect te hire him. Cause like the rest o' yer greenskins, monsters, and mages, we killed em...'cepting the ones these mates were kind enough te let me in...terrrror...gate. Years on the Sea Witch as head torturer has left me feelin like I should always keep up the practice. So ifn' you ain't interested in savin' yer skin right now, that's jest fine with me. I'll be sure and save it me'self after I carve it off ye.
Incantis thinks to the others, ““Speech may have betrayed our presence, but they would of heard the fighting. If they keep thinking we’re poorly planned assassins that might play in our favor. And they’ve had a profound amount of time to kill the dwarves, yet all the same. We need to move quickly, if only to forestall more nefarious defenses. What resources do we all have at our disposal? I’ve expended only some of my music and magick and am full of vitality.”” The half-elf stalks nearer to the door, listening closely.
((DM, how long would you say has passed since I cast Hex?))

(OOC: You haven't rested, so it's certainly not been an hour. Hex is still up.
Scupper, there's complete silence from beyond the door.
Incantis, you hear... nothing specific. Nothing you could identify. Just, an accumulation of slight noises, movements, breathing. Enough to tell you there is a fairly small room on the other side of the door, with several creatures in it.
