"Good, good then. I'll be heading out tihnight on horse, so I'll see ye in a few days. The carts are waiting innae barn near tha' southern entrance to tha' city. There ye'll meet two others, they'll be helping ye on this little supply run. The carts are scheduled tah leave 2 hours aff'er daybreak, so get up early."
Turning to Ivanna, Gundren throws a coinpurse her way, which she snatches out of the air offhandedly "Seems a little heavy for damages Gundren, what is this?" she asks with and inquisitive eyebrow raised.
"Damages, rent, and food. Me new hires'll be staying here tha night, so treat 'em good 'eh?" He replies with a smirk and a wink.
Ivanna, glowering with rage, stared holes through the dwarf's head, or at least she attempted to. "FINE." she forces through clenched teeth. "But no more messes from them or we'll have problems Gundren."
"Aye, aye!" he chuckles, "Be on yer best behavior now you two, yer on company time now!" And with that, he marches off towards the exit.
"Alright you, I think you've caused enough damage for the night, I'd head up to your rooms upstairs, 1B and 2C should be free, I'll have someone bring up some food for you later tonight, and someone to wake you for breakfast in the morning. Sounds like you've a busy day tomorrow, and If I knew Gundren half as well as I do, you'll need all the rest you can get." Ivanna chides the two remaining members of the group.
You can all take a Long Rest! there should be a button for that on your character sheets, this will restore your HP and spell slots!
After Ivanna has some of the help wake you up and serve you breakfast, you are led by one of the waiters from last night (The one who ran away apparently) to the barn you were told about. inside wait 2 carts, pulled by 2 oxen each, sitting inside on the carts is Demitric, and two others, a Kenku, and Tiefling.
(you may now introduce yourselves, assign who rides in which carts, who drives, and the cart order on the road)
(characters can ride inside of, or march outside of the carts, hang back, walk alongside, or scout ahead)
It's not a problem. No, driving these wagons requires no skill or checks, two oxen pull each wagon, and they stop automatically if there is no driver.
Each wagon has 4 seats, the driver and navigator positions are seats in the fronts of the wagons, with space in the back to (cramped) seat 2. Players can also walk alongside, ahead of, behind of the carts, as well as scout ahead.
The party can move 24 miles in one day at a normal pace. Decreasing the pace to "slow" lowers it to 18 miles per day, but allows for advantage on passive perception rolls, foraging, or to travel in stealth. Increasing the pace to 27 miles per day "fast" gives you disadvantage on passive perception rolls and foraging. The pace "BOOK IT" allows for travel of 30 miles per day, has the same negative consequences as "fast" and adds 1 level of exaustion to the party per day of travel like this (.5 If using mounts not carrying excessive cargo)
You also have the option of choosing whether you travel by day or by night.
"Its a pleasure to meet the both of you, hopefully you have a higher tolerance for puns than Jared."
I glace from Demitric back to Tungol,
"I'd prefer him to think he got blackout drunk to save us from unnecessary inter-party conflict, but between you and me, Jared headbutted the punster into oblivion last night."
I stride over to the carriage,
" I can drive but can someone split driving time with me?"
Next to the drivers seats a note is nailed to a beam supporting the canopy of each wagon, the notes read as such:
"Follow the High Road south, until you reach the triboar trail. Follow that for a bit until you see a branching road headed south, take that and you'll reach Phandalin."
I nod at Demetric, adjust my belongings so my daggers and rod are easily accessible and hang back as the wagons start to roll forward. I observe the immediate area to get my bearings and start to move forward myself.

The next morning...

I wave to those approaching and motion to myself.
"Tungol"
The voice sounds a bit high and nasally.
Tungol
TONGUE-ol, hehe..
I chuckle to myself before gripping my head, still aching.
So, did that Gundren feller buy us a round last night? Cause I can't seem to remember after I accepted the job, and I've got this splitting headache.
Eh, if anyone needs me, I'll be trying to sleep this off in one of the carts, I can't drive like this, or march for that matter.
I groan as I plop back down into the cart.
(What's the seating like for the carts, and do we need a skill or check to drive? Animal handling I presume?)
((I thought I posted this at 8, but apparently it didn't take, sorry))

" I can drive but can someone split driving time with me?"
I give the dwarf a sidelong glance before turning back to the more magical-looking elf.
"Not me. Scout."
Tungol
I exit the carriage and approach the others.
"I am Alteria. It looks like you all are already acquainted," I say glancing over each person.
"I prefer to keep up the rear, but I can share some driving time if necessary."
Alteria
"Name's Jared. I like to hit things."
I look to the elf in the cart.
"Demitric." I say, nodding in acknowledgment.
Jared
"Like to hit the road?"
I hop over to the front of the carts.
Tungol
“Of course, Jared, would you mind navigating? In the front, AWAY from Demitric.”
I slide into the front of the cart and tap beside me
"Can do"
I climb onto the cart
Jared
Then I guess I'm driving the second? Uhf.
I can swap with Alteria when needed. I'll take the first run I guess.
I mumble as I walk through the canopy to the front of the cart.

"Follow the High Road south, until you reach the triboar trail. Follow that for a bit until you see a branching road headed south, take that and you'll reach Phandalin."
So, to be clear, the order is:
Tungol
1st cart:
Narissa, Jared
,
2nd cart:
Demitric,
,
Alteria
I nod at Demetric, adjust my belongings so my daggers and rod are easily accessible and hang back as the wagons start to roll forward. I observe the immediate area to get my bearings and start to move forward myself.
Alteria
Alright. What Pace will you guys be going for?
“I say we start at a normal pace. Are you sure you are fine to drive Demitric?”
I very much doubt the oxen will just ram themselves into a tree. I'll be fine.
Somnnier Prolvic - A happy merchant of the world.
"Yes. Let's move."
