"Almost...there...almost...." the fighter grunts with each swing and block from his shield (If the target of the statue's attack is within 5' of Kirinar, he would use his Protection fighting skill (While wielding a shield and a creature you can see attacks a target other than you within 5 ft., you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll.) He presses his attack with the rest of the party, raining blows and strikes against the animated statue.
With the gladitator restrained and unable to properly defend itself the party lays into it. In short order you have hacked the clay golem to pieces and a fourth bronze spear falls to the ground. As you finish you look warily about for another gladiator to attack but all is quiet.
“Good job, friends. Good job.” Ransyl uses his axe to keep himself propped up. “Maybe these bronze spears do something, they’re part of this puzzle.” He holds his side.
"Let's check out the rest of this level, and then take a short rest before fitting these spears into the statues above us. Just in case..." Kirinar suggests. If the group agrees, he will step cautiously around the corner where the golems came from, looking at what might lie beyond.
“I’m ok with resting, Ransyl limps around the room, collecting the bronze spears and inspecting the room more carefully now that there is not an immediate threat.
Inspecting the rest of the shrine you follow the hallway across the pit and find the hallway contains four cramped cells behind iron portcullises. The portcullises are locked in place. As you look around you are suddenly alarmed to see the clay golem gladiators reforming inside the cells. But this time they do not have the bronze spears in their hands. Looking back at the fighting pit the 4 spears still lay on the ground.

"Ah but let me have a look at that wound - best we fix it before an infection sets in" Dr A says to Ransyl as he casts Cure Wounds for 5 of healing.
