The Hook: You are all residents of small village in an out of the way border march. Life has always been pretty quiet. Oh sure, there is the occasional raid by kobolds or goblins and the old sorcerer's tower has always a strange and mysterious place good for the firelight ghost story but mostly things are just as things always have been, until recently! Several of the local farmer's livestock has been slaughtered in a way never seen before and worse just the other night one of the farmers was killed. The villagers are frightened and the local reeve has asked for some brave volunteers to try and find the culprit(s) and put a stop to it. Each of you have longed for adventure for your whole lives and now it finally looks like you will finally get your chance...are you willing to step up and be the heroes you always dreamed of being?!?
The Details: I am looking for three to five players who are willing to work together, at first to solve a local mystery but may grow into a more involved story line. To this end, absolutely NO evil characters allowed. And since I have limited access to WotC material, races, classes, and backgrounds will be limited to the Player's Handbook. Please keep in mind that each of you will start off as a resident of a small village so factor that in when you are creating your character. Please don't ask me to play anything but what is in the Player's Handbook, the answer will be no, so don't waste our time.
Some Rules: 1) Thou art in a role-playing game not a creative writing class. Please keep your post to about 5 to 7 sentences. 2) Thou art not the DM in this game. I will make the decisions, corrections, and judgments regarding what actions others can take or not take. 3) Thou shalt make thyself understood. Spelling and grammar count, if I can't determine what it is you want to do you probably won't get the outcome you desire.
Please PM me with any questions regarding character generation or anything else so we don't clog up the forum. Thank you!
P.S. I don't care how you generate die rolls, however, do not roll unless I request one and don't ask me to make a skill check, instead describe what you want to do and how you are trying to achieve it and I will decide what skill check (if any) is required.
It seems that little Braindel, the troublesome girl who is always getting herself into trouble looking for an adventure has finally met one!
I am thinking in a Human Rogue here.
Does it suits you? If not we could easily change her to bard, always inventing histories to the other kids of the village, and she has a talent playing that violin and singing...
Either of those will work and both could give way to a reason why your character didn't grow up in the village if you have a back story idea that doesn't fit with growing up in a small isolated village.

As for me, I choose to believe that an extinct thunder lizard is running a game of Dungeons & Dragons via Twitter!
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
I have no idea what an arcane archer is so it must be something from a source other than the Player's Handbook. I don't own any of the extra text so I am going to have to ask you to stick to classes and options from the PHB.
Thank you

Sorry, I think the technical "Arcane Archer" was a UA archetype, but I was picturing the Eldritch Knight page from the PHB. Two different specialties, two ways to play the character. Thinking I may lean toward the Ranger, though.

I think the ranger would fit nicely especially with Frandal's rogue.

Do I smell the beginnings of a long-time partnership on the road? The sly, charming rogue overwatched by the somber, reclusive ranger?

Hello there Barlow! I like it! Rogue: " Look that merchant seems ot have interesting things, Let's have a look!" Ranger: "Yes but... can't you wait until he wakes up tomorrow and goes to the market?" Rogue: " Where would be the fun on that?" ;)
Standard array great! I will post her later then! :)
Oh oh oh! Since this is no-evil-allowed, should we role the Chaotic-Neutral-Lawful combo? Chaotic rogue with a wild streak countered by the druid's lawful focus on natural order and all barely held in check by the neutral ranger just looking to do some good?

2 small issues, 1st - I don't see how you got +4 to damage for daggers, it should be +3. 2nd, The modifier for your INT should be +2. Other than that everything looks good.

Barlow, you are missing 7 points for your point buy on your stats. I mean you can choose to use less than the 27 points allotted but that would be silly!
