"I can respect that. Glasstaff is a nuisance, a cockroach. The townspeople are itching to be rid of him. It seems as if HIS nonsense is at YOUR door. Perhaps you can help us remove him?"
Petros moves over to where Pops is standing and whispers "Do you not hear the voice? It speaks of Glasstaff and, from what I can gather, is a very powerful being." Anticipating a snarky remark from Pops regarding Petros' sanity: "Yes, in addition to the other voices in my head. Beyond the one that tells me to never trust a rogue!"
The voice now enters Pops head. "I don't think so. You came into my home. You will leave. Now." Pops can feel a burning sensation in his head. Pops, give me a Charisma (Deception) check against 19. If you lose, the creature will learn one factual secret about Pops.
Petros watches as Pops winces in pain. He does his best to reason with the voice "No need to resort to violence. I am positive we can reach a mutually beneficial agreement. You will help us with Glasstaff. This will buy us much influence with the townsfolk. In return, we can ensure you are not bothered again if that is what you want. What do you say?"
Petros turns to Pops "You okay Pops? Just say 'Rumpelstiltskin' and maybe it will go away!"
The creature will laugh in Pops head for a moment. "Though not as powerful as me, Glasstaff is more powerful than any rat you may have slain in the past."
To Petros: "No, no violence." The creature will move out a bit further from his hiding, still speaking telepathically. "Glasstaff is in his quarters to the north west. That is all I can give you. I will not leave here."
Petros takes a step closer, judging the reaction of the creature. Despite the creature's reticence, Petros can't help but feel encouraged by the fact that it chose to reveal itself. "If we can manage to lure Glasstaff here will you join us in dispatching him. You are clearly a very powerful being. WIll you help us?"
"You need some lunch?" he calls to the creature. "I gotta couple of snacks for you. Souls are a little trickier, but bodies we can provide."
(Quietly, to Petros:) "I'm gonna go next door and drag back one of the Redbrands we just took down and feed it to our friend here. You guys okay for a sec?"
“Bodies would be pleasant, bug killer...” the voice says. “Just throw them to the bottom there.”
As Pops turns around, the secret door bursts open. Mirna, holding her children by the hand, rushes into the room. “The door is stuck! We’re trapped in here!”In her haste, Mirna begins to push past Pops.
Petros and Sven notice the eye of the creature open wide at the sudden intrusion.
Sven having been holding back blocks the way and keeps Mirna from passing and whispers to her "We're not alone, don't push this or it may go badly. Go back through the door and I'll follow you back."

Pops
Pops quickly takes Mirna by the elbow and escorts her and the kids back through the secret door.
His plan: To lead them back to the cell room and converse with them; either explaining how the door was jammed and helping them understand how to unjam it; or failing that, to convince them to hide in their cells, and pretend the doors are locked, until we return. (Persuasion: 8) Either way, he'll then drag one of the dead Redbrands back and throw it in the pit.
(As a last resort, he'll peak into the other room to check on the party, and if there's no combat, escort the family all the way back - carefully avoiding the trap - and help them unjam the door.)
Petros assumes the creature is agitated and decides it best to disengage. He helps Pops and Sven coral Mirna and the children. "Perhaps we should find Glasstaff on our own and get out of here!"
Sven and Petros follow Mirna and her children back. Pops begrudgingly follows before stopping in with the dead Redbrands. Sven is able to remove the piton and allow the family out the door. Sven and Petros come back to help Pops with dragging the body into the cavern.
After helping Pops with the body he heads toward the northernmost bridge in the cavern. "It seems our hungry friend here is content to leave us alone. Let's see if we can find Glasstaff and throw his lifeless body into the pit." Petros will cross the wooden bridge, carefully placing each foot so as not to make any noise.

Pops
Without taking his eyes of the column, he mutters quietly and flatly to Petros, "You talkin' to someone?"

Deception: 17
Pops winces and holds his hand to his temple.
"We would very much like to leave now, believe me. We just need to remove Glassstaff. If you can help us, it'd go a whole lot faster."
In a quieter voice, to Petros: "Petros, maybe you can persuade him."
(OOC: Factual secret:)
Pops may come off as a professional rogue, but he's actually worked as a household rodent exterminator most of his life.

Pops
Pops raises an eyebrow. He hasn't seen a creature the likes of this thing before.
"What makes Glasstaff so powerful? Also - besides us leaving - which we will, very soon - what can we do for you?"
Petros
Petros takes a step closer, judging the reaction of the creature. Despite the creature's reticence, Petros can't help but feel encouraged by the fact that it chose to reveal itself. "If we can manage to lure Glasstaff here will you join us in dispatching him. You are clearly a very powerful being. WIll you help us?"
To Pops: "You can bring me souls to feed on. Glasstaff provides bodies for me and the Redbrands never seem to be at a loss for bodies."
To Petros: "I am not going to help you finish Glasstaff, if indeed that is your intention. I have made a deal with Glasstaff."

Pops
Pops will dump the body - very carefully into the pit. (What's in the pit? How deep is it?)
He will keep his eyes peeled for any movement. (Where is the creature now?)
Then he will back up to the crates to the north.
"Lunchtime, buddy!"
Petros
After helping Pops with the body he heads toward the northernmost bridge in the cavern. "It seems our hungry friend here is content to leave us alone.
