Dario, do you think it's safe to take these things off?
I try to think if I've every heard of something like this...
History: 21
Arcana: 20
Just to point out, Asher threw his off very nonchalant when he responded. So if something bad does happen, it might have happened to Asher already. Of course, I could be wrong.
By the way, nice rolls lol I can't seem to roll above a 10 LOL
Dario comes back to the camp, his long bow secured on his back, and settles on his haunches next to the fire. He picks up the wreath of flowers that Asher thrown to the ground. He looks it over, trying to see if he recognizes it.
History:21
Dario plays with the wreath and looks at Val. "I think it looks pretty on you,"Dario says with a smirk.
Vaz and Dario, you both know bits and pieces about fey creatures; children often imagine them wearing flowers around their heads in this way, but in fact it would be quite unusual for a fey to do such a thing. There are festivals where people wear and give such things as gifts, to celebrate the return of spring. You don't get any sense of magic from the flower crowns.
If you want to make a skill check, but are not certain which skill it is, then mention both skills but just roll the die for the first one. If I think it's the second skill or something else, I'll take the d20 roll and apply the correct modifier to it. That avoids having two die rolls and tempting me to choose the better one - or not. :)
Dario sucks air in through his teeth and contemplates Val's question. "I don't think it would hurt. I checked the roads and everything seems quiet. One of us should stay behind with Scutter and Mistweaver. Thoughts?"Dario says to Val. He then turns to Asher. "Asher, what's your opinion?" Dario asks.
Maybe a nature check to see what kind of flowers they are? If they are connected to any sort of fey in particular or "fairytale stories" or anything of the such? I'd do it myself, but I'm unconscious lol

Asher is either back asleep already or trying very hard to ignore the whispers to fall back asleep.
That being said, if anything does happen at camp, Asher would be ready to defend. If you guys wanted to investigate the trails.

Dario nods at Val and shakes his head at Asher for ignoring him. "I'll go check on on our beast friend and make sure he is okay," Dario says. He gets up and again pulls out his long bow and notches and arrow and takes off to catch up with Strix.
When Dario catches up to Strix he hangs back and hides in the foliage and watches as Strix knocks on the doors and gives him cover.
Strix, you can see that the house has two doors, one on each side. Both are closed but you don't know if they're locked or not without trying. Similarly, there's a window on the west-facing side too, shuttered as the east-facing one is. The roof is thatched, in the style of most buildings you've seen since leaving the city. You knock with your staff on the door, but there's no response.
Ooc : Sorry, this wasn't there when I loaded the thread initially, just the spoiler. Only seeing it now by accident!
Strix checks the step, frame and door handle (perception? Or investigation? 1d20 1 +5 or -1 as appropriate) for traps and tries the handle if nothing is apparent, pushing or pulling it open, standing to the side and after a few seconds darting in and to the left.
Vaz, a pile of flowers, leaves and grass have been placed in front of the horses. One horse is lazily munching on the flowers; the other appears to be asleep. Nothing in the wagon has been disturbed.
Dario, as you are hiding behind a bush, you miss your footing and fall some ways forward, just catching yourself before you topple over completely. The bush makes a fairly loud rustling noise, though not necessarily louder than Strix's knock. There doesn't appear to be any response from the house or elsewhere.
Strix, you don't see any kind of trap. When you try the door, you find that it's locked. As you attempt to open it, the door creaks and you hear a woman's voice, sounding very awake and very scared, come from inside. Who's there? What do you want? We've nothing here for you to take!

Dario curses himself under his breath as he almost trips and makes a complete fool of himself. After he gains his balance he kneels into position with one eye on Strix and his interaction with what sounds like a woman and another eye on on the surrounding buildings to see if anyone heard the scream and comes responding as well as any other threats.

"Madam, I am Strix! If you have nothing, haps I give you this hat? Not much, but it was gift from new bestie. Sentimental value, yes? I come in now. Unarmed. But body is weapon, you know? So.... Yes."
Edit : it's locked. Oops! Gimme a sec.
Thief tools : 17 + 2 (prof) - don't know if any ability mods apply.
If that worked, open door, throw in hat, drop staff loudly, attempt to enter.
Strix, you open the lock easily, and slowly push open the door. Inside is a room with a fireplace, a couple of chairs, a cabinet against the wall, and a small cot on the far wall opposite you where a woman is sitting up and looks obviously terrified at the sight of the opening door and the shadowy figure entering, though it's unlikely she can see you clearly in this light.
Please. Please. I have a little money. You can take it. Please don't hurt me. Please.
You notice that there are flowers, similar to the ones you found, decorating a lot of the room, occupying surfaces or dangling from pictures or hooks on the wall.
Dario, so far the woman is speaking in a low, strangled voice and may be trying to avoid waking others; you don't see or hear any reaction from the other two houses.
Vaz, Soodi is sleeping, standing up as is her habit. She opens one eye as you approach, looks at you for a moment, then closes it again.

Vaz:
Having not yet heard a whistle I shall add some wood to the campfire and keep watch, letting the crackling flames in my core tickle the back of my eyes.
He jangles his coin purse. It doesn't jangle much.
"No, came here for steal children, pay for hat. But.... See flowers, thinking maybe you made hat. Feet to big - maybe your children? Now got to steal other children for them. Spensive hat. "
He pauses, head cocked while he considers.
"Seem scared. Brigands maybe? Brigands worth money. I meditate by door, you sleep, brigands come, I take heads back to town, swap for money, give you finder's fee, pay for hat, quits. Deal?"
He fixes her with a winning gawk, twisting his thin mouth into a happy leer.

Well then, perhaps I shall keep it. Should we follow the puppy or stay here?

To Dario I'll stay here and guard the sleepy heads. If you need help give a loud whistle. I'll check on the goods.
I go on the cart and check that nothings been disturbed.
