Ackam nods at Daran's answers. He finishes off is mug of ale and pours himself another glass, his eyelids slowly becoming slits. "Darna, can ya tell us about da victims? Anything dat might seem like a pattern o' sorts? Are dey tagerting certain types o' people?"
Darna thinks for a moment Well, they haven’t taken any children that we know of, or the elderly. They’ve taken more men than women. Mostly able bodied men... could they be using them for something? But what?
Aedra has been silently taking notes on everything and everyone around her, but decides to chime in after the question, "A labor force, perhaps? Could be a reason for taking the poor. The wealthy are useless when left with nothing but their own two hands."
Darna stares a Aedra for a time. You could be right, some kind of unskilled labor could make sense. It would explain why no bodies have turned up. Darna thinks for a moment. But for what? Whatever it is it’s been happening for weeks, possibly months. We must get to the bottom of this quickly.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Agency's tail had been tapping faster and faster as the conversation went on. Eventually, she hopped off her seat in a huff, Well lets get to it then. Unless you all have anymore questions, I am about ready to head over to see this Desguin fellow and get this over with.
Darna, are there any supplies that you can provide for us to get started? This doesn't exactly seem like an easy task you're asking of us and we may need the support.
Quite right, best to be under way. As for provisions, if there’s anything you need specifiacally for the task at hand Mikkael can purchase it for you if he deems fit. You can reach me at our home in Silver Branch if you have any further questions. Best of luck to you. And may the Gods watch over you. Darna gets up and heads to the door as she reaches it she nods at two cloaked men who you notice are clearly disguised men at arms and they head out the door.
Agency eyes Bastion up and down a few times. Well he seems like he's been through a bit so wherever he goes I go. She pats Bastion's arm. Mind leading the way... big, tall, and rusty? I believe Varris has got the right idea about checking out that witness first.
BASTION glances down at Agency's hand on its arm. Though its musculature is not apparent beneath the heavy shielding - it seems to tense up a bit. "Forgive my correction, but if given thorough inspection you will find that though my body may be hundreds, or perhaps thousands of years old - you will find no apparent oxidation. Perhaps a scuff - from wear and tear here and there. But no rust. It is well within my parameters to take point in leading a group into combat - however since awakening I have generally found myself tasked to complete requests like this on my own. I would feel... not entirely certain my choice would be the best for the entire party. My past employers have found my intimidating stature to be of great use, but I understand that not all of you share my exterior fortitude. If pressed - I would agree that our contacts in the poorer areas of town are our highest priorities as they still may be in danger and we should acquire all the information we can."
After BASTION finishes - it becomes painfully clear that this may be the most it has said at one time in a while. Without actual breath it lets out a small sigh and its eyes move slowly about the group for some sort of affirmation. It picks up its mug in one giant hand and mimics the act of taking a sip of ale. The long flat and warm beverage trickles down its chin.
Before we walk out the door, let’s decide on a walking order. This will be your default order unless otherwise stated. Also lol Bastion has a drinking problem.
"Seems like these shadowy folk're harvestin these poor basterds in teh slummins, Oi agree we should be off as quickee as'ee can. Mickle!"Earthhand turns his gaze toward the cleric Mikkael. "Thinkin'ee could fine me a pair o' handaxes wrought o' good honest wood 'n bone, or is that outta reach 'ere among yeh city gummers? As ter our plan, Oi'm perflecty in favor o' takin up teh rear; Oi've ne'er been much o' a silver tongue but Oi've a keen eye fer folk acreepin up on us and Oi'm plenty prepared ter give 'em a good thumpin with this'n 'ere shillelagh. And Oi agree with this hunk o' steel, teh slummins seem teh best place ter start."
Do we have to be single-file, or are you looking for a general formation?

Ackam gets up from his seat stumbling a little from all the ale he's been drinking. "Aye, I'm ready ta head out and lead the way with ol' bucket head,"Ackam says with a slight slur. He looks over at Mikkael. "Add to Earthhand's list any potions of healing that might come in handy." Ackam looks about the rest of his companions. "We are all in agreement ta make our ways to da fella Rastave?"
I vote that we walk a column or a diamond, but Ackam wants to be up front with whomever. So maybe Ackam and Bastion, Earthhound in the back either Varris or Aedra, and in the middle put Agency and the other sorcerer who is not in the back. Thoughts?
Varris stands up, wraps his tunic over his robes, and prepares to depart with the group.
A potential labor force, this is most perturbing indeed...we must commence our investigation post haste. Shall make our way towards this Geddik fellow and inquire further about who, or even, what we are to be looking for? In terms of how we shall arrange ourselves - I think I am best suited to being in the middle of the group but am open to any and all suggestions from the more combat oriented folk among us.
My damage is all long range (60 ft+) but my buffs are mostly touch so I'm probably most useful in a position where I can get to the entire group. However, I have +6 persuasion so in town I might be best to be near the front so I can put that work? I'm open to whatever people think is best.
As they gather to head out, Ackam walks over to Varris and slaps him on the back. "Aye, aye, maybe it's a work force, or maybe a bunch of human sacrifices, or worse, an army of men who have been cast under da spell of some hack wizard."Ackam smiles and then hiccups.
Mikkael snaps his fingers. Potions, ah yes, I nearly forgot. He reaches into his bag and pulls a smaller bag filled with still smaller bags out. Here, pass this around. there’s one for these for each of you. Inside you’ll find a potion of minor healing, a cure poison potion, and 10 gold pieces. As far as axes go, must they to bone? We could probably find bone axes somewhere in the city, but time is of the essence at the moment. I’d agree that seeing this Desguin is the best place to start. We’ve not much to go on yet in the Coldust district. I do know one fellow we can talk to down there, but he’s not around much during the day...
The Coldust district is the name of the poor part of the city in the south east. Here’s Mikkael’s new text color, he didn’t realize he’d stolen Ackam’s
I take it jokes aren't in your parameters then? Well rust or not I still say you lead the way, at least to protect Varris here. Don't worry I'll still be behind you. Oh uh you might want to wipe up before we head out. , Agency responds to Bastion slightly sarcastically.

Changed my color to something mo' different!

I’d say two abreast would be best for getting down the city streets. Don’t worry about cha checks, you can always move up for those.

So I think it should be in marching order:
Bastion Ackam
Varris Agency
Aedra Earthhand

The metal ban is only for armor and shields, swing away with that steel, brother Druid!
