Kath watches the light unable to penetrate the darkness. "Well.... if we can't see..." Kathleen then closes her eyes and tries to listen for anything in the darkness.
The empty silence that was prevalent filled Kathleen’s ears before Ria rushed in. The three found themselves passing through and into a sickening chamber.
On the two walls to their side, the light Katznii held brought to light iron spikes. Among the wall’s teeth, two corpses fresh and still oozing blood, blood smeared on the floor as if dragged by the walls. In the center of the smaller room, a hatch going down.
Turnig back to look around, that same black veil existed.

Ria gives the area a suspicious look, but calls through the veil. "It's safe...ish. I think. Just come on before the walls decide to close in or something."
Kathleen looks at the walls and cringes a bit. "We should probably keep moving. Getting caught in these things won't be a good idea." When the party will get to the hatch, Kath will open it.
((I'm pretty sure we were heading down the hole....unless there is something here that catches our eye that isn't two dead bodies and a spike-wall trap.))

Jason takes a deep breath, and focuses a little on that spark deep within him. Now that they were close, he didn't have the luxury of restraint....as much as he wanted to. As they walked, he prodded at this power, as if trying to gauge some reaction, but holding back, for what was to come. He'd need his strength.
"We're getting closer." Asphodel mutters. "The sooner the better." He takes a moment to himself, eyes shifting from person to person. The conversation of magic from earlier had kept his thoughts occupied.
The room visibly gave him the creeps, the blood only adding to his discontent. He walks over to the hatch, "You're all welcome to stay and admire smelly,violent,death room - but I'm going down first."
He will begin going through. Muttering a few words under his breath as he goes. He'll look around cautiously.
Kathleen will stand outside the hatch until the rest of the party has gone down. That way, if the walls start closing in, she can try her best to stop the walls long enough for the others to escape. (OOC: I just want Kath to be in the back because ranged combat mechanics). After the rest have gone down, she will follow the party at hold up the rear.
Behind Asphodel, the rest of the party travels down the dark stairwell, the smell of stagnant water and cold earth filling their nostrils as it got even more noticeably cold.
Down they went, every chilled granite step bringing them into the depths of He catacomb, carved clean walls giving way to cavernous rugged features.
When Asphodel reaches the final step, ahead of him were familiar skeletal columns framing an entrance into a dark cavern. The ground was gravel, the large cave giving way to a tunnel up ahead to the left, but the party had little time to see anything else, as a gasp was heard in the distance. A voice breaking the silence.
”Captain! We got company!”
Three thugs stood in the dark, one breaking away and heading for the tunnel.

Jason, mostly relying on others to traverse through the darkness (human vision xD) enters the veil.
Katznii walks carefully over to the hatch, mindful to avoid any uneven bit of floor that might look like a pressure plate.
Katznii, looking at the hatch, sees the familiar celestial, implying their entrance through healing has prevented the trap from closing in on them.
Jason comes through and sees the same, the sticky iron smell hitting his nostrils strongly.
