He looks down at you and says "Know you place little one. Don't make me take back the words about you being useful. Maybe someday when you've earned your scars I may tell you the story of what's in that pouch. Until then, listen, learn and don't be too much trouble."
Ooc: Ok. There's supposed to be a feature where you can't delete rice rolls. Maybe that's just for edits. In anycase, you would have needed a very high roll to suceed.
Ooc: Well that's a surprise. I will give you the surprise round and also give everyone a chance to act. I do want you to look at the spell your casting. The max hitpoints you can effect at your level is 40. How many hit points do you think someone who runs an adventure training program might have? I'm telling you this because you're all learning here so I'll give you a chance to rethink. If you still wanna proceed. No problem, we will play it out!
I think it should be fun. Considering that id Parth is surprised he supposedly cannot attack in that condition. So let's go and play out what was said :D even if I end up failing :D
Thorum is sitting on a log by the fire and watches the scene unfolding in front of him. He has heard rumors of Parth and his abilities. Knowing you have to be able to take care of yourself pretty well in order to become the leader of an adventuring training ground, Thorum begins to tell the scorcher that he may not want to test Parth, but decides this is a perfect way to determine the skill of both the scorcher and Parth so he stays quiet and turns to get a full view of the occurrence.
Zarbof turns to Thorum and says loudly, as if deliberately making sure that Belialuin can hear. .
"We could end up one down before we even start. You wouldn't catch me picking a fight with our trainer on my first day! Particularly one that looks as rough as Parth! Do you think we should intervene for his own sake? It might be fun to watch it play out, but I'm more interested in learning what we came to this camp to learn than watching someone get taken apart on day one. After all, we've all paid to be at this establishment for a reason."
Ooc: for the sake of flow here I'm going to say that both Zarbof and Thorum passed perception checks to notice the sorcerer preping to cast. I should have maybe private messaged Belianuin about casting but I'd like to keep as much in the boards as possible for learning purposes. All else is how it is, just a way to explain why they're talking about it at the same time Belialuin is casting.

I roll a perception check to see if I notice the Sorcerer casting.

OOC: Hopefully I did the die rolling correctly, but I have no idea what my target roll would be anyway. If I fail I'll just be looking through my stuff just to check I've brought all my stuff...
If Belialuin does put Parth to sleep, Roger attempts to block him from getting at Parth, reasoning that In the inevitable occurrence of Parth’s waking, he would rather incur his favor than his wrath. “I’m not sure that’s a very good idea, sorcerer.” Roger tells him.
If Belialuin’s spell fails, Roger merely steps backwards so as to be out of the way.
Wormsquirt recedes into the shadows thankful for the distraction. It's better if they get to know me in small doses he thinks to himself. This may be one of his toughest jobs yet. Stomach grumbling, he starts his search.
OOC: While everyone is distracted, Wormsquirt will look for food.
Wormsquint, are you officially receding into the shadows? If so give me a stealth check please. If you're just kind of backing off and looking for food that's fine too.

Belialuin sleight of hand check

It's not the first time Belialuins curiosity got the better of him, yet the burning desire to uncover secret drove him past the boundaries of fear. With a swift hand wave akin to movements of a cat he proceeded to cast the spell.

I cast sleep on Parth and my hand reaches swiftly towards the pouch, as I try to grab it and look inside.

RavenloftAnnihilationMysti chimes in...” I thought we were discussing filthy gnolls and how we can erase their existance???”
Alrighty, we'll play it out. I love it when players do the unexpected. Keeps me on my toes 😊
So, Belialuin, give me a, let's see, slight of hand check to see if he notices you trying to cast on him.
The rest of you will have a surprise round. You can act now or hold your actions.

Mysti still just wanders around the room more concerned with the gnolls outside than what is happening between the wizard and the sorcerer.

Mysti is still pacing around thinking back to when she was younger and her mother was taken by a gnoll war party, never to be seen from again.

You do indeed cast, without his notice. Roll you're 5d8 for the spell (in the roll box just change to d8, #of dice 5)
