The five of you are in something of an office. The space is well-kept, with a neatly organized bookshelf spanning the back wall, and a shield emblazoned with the sun hung on the wall as a display piece. A broad-shouldered man sits behind the desk, scanning a singular piece of paper while chewing on a cigar. The man looks up from a paper he has been reading. "So you're the new, recruits, eh? I guess I'm supposed to welcome you. Well, congratuations on being accepted into the Mercenaries of the Sun. The name's Sergeant Brevam Alir, but most 'round here call me Sarge or 'sir.'" As he leans forward, the five of you can see a faint glow behind his eyes, as if some energy is attempting to burst out. "Here's your first assignment. I know this is sudden, but hey, a job's a job. There's been some grave robbings in the Bronze Pine Village, about two and a half days from here. Strange, especially in these parts and during these times. You'll be able to meet a contact we've got set up there who will give you more details. Any questions I can answer?" Alir leans forward, hands folded, establishing a calm confidence with his body langauge
"Whenever you're ready, recruit. You may want this, though," Alir replied, handing Primus the paper he had been reading. "This tells you where to find the contact in question, and they should be able to fill you in on your reward and stuff." With that, Alir yawned briefly before turning to the rest of the party. "Anyone else?"
Alir smiled, and leaned back in his chair. "Isn't it obvious? I'm an Aasimar. Of the 'Scourge' variety. Anything else you'd like to know about me?" His tone takes a sarcastic turn.
"I thought you were. Glad to have my suspicions confirmed. As you were informed, Sergeant, I am here to act as an intermediary between the Mercenaries of the Sun, the Church, and law enforcement. Jeramiah, at your service, and that of the Church."
Jeramiah is leaning against the back wall of the office, at least until he speaks, at which point, he stands straight, marches over to Primus, and looks at the papers that had been passed to the tiefling.
Brand gave off a pallpable air of impatience being in the office. Sergeant Alir's accomodations were generous for a human. Despite this, Brand had to shove it way through the door, slouch his neck to avoid the ceiling, and make a serious decision over whether he would fit in a nearby chair.
Turning to Primus, "Sign it, eat it, or piss on it, let's just get on with it. If someone is stealing corpses, theb they're digging a grave for us. We just need to fill in the hole behind them. Point me to the graveyard so I can get out of this mouse-hole you call an offfice."
Brand makes his way to the door, eager to get to more open areas. He leans against the section of wall next to the door and gives a spiteful grin, "...Sir..."
Grishkar Darkmoor, Necromancer of Nerull the Despiser Kelvin Rabbitfoot, Diviner, con artist, always hunting for a good sale Bründir Halfshield, Valor Bard, three-time Sheercleft Drinking Competition Champion, Hometown hero
"I don't believe we need to be here any longer, now that we have this bit of paper. Lets go."
Jeramiah can see that Brand's discomfort and impatience could lead to problems if they were allowed to build up much longer, and swiftly acts to remedy the situation. He waves the bit of paper he is holding, before heading out the door, ready to go, while reading the information the paper contains. One could almost swear that his eyes change colour as he scans the page, but a second glance would dispel the thought.

The elf, who has been silent for the whole conversation, checking the string of his longbow with some distracted behavior speaks for the first time. The rest of the party can see the insignia of the Mercernaries of the Sun as a pin on his cloak. It's difficult to see his factions but it seems that his face is crossed by some ritual tattos. His voice is just above a whisper when he says.
" I will wait for you at the city gate. Do not tarry, for we don't have all day. " with that he leaves the room and heads towards the gate.

A northern town that originally began as a small lumber village. Located within the first mile or so of the borders of the Tlaewth Forest, it's nearest neighbors are Bronze Pine Village and Greil Village. The place was originally run by the Baron Reinhold, but as the man has aged, the town has come under the upkeep of the up-and-coming Dienol religion. Zealots and normal villagers vie for power within a makeshift council that has been wrought until the Baron's son can return from abroad.
Population: 1023
Nearest cities/towns/villages:
Greil Village: 3 days (on foot)
Bronze Pine Village: 2.5 days (on foot)
Important Organizations:
Mercenaries of the Sun: A fairly well-respected group of mercenaries that will charge low prices for services that are done well. As I said, very respectable.
Church of Dienol: An up-and-coming religion that has been spreading across the northern part of the continent. The pantheon is small, with only four deities covering the whole of the church. They are almost aggresive missionairies, ready to die for their newfound faith.
Brand groped at a pocket under his thick chain coat. Coins tapped dully against each other, twenty give-or-take by the bull's count. Brand had only been on the mainland for just under a year, but he learned quickly that everything had a price. A sword bought on his budget wasn't worth the metal needed to make it.
A scowl crept over his face from the indignation of it. Back home, weapons were freely given to reavers sailing out. Now he had to beg with coins for a decent blade. The thought infuriated the minotaur, and his scowl pulled at the scar on his head, enflaming his temper even more. He had shoved four people from his path before he noticed anyone around him. This realization didn't stop him from relocating three more before the town gate.
(P.S. There are scars all over his body, but only his head's is visible. They are Brands of Exile, the number hinting at his people's enthusiasm to see someone gone)

Waiting on the outside of the gate is Cúdraug. At his side, laying on the floor there is a huge white wolf. The elf seems to be paying little attention to the gate or the people who moves out or in the city.
As the rest approaches, the wolf stands, his fur bristly. He show his white theeth to the party as a growl comes out from his chest.
"Daro Faingarath. Fir'gon na'mellonin." he says in low voice to the wolf in elvish. He looks to the party and adds. " M'enthonan" this seems to calm down the wolf a little bit. But he continue to look suspiciously at the party.
" Are we ready? " he says in Common to the party, just a little bit higher than when he spoke to the wolf.
Brand paced anxiously outside the gate, his mind a frenzy amid the traffic of people. He wanted to silence them all, but knew only one method which was wholely unwise at the moment. To regain controll, he began to project his attention out in all directions to gain a more broad awareness instead of pinpoint-focused.

As soon as Drak approaches the wolf he growls and show his teeth.
The elf turns to him.
"If you want to lose your hand. Go ahead, try to touch him." despites his words the elf interposes his body between the wolf and his companion. "He is no pet you know." He taps the wolf's head with one hand calming him down but the wolf looks at Draks arm as he has lost his breakfast.
"Ecuhir Men" He says to the wolf and he dissapears among the brushes alongside the road. "He will be close. Let's start our own path" says the elf in his low tone of voice. And he starts walking the road towards their destination.
