ooc- Tauriel is a female minotaur that's 4' 10". She's very muscular however and weighs in at about 150lbs. Oddly enough her face is extremely similar to that of a human but she has a bovine tail/hooves and her nose is slightly wider and flatter than that of a human's. She also has a pair of horns sprouting from her head giving a dead giveaway that she's a Minotaur. She has tan skin, messy brown hair, blue eyes, and she's 18. Wields axes big and small.
Rhogar finishing his plate sets it down and finds a bottle of his own. He sets off to find where blobbins and tauriel set off too. Rhogar motions for the rest of camp to follow suit.
OK, So Blobbin heads into the main house waving for all to follow saying "We'll use the big house tonight to accommodate my new guests"
The first thing you notice walking into the house in the delicious aroma. A mixture of freshly baked bread and fresh herbs. What you notice next is that the stories of Blobbins wealth have not been exaggerated. The house is very well appointed with beautifully woven rugs and rich tapestries depicting epic battles and wondrous landscapes. You walk into a large main room with a huge table as it's centerpiece. The furniture is well polished, rich wood with what looks like, in some cases, trimmings of silver. You notice the lovely cooking smells are coming from an open doorway on your right. There is a fireplace on your left with a fire already blazing and stairs in the back of the room leading to the second floor. Under a section of the stairs is a small cluttered desk and bookshelves.
Blobbin says "Please, please grab a spot around the table while I find that map" He heads over to the desk and after a moment of shuffling around papers exclaims "Ah, here it is!" and returns to the table and unrolls a map waiting for all to be seated.
Rhogar with a bottle in hand, sits next to Blobbin. He motions for Blobbin to move closer and in a low tone say “I couldn’t help but over hear you talking about a helmet. It piqued my interest. What is this helmet?”
Blobbin raising his eyebrows says "Eh? You heard that? Huh, I thought I was whispering. Well no matter. It's just an old helmet in my pile of junk from days gone by. Our elf friend Fyr is very crafty, you know, and I think he may be able to come up with something that will help our gnome friend". He tries to drop his voice lower "I'm afraid the poor fellow can't see the end of his nose"
After looking over the map Oslamir speaks up, “I’m not too familiar with this region. Could you please point out where we are now. Also, where the roads have been blocked and approximately where the shipments went missing?”
Once everyone is gathered around the table Blobbin points down to the center of the map and says "Ahh yes, I was correct. There is a road that meets the western trading road right by Firdale there."
Looking around at everyone he says "This map shows the trade roads between the elven kingdom of Aendrithas and the human kingdom of Muna. Master Sledge is the Magistrate from Briarery there in the west, while Fyr'ta is one of the head councilors in Fyr'rel Lolora. I think he's a head councilman anyway. He's very illusive about some things..."
You can see he is visibly getting excited talking about the adventure you are about to partake.
"Now these are only the main trade roads, you understand, there are smaller roads branching here and there but this should give you all a good starting point for planning"
He points to an area between Egen and Orcho in the south "We are roughly here right now"
he roads is collapsed here". He points to a spot a little west of the fork that leads to Wontong. "That's where they start their detour. Unfortunately we don't know where the shipments are going missing but the area around Orcho doesn't have a very good reputation. Sledge was also saying that Firdale has come upon hard times. Either of those places may be a good start"
“If the road from Fyr’Lolora is blocked where Blobbin has indicated I think it is safe to assume the shipments would have turned South toward Wonton with the intention of detouring through Okcho and Firdale before resuming their journey into Muna. Given that we are not far from Okcho now, I suggest we put the fake caravan plan on hold and simply head into Okcho. Hopefully someone there can tell us if the shipments ever reached Okcho. Then we will know if we should search the road toward Wonton or Firdale.”
The sound of wood hitting wood could be heard as Sinjin found his seat with his staff. The gnome hopped up into his seat. Once he was situated, he retrieved his orb from his pocket and put it over his eye like a monicle. Sinjin could see, but only through the orb, which tainted his vision green. His sight was also limited(around 5ft.)
Nevermind that, Sinjin gazed over the map with his other party members. "I agree with em." The gnome motioned towards Olsamir. "The more Intel we get, the better we can prepare. Who knows? We might be able to get a base location from sources." Sinjin put his hands on the table.
Rhogar begins looking around the table trying to spot Fyr. Rhogar asks the group “ Did anyone see where Fyr go? I wanted to ask him a few questions. Im sure since he’s a councilman he can tell us more about any factions working the area.”
Taking a seat at the table and looking over the map, Tordals says
I agree with Rhogar here, being able to leverage Fyr'ta's connections might get us into the good graces of the locals. Blobbin, you said Muna belongs to the humans and Aendrithas belongs to the Elfs, to which kingdom does Okcho belong?
Blobbin looks at Rhogar. "Fyr went out to the toolshed, I may be able to answer questions for you but if not I will call him in"
Turning to address Tordal he syas "Okcho is somewhat of a strange situation. It used to be part of the human kingdom of Muna but a faction of Tieflings struck out on their own some time ago and have claimed that area for themselves. I must say it wasn't contested overmuch as many humans think the Okcho lake is cursed." Perhaps you should explain Master Sledge.
"There isn't much to tell really" Sledge says "Hundreds of years ago there was a large and prosperous city there. It was swallowed up by a great trembling in the earth and not one from the city escaped. The water there supports no life. No fish, no plants. It is almost as if the water is acid itself. Though it was generations ago the story is told of Old Okco as a means to scare children. You'd better eat your onions or we'll send you to Okcho" He starts chuckling with a look in his eye as if reliving a fond memory. "The Teifling never really caused us any trouble and we've mostly had good relations with them when we see them at all."
By the time the group had gathered around the map, Tauriel had already consumed 4 bottles of wine since entering the camp. She peeks over Oslamir's shoulder while holding her fifth bottle and looks at Okcho.
"Well...if I were a bandit *hic* I wouldn't stay in a place where people could easily notice all my stolen loot. If people don't like going in that direction *yawn* naturally, I'd say *hic* Okcho would be a good area to hide...er, somethin.... Decoy or not *hic* shouldn't we head in that direction as a *yawn* starting point anyway?"
Rhogar shrugs “ best not to upset our friends lest we need there help later.” Then he turns to Tuariel and nods. “ Tauriel is right we should go over there an explore ourselves!”
OOC: LOL. Tauriel, you're going to have to give me some checks after consuming that much elvish wine :) I do have a sytem for that, because it comes up fairly often. It's a blend of other peoples homebrews to handle it in a way that makes sense to me. I will explain in a moment.
OOC: So I believe adventurers are made of pretty stern stuff and can therefor handle a good amount of alcohol. For human sized folk it's you can drink up to a bottle a wine or flagon of beer or 6 shots of alcohol. There are some alcohol types that are an exception but we don't need to get into that right now. There's 2 major parts to my system. The good and the bad. The good is that you gain "Liquid Courage" by passing a check and the benefits have a progression. The bad is that after a failing a check you loose the benefits and take a level of exhaustion which has it's own official penalties.
Liquid courage progresses like this:
+5 temp HP
Grants Advantage on CHA checks
Grants Advantage on STR checks
Advantage on Fear saves.
The checks are CON saves done with a base DC of 9 +1 for every level of drunkenness (for you since you've had 4 bottles your last check will be against a DC of 11. No check until the second bottle and then one for each additional bottle)
Ooc- ha ha sorry tauriel I reread everyone’s post later and noticed I missed it and then I was eh would it be weird if I went a head an answered it
