I am not posturing, just stating facts is all. Sorvas responds, I did not mean to frighten your friend, I have very little social interaction, I gain most of my knowledge from other....sources. As for the markings I will need to check to make sure as I did not get a good look from afar. But if it is what I believe it to be then I would have seen them in the port city of Mercadimi, the owner of a shop has this markings painted on his wall and wears it on a lapel he wears often. I slowly move over to the side and pick up a stick that is on the ground and start to draw a picture on the ground, showing the port city and our current location, at this point Agozur walks out. I travel to the city quiet often to sell things that I find Raku, the store owner. I could guide you through the mountains if you wish. I pause for a few seconds and add, For a price of course. It is almost night, so if you wish and would like to discuss it over with your friends, I will be just outside oftownImotion to the northcome first light as I do not like to stay hereI look around at the city in mild disgust. The wilderness is my home, but I cant always find what I need there so trips to town are necessary. I plan to leave by mid morning if I have not heard a response from you by then.
Listening to this new comer Agozur will release his grip onto the light crossbow on his waist and dig around in his bag. All too obviously he will begin to mark down this locations on his map and add notes to a piece of parchment based on what Sorvas has said muttering at the words he find important. "Hmmm Raku, store owner... symbols... babies... mountains... wilderness is his home..." looking up from his map and notes he will roll it back up and place them in a map storage tube.
As Ayra and Mobya enter the Edge, Ayra will head over to the table where the merchant is sitting, setting the babies down on the table. After taking a deep breath and calming herself a little, she says to her friend: "Coru's letter spoke of dark forces who seek to prevent these younglings from fulfilling their destiny. I feel that the possibility of our party being attacked one by one from the shadows could truly exist." Looking around "All these uniformed men are members of the Spires' military force. The babies should be safe in here."
Replying to Sorvas, "I believe we will have to consult our merchant companion first. When our mission for him is completed, then the other members of the group will be free to choose their paths. I, for one, am curious about this symbol you speak of on the feet of the wee ones. Having been there when they were found, i would like to continue with them until they are safe or we figure out what to do with them."
Thank you I reply to Alesandair, Maybe tomorrow your friends will be less frightened of me. It is getting late today, so I do understand. I can look over the marking more closely to make sure that they are one in the same as well. As I said I have traveled through the mountains multiple times, so I can guide you there if you can make it worthwhile for me. And with that I turn away and sayIf fate wills it, I will see all of you in morning. Good Night. Sorvas walks about 20 feet away, tword the northern passageway out ogf the city, and then vanishes into thin air with a cloud of what seems to be smoke but settles down to the ground instead of rising up. (Misty Step)
(OOC: Do we have a group private chat so we can carry over and discuss things related and talk about things we liked ect.)
"I think the majority of the group is obligated to the merchant to continue to the Spires. Corru had the letter that said to contact K in Tempori. (Not sure what that is..) I think there is a consensus that the young ones be protected, but not sure what that looks like."
"Perhaps more communication will be forthcoming from RQ. ?"
"It seems like Sorvas was offering to guide us but we haven't determined where we need to be going."
As Sorvas dissolves into the night, the four of you (Wraeven, Agozur, Alesandair, and Lil?) are left around the blanket/bedroll that Mobya had laid out on the grass to the side of The Edge, a plate of food sitting lonely at one end. Lenore flies over and lands near eat, it's black head tilting and twitching in avian custom. Following Sorvas's exeunt toward the North, your eyes are drawn toward the Spires highlighted by moonlight against the night sky--massive monoliths still looming a few miles distant.
Ayra and Mobya join the Merchant (Do you put the babies or the basket with the babies on the table?). He seems quieter than before, and as you two sit down he shares, "beehst beh ghettink to dem roohms soon. Meh tinks some uhf ouhr freents meeht nuht beh wilkome. dem Speere's fohlk nuht beh yused teh dah wohrlt's parrieetie," as he points to a few of the robed figures who appear to be indiscreetly watching you all.
[translation of merchant: "best be getting to the rooms soon. me thinks some of our friends might not be welcome. Them Spire's folk not be used to the world's variety."
Ayra had placed the basket with the babies in it on the table.
She is inwardly outraged to hear the Merchant's concerns, but concedes that with the younglings in their care it is best not to attract attention.
Wishing to complete the seemingly simple task of delivering Sprauchle's dinner to him, she returns outside and is discouraged to find Lenore now pecking at the cleric's meal. She is however relived to note that Sorvas has moved on. "The merchant thinks it best that we retire for the night" she advises her companions as she gathers up the plate and Mobya's blanket and returns inside
She returns to Crackle to request a replacement meal for the cleric, offering to pay the cost of the extra plate, and asks if he could ensure this time that it is brought to him directly.
As Ayra walks up to Lenore and the plate, the bird is close, but has not touched the food as of yet. When you take it back to Crackle, the creature will look at the plate, shrug, and push it back toward you.
[also, I know it has been late in coming, but here is the rough draft of the map, I was wanting to clean it up more and add some detail and color, but alas. Areas to the south would still be more well known to some of the party, but we can handle those and any others as they become necessary through history, religion, or nature checks.]
Ayra has had just about enough of this evening. She takes the plate again and returns to the hut with Sprauchle's now cold meal. She offers her apologies for keeping him waiting for such a ling time.
Jokingly rubbing his eyes when the mysterious person vanishes "Well do we proposition our mysterious new visitor to join us in the morning or do we move on? I think destiny has brought us and this person together for a reason, no matter how forward they are."
Opening an empty coin purse Agozur will offer a smile towards his party "Well friends looks like I'll be sleeping with the cart again tonight, maybe I shouldn't have given ALL of my money to our bugbear friends." turning to walk towards the cart, offering a chuckle and mumbling to himself "Destiny has it's own sense of humor."
Agozur looks for the carts and remembers that Morn and Silv'ar took them to the stables.
You all watch as Ayra rushes back out, grabs the plate, runs into the in, then back out and to the small hut. [Perhaps a vein is popping on her otherwise smooth elven complexion, but its hard to tell in the moonlight.]
Ayra as you rush over to the cleric, you note that he has your small talisman glowing in the moonlight. He turns to you slowly and with a wide and comforting smile, in his steady drawl, "Thank you, Sprauchle appreciates you, dearie. Please set it there on the little table," he asks while motioning toward a small wicker table with a flat crosscut piece of maple. "This is quite the item you found. I was able to divine a few things about it, but I get the sense that it is more than a mere trinket, surely, but only one who has goodness in them will note its abilities. It imbues the wearer who is unburdened by the evil of the world with the power to float up or fall gently" (feather fall, levitate). The emblem stop glowing a soft yellow as he returns it to you, smiling with his thin-lined lips. Placing a hand on your shoulder, his face will soften and also become more serious. "My dear, I do not believe a Harpy to be the true owner of this medallion. Unfortunately the creature you took this off of likely found it or more likely took it from it's original owner. Perhaps an elf or one of the mountain pájaro people." With that he will reach for the plate you brought, and smile again as he looks up, closing his eyes and stretching his tortoise like wrinkled neck up nearly to the thatch roof. He stays that way for minutes and even as you begin to leave.
Sorvas as you disappear to the North, you are surrounded by fields and fields of tall stalks and farmland. About a quarter mile to the south of The Clearing's Edge (Military inn) with it's stables, is the line of 3-4 ft diameter logs you know as the Barrier, where farmland and long grass stop and the wilds of the forest begin. The Barrier runs curving around to the East and the West. Your gaze is then brought North again to the Large edifice of The Writ Spires the central seat of government for the realm, a thriving metropolis running a few hundred feet up the side of a large bluff and into the night sky.
(ooc: Just for clarification, it only works on the person who wields it, not for use on someone else from a distance correct? Also if someone is holding on to you are they also affected? If so does the same concept of being "unburdened by evil" apply if the user is good, or will it also then refuse an evil person? Just trying to clarify for the future.)

Sorvas, would not be aware of these things or that the emblem exists at all ;)
Standard feather fall and levitate spell descriptions apply though. So it gives her the ability to cast those spells.
