Asher, you approach the task of driving with great confidence, but struggle for the first mile or so; your experience is with horses of war or racing that need a firm hand – these docile creatures are startled and unnerved by your approach. The wagon lurches forward and halts unexpectedly a few times until Scupper gives you a few pointers that seem to work, and after that you just let the horses get on with it.
The journey goes without incident, and as sunset approaches, you stop and set up camp.
In the evening, Vaz spends some time with Soodi and the horses, trying to reassure them that the camel is not a threat, but it doesn’t go very well; the horses are clearly still very alarmed at Soodi’s presence; given that they don’t really know or trust Vaz either, there is a sense that this could take a long time to work.
I’m going to use a mix of passive perception and active perception checks, for different things. Mostly, an active check is an extra chance for something interesting to be noticed.
After setting up camp, I assume that the group maintains a watch overnight. Could four people please give me Perception checks?
There didn't appear to be any inn or other place to rest coming up, so you made camp near a clump of trees just a short distance back from the road. In the gloom you could just about see a couple of houses perhaps half a mile off the road to the west - not quite enough to be called a village - but with no clear road to get the wagon there.
The horses seem happy to rest and drink from a stream, but keep a wary eye on Soodi. You think you managed close to twenty-five miles today, which takes you about half the way to where the High Road meets the Triboar Trail. As no-one came forward to take them, Mistweaver has kept the map and Gundren's letter.
Asher takes first watch, but is surprisingly tired from the day's journey; though he doesn't quite fall asleep, he's more focused on staying awake than actually paying attention to the surroundings. Fortunately, the watch passes without incident.

That's weird - I edited in the / immediately and it's gone now. As is the edit comment. Rolled a 15 too. Ah well. Rolling here to avoid flags for roll tampering.

Edit two - that roll in my last post is back now! This is bananas!
Vaz, the stars are... fascinating. You've never bothered to learn all the constellations, but you can see how there are groups of stars here and there in the sky that might form particular shapes - a wheel, a unicorn's horn, the right elbow of a gnome fisherwoman... You spend a good two hours mapping out the sky in your mind, paying attention to nothing else.
As your watch ends, you go to wake Strix for his turn, and notice that on his head is what appears to be a crown woven out of grass, leaves and flowers; it looks flimsy and hastily made. As you glance around the camp, you notice that Dario and Asher are wearing similar garlands.
Strix, as you wake, you see Vaz looking at the top of head, and your hand instinctively reaches up and touches one of the flowers. You see tracks of what appear to be bare feet - perhaps a gnome or human child - around the camp and leading to and from the houses that you saw earlier.
You follow the trail easily; it appears now to be of two small creatures, made probably not more than an hour ago. The trail leads directly to the door of one of the three houses; the house is small, a single storey, and is probably split into two rooms. You approach from the east, and there is a single window on the wall facing you which appears to be tightly shuttered closed.

Vaz:
Feeling something is very off here I go to quietly wake the others. Then, if our camp fire still smoulders, I reach into my heated core and gift it to the flames with a quick articulation of my left hand.
Control Flames.
I double the amount of light cast from the fire and look about
Asher turns to see Vaz waking him up. "You better have a good reason for this. What is so concerning that you must interrupt my rest?" As he notices the floral crown on his head, he quickly takes it off and tosses it on the ground, never sitting up from his bedroll.

Dario watches Strix follow the trail. He wonders to himself if he should follow or not, but decided instead to take up watch and to scout around the campsite for any signs of people coming up from the trail, especially those two from earlier who were whispering to one another. Dario takes his long bow and notches in an arrow as he goes off to keep watch.
Vaz, you increase the brightness of the fire and look out over the surrounding area, but you don't notice anything.
Dario, you move all round and through the camp; you're confident that there are no new tracks other than the two small humanoids with bare feet. There's no sign of anyone approaching from the road, or even of any travellers moving along the High Road during the night.
"Not to seem rude to my newly met human 'friend', but if the biggest issue currently is someone put some flowers on my head while I was sleeping, I find that to be the very least of my worries. If said person wished to harm us, they could have done so, instead of adorning our hair with petals. You need only wake me if there is a beast or monster of some sort to kill and add to my name." Asher turns back over in his bedroll attempting to go back to sleep.
I hope that isn't mean lol I (the player) find it reasonable to be worrisome, but Asher wouldn't find that to be something to worry about.
You should absolutely play the character according to his personality and what you think his current mood is. :)
Strix, you can see that the house has two doors, one on each side. Both are closed but you don't know if they're locked or not without trying. Similarly, there's a window on the west-facing side too, shuttered as the east-facing one is. The roof is thatched, in the style of most buildings you've seen since leaving the city. You knock with your staff on the door, but there's no response.

Asher prefers to stay up and keep watch and volunteers to go first, if there is an order (that matters).

I'll take Strix's Perception check as 15+, enough to see the tracks easily. :)
"Camel man, you made Strix hat! Got you nothing. Can get you child though, seems good trade. Wait here. Awake, yes?"
Strix follows the trail cautiously, looking for ambush spots near walls or trees, and if he makes it to the house looks for Windows.

To Asher (whispering) Sorry Ash but we seem have been gifted head ware without anyone noticing. As pretty as they are, I'm finding it disconcerting.
As I whisper to Asher I arm myself with my staff.

Strix stays low and skirts the outside without crossing past the front door looking at other windows, doors and what the roof is made of.
If there are no other windows or doors, he crouches to one side of the front door and Knocks with the end of the staff
