After getting on board the Lakota you all spend about an hour exploring and getting to know her systems. There are many things that need to be repaired to make her like new again, but to get her worthy of leaving the dock you all realize it will take almost all of your credits. Even after spending every credit, the sensors are limited in their range, the replicator will crash if you try to produce more food then enough to sustain maybe 5 people and shields won't charge over 16. Deciding you are all in you all agree and send the purchase to the strange toad-like creature, After dropping off the data pad and being told "Yourrr equipment will be therrre in about an hourrr" You leave with no credits to your name and an hour to kill before parts come in.
((There are 2 bars in town one is rough and tough known for seedy characters to be there Called "The Wretched Sign". The other is a bit more upstanding resembling a normal bar called "The Mist", they both have job boards in them. There is also the local Law enforcement if you wanted to try to take a bounty, or the merchants guild to transport cargo or passengers.))
"Well, ladies an' gennelmen, we are very broke. I suggest we head on downtown an' try ta get ourselves a job, eh? I'd stop by the sign ta get smashed one last time afore we blast off, but I don't got a dollar ta my name. However, I got a couple'a things I could try an' sell off, though. What say you, Boss?"

Looking over to the Nautilid sheepishly before turning back to the captain and adding herself ”I...eh...I’ve spent all I’ve got too sir...I eh mean Captain. At least we can get her flying once the parts arrive, bb...but we need some creds to get her properly back to health. I know the merchants guild is always looking for ships to carry out runs if we want something to haul.”
"Come on guys! We are not broke! We got her fixed! Hear that! she purrs like a Shawderinian Tiger!" Shean taps main console as if the ship could feel it and then he turns off the engines. " Let's go to the merchants guild and see if we can get ourselves a job. In the way we can stop and take a look to that panel you speak of. Perhaps we can do two jobs in one or two jumps!"
The captain seems to be excited and happy that the ship is fixed. With several things to improve, sure, but ready to fly again.
As you leave the Lakota with a deep breath, all of you with dreams of grandeur and need of credits on the mind. You head to the location that is closest to the dock that is “The Wretched Sign” as you approach you can hear the disagreement happening before you get to the place before someone gets thrown through the window. The window shatters at the man is flung through it then the window seems to pull itself back together with an auto repair spell cast on the glass this must happen a lot. Glancing through the window the person on the other whipping her hands is a female dwarf who clearly is used to bouncing people when needed. You can see her walk behind the counter again after shooting a couple people a glare. Things quiet down as you all enter the bar...
"A simple cargo run or two seems a good place to start. The Lakota has a rather generous cargo area and if I remember correctly, the Merchant's Guild treats its freelancers rather well. Getting a good name with an established guild might aid since additional protection as well if our debts become...difficult."
As they enter the bar Juk shrinks down nervously. She knows well of the Wretched Sign and it is not the kind of place she would normally choose to go. She moves in close behind Doume, thinking it best to keep close to the large Nautilid as he looks like he could easily handle himself if trouble breaks out. As he looks over the job board her eyes dart around the bar looking at everyone present, in particular the dwarf who had just dealt with the previous trouble, as she tries to check for anyone who looks dangerous.
Looking around the bar, you see that most people are staring at your group, some you can tell are just curies but others seem to be sizing you all up. Two different people catch your eye, one is a lanky fellow standing over six foot tall he missing most of his hair, the hair he has is sticking out in odd places, his skin is pale and his eyes show strain from staring at too many screens. He is clearly staring at you in inappropriate ways. He seems harmless enough but is clearly thinking less than wholesome thoughts. A lady also catches your eye as she is staring at you all intently, she is mid hight and human with short red hair, wearing a long deep red trench coat. when she sees you look at her she taps the pistol on her side looking at you with a quizzical look before she puckers up and makes a kissing motion at you. With that, she looks back to her mug taking another drink, you are fairly sure she is still sizing you all up.
On the board, there are a few bounties posted mostly for someone to collect debts or other actions that require strength and force. As you are examining the board you will notice for the slightest of a moment a glimmer of thin light coming from the board (Perception or a tech type skill to know more).
While Doume and SOMA are examining the console Juk shivers and crosses her arms over her chest as she catches the gaze of the strange lanky fellow, shrinking further round Doume to move out of his eye sight. She really does not like this place. Looking around further she sees the red haired woman tap her pistol and blow her a kiss. Not sure what to make of it she turns back to the others.
"Mr...eh...Doume, do yy..you see any jobs on the board? II...I dd..don't like the way people are looking at me in here is all."
"Who, that guy? Look, here, friend. I'd say that I don't want any trouble, but that'd be a lie. I do want trouble, and I'd like to tell you all that the next person to look at this lovely lady like that will get a smoking hole through their head, courtesy of Doume, on the behalf of the crew of the Lucifer and Mistress Sixes herself."
With that, Doume opens up the palm of his left hand to reveal a black pentacle painted onto his suit there.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Shean enters the bar and looks around as if he owns the place and was satisfied seeing it full of people. He even smiles back to the red haired woman. He turns towards the board and says in low voice to his crew.
"I agree... let's take a look and be on our way. There will be time for troubles.. but another time"
He looks to the board before Doume makes his statment.
(Sorry for not posting yesterday, we had a huge snow storm, I was distracted by my kids)
For those of you that got over 14 on Tech check: The light from the board was a short range and powerful scan, that you are fairly sure checked your identity and checked it on the network.
Soma: There is only one other Vect here, who is standing next to a door that is covered only by a tattered piece of cloth. He is holding a blaster of some sort, and standing very relaxed but is clearly guarding that door.
Doume: The tall lanky fellow seeing the symbol clearly has had a run in as he averts his gaze and slowly slinks out of the bar clearly not wanting any trouble. You see a couple other people avert there gaze but do not leave. The lady with red hair glanced over and gives a clear short chuckle.
Captian: As you are looking at the board your communicator in your ear will buzz for a moment before a mechanical voice will start to talk ((Juk you can hear this as well as you seem to be picking up with your background some of what is said))"Seeing the background of your... crew and the extream void in your bank accounts I am assuming you are looking for a quick job that can make some real money, are you interested in here more?" the voice trails off getting softer as if the signal is weakening "Leave something on the board if you want to know more" The buzzing noise stops and your communicator goes back to normal.
"I think that the thing just procured us a job. I am curious... " says the captain and leaves a broken screw that he had in one of his pockets, probably put it there for tossing away later when they were repairing the ship.

SOMA quietly offers:
"I don't like the look of this place much. The way that lanky one is eyeing us, especially. Perhaps we should check the board and be on our way."
I'd also like keep a general eye out for anything fishy.
Perception 16 for myself or to assist Jukuxan's roll, whichever is easier.
In particular, I'm always keeping an eye out for other Vect and how they fit in the universe
Oops, just noticed the part about the board. I'd prefer to check it out instead of the room if I can't do both. That would be Technology 18
Doume keeps an eye out too, but for a different reason. He's looking for trouble!
