Exactly what it says on the tin. You lot are a bunch of 20th level heroes trying to defeat a powerful being (F̶r̶i̶e̶z̶a̶ The Herald) who has come to signify the end of the N̶a̶m̶e̶k̶ Cranas. Despite being only a messanger, The Herald is a formidable foe, and will prepare this world for extinction - and the once enemies of this land need to stop this being. EDIT: You will also face other powerful enemies like the Starborn, the Chosen One, the Saurian Conquerers, and others.
Create a 20th level character, don't add backstory, and try not to spend too much time on the personality. I would like it if you used my Homebrew Compendium - My homebrew Compendium - What you might want to use for your characters. Use the point buy, but the maximum in each stat is 22 (after ASI), and choose 6 feats.(7 if human)
You get your starting gp multiplied by 10 again and added to 100 gp. Choose 4 uncommon magic items, 4 rare magic items, 2 very rare ones, and if you want to, sacrifice 2 rare and 2 very rare for 1 legendary.
Mundane equipment: brewer's supplies; clothes, common, 2 sets; drum; explorer's pack; fishing tackle; 4 javelins; a figurine of a wolf, carved from an unidentifiable, indestructible material whose color changes randomly; and however much gold that gives me
Armor Class: 22
Attack: Maul: +17 to hit, 2d6+10 bludgeoning damage (2d6+14 while raging)
Attack: Javelin: +13 to hit, 1d6+7 piercing damage (1d6+11 while raging), range 30/120
Sweet, I can't wait to see how this guy plays. tbh I forgot for a moment that flurry of blows only works with unarmed attacks, so I was a little disappointed when I realized my oversight...lol
Mace of Terror: Melee Weapon Attack +5 to hit, range melee. Hit: 1d8+3 bludgeoning damage.
Equipment: Mace of Terror, Dwarven Plate, Spellguard Shield, Rope of Entanglement, Helm of Comprehending Languages, Ivory Goats Statue, Javelin of Lightning, Lantern of Revealing, Elemental Gem, Wings of Flying(r)
Traits:
Aasimar Racial Traits:
Darkvision: 60ft Darkvision
Celestial Resistance: Resistance of Necrotic and Radiant Damage
Healing Hands: Can touch a creature to heal it an amount of Hit Points = to Lvl.
Light Bearer: Can Cast the Light Cantrip, Charisma Spellcasting ability
Languages: Know Common and Celestial
Fallen Aasimar Racial Traits:
Necrotic Shroud: Can trigger an 10ft aura that forces enemies to make a Charisma Saving throw (DC=8+Charisma+Profeciency), While active can deal an additional Lvl. Necrotic damage for a single attack per round.
Palladin Traits:
Divine Sense: As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any celestial, fiend, or undead within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know the type (celestial, fiend, or undead) of any being whose presence you sense, but not its identity (the vampire Count Strahd von Zarovich, for instance). Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been consecrated or desecrated, as with the hallow spell.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your Charisma modifier. When you finish a long rest, you regain all expended uses
Lay on Hands: Your blessed touch can heal wounds. You have a pool of healing power that replenishes when you take a long rest. With that pool, you can restore a total number of hit points equal to your paladin level × 5.As an action, you can touch a creature and draw power from the pool to restore a number of hit points to that creature, up to the maximum amount remaining in your pool.
Alternatively, you can expend 5 hit points from your pool of healing to cure the target of one disease or neutralize one poison affecting it. You can cure multiple diseases and neutralize multiple poisons with a single use of Lay on Hands, expending hit points separately for each one.
Fighting Style – Defense: While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC.
(Improved) Divine Smite: Starting at 2nd level, when you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack, you can expend one spell slot to deal radiant damage to the target, in addition to the weapon’s damage. The extra damage is 2d8 for a 1st-level spell slot, plus 1d8 for each spell level higher than 1st, to a maximum of 5d8. The damage increases by 1d8 if the target is an undead or a fiend.
Whenever you hit a creature with a melee weapon, the creature takes an extra 1d8 radiant damage.
Spellcasting
Divine Health: Immune to disease.
Extra Attack
Aura of Protection: whenever you or a friendly creature within 30 feet of you must make a saving throw, the creature gains a bonus to the saving throw equal to your Charisma modifier (with a minimum bonus of +1). You must be conscious to grant this bonus.
Aura of Courage: You and friendly creatures within 30 feet of you can't be Frightened while you are conscious.
Cleansing Touch: Beginning at 14th level, you can use your action to end one spell on yourself or on one willing creature that you touch. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (a minimum of once). You regain expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Oath of Conquest Traits:
Oath of Conquest Spells Paladin Level Spells
3rd Armor of Agathys, Command
5th hold person, spiritual weapon
9th bestow curse, fear
13th dominate beast, stoneskin
17th cloudkill, dominate person
Channel Divinity:
Conquering Presence. You can use your Channel Divinity to exude a terrifying presence. As an action, you force each creature of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, a creature becomes frightened of you for 1 minute. The frightened creature can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Guided Strike. You can use your Channel Divinity to strike with supernatural accuracy. When you make an attack roll, you can use your Channel Divinity to gain a +10 bonus to the roll. You make this choice after you see the roll, but before the DM says whether the attack hits or misses.
Aura of Conquest: If a creature is frightened of you, its speed is reduced to 0 while in the aura, and that creature takes psychic damage equal to half your paladin level if it starts its turn there.
Scornful Rebuke: Whenever a creature hits you with an attack, that creature takes psychic damage equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of 0) if you’re not incapacitated
Invincible Conqueror: For one minute per long rest I can gain: Resistance to all damage, An additional attack for each attack action, A Melee weapon attacks crit on 19 & 20’s
Background
Bounty Hunter background:
Feature:You have a reliable and trustworthy contact who acts as your liaison to a network of other criminals. You know how to get messages to and from your contact, even over great distances; specifically, you know the local messengers, corrupt caravan masters, and seedy sailors who can deliver messages for you.
Personality Traits: I am incredibly slow to trust. Those who seem the fairest often have the most to hide.
Personality Traits: The best way to get me to do something is to tell me I can't do it.
Ideals: I’m loyal to my friends not to ideals, and everyone else can take a
Bond: Someone I loved died becuas of a mistake I made. That will never happen again
Flaw: I have a tell that always reveals when I’m lying
Feats
Menacing:
Increase your Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
You gain proficiency in the Intimidation skill. If you are already proficient in the skill, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks you make with it.
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one attack with an attempt to demoralize one humanoid you can see within 30 feet of you that can see and hear you. Make a Charisma (Intimidation) check contested by the target's Wisdom (Insight) check. If your check succeeds, the target is frightened until the end of your next turn. If your check fails, the target can't be frightened by you in this way for 1 hour.
Silver-Tongued:
Increase your Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
You gain proficiency in the Deception skill. If you are already proficient in the skill, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks you make with it.
When you take the Attack action on your turn, you can replace one attack with an attempt to deceive one humanoid you can see within 30 feet of you that can see and hear you. Make a Charisma (Deception) check contested by the target’s Wisdom (Insight) check. If your check succeeds, your movement doesn’t provoke opportunity attacks from the target and your attack rolls against it have advantage; both benefits last until the end of your next turn or until you use this ability on a different target. If your check fails, the target can’t be deceived by you in this way for 1 hour.
War-Caster:
You have advantage on Constitution saving throws that you make to maintain your concentration on a spell when you take damage.
You can perform the somatic components of spells even when you have weapons or a shield in one or both hands.
InWhen a hostile creature’s movement provokes an opportunity attack from you, you can use your reaction to cast a spell at the creature, rather than making an opportunity attack. The spell must have a casting time of 1 action and must target only that creature.
Tough
Your hit point maximum increases by an amount equal to twice your level when you gain this feat. Whenever you gain a level thereafter, your hit point maximum increases by an additional 2 hit points.
Master of Disguise
Increase your Charisma score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
You gain proficiency with the disguise kit. If you are already proficient with it, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks you make with it.
If you spend 1 hour observing a creature, you can then spend 8 hours crafting a disguise you can quickly don to mimic that creature. Making the disguise requires a disguise kit. You must make checks as normal to disguise yourself, but you can assume the disguise as an action.
Perceptive
Increase your Wisdom score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
You gain proficiency in the Perception skill. If you are already proficient in the skill, you add double your proficiency bonus to checks you make with it.
Being in a lightly obscured area doesn’t impose disadvantage on your Wisdom (Perception) checks if you can both see and hear.
