This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Round Two:
Scamper:
Scamper slices the creature across its soft belly with her "lance". It seems baffled that such a small creature could do so much damage and snaps at Scamper. Attack: 7 Damage: 9 . It once again only catches the air.
Lizard: -17
Henry and Scamper can roll initiative now. The guard joins combat next round
(This is assuming I can avoid Scamper with the splash.)
Henry calls out to Scamper, "We are going to have a long chat about how to not die after this, assuming we survive!"
Henry pulls out one of his water skins, pours a few drops of water into his hand. Chanting in Aquan, he turns his hand over. As the water stretches out, ready to drop off, it freezes into an ice shard. He then grabs the shard and throws it at the lizard. As it hits the lizard, it explodes in an icy cloud. Ice Knife
Scamper crawls out from under the lizard and skitters over to the corner next to the cowering human. She tries to get a look at his book while she catches her breath.
"...We are Scamper... did human see more rotten lizards?"
The human, who was cowering in his corner for the entirety of the fight, stands up. His book is titled Volo's Guide to Monsters and has an illustration of a Fire Giant on the cover.
"No, I didn't see any more. Thank you guys so much! I think I would have been eaten if you hadn't stepped in. I'm Volothamp Geddarn, but you can call me Volo." He stops to think "Here. Take this"He reluctantly hands you his book. "This is a copy of my latest work, Volo's Guide to Monsters."
(Also, for record purposes, what is Henry's purse sitting at?"
Henry wanders over to the man and Scamper. "Quite handy in a fight, aren't you? Would still advise against repeating that kind reaction, without at least finding help."he says to Scamper. Seeing the book in Scamper's claws, "May I?" he says, asking if he can examine the book.
All of a sudden, the door to Kaya's slams open and Gimdir leaps out in his underpants, with battleaxe and shield in hands. He roars over to the dead lizard yelling, "Moradin be smiting you overgrown lizards!" Gimdir sprints and leaps onto the corpse, yelling and foaming at the mouth as he hacks into the body for several minutes.
Jasuri runs to grab his armor, taking the stairs two at a time on the way down. He dashes through the front door and down the street, spellbook in one hand and mace in the other, only to skid to a stop when he realizes he's missed the fight. "Is anyone in need of healing." He calls out. He's going to cast spare the dying first on anyone that needs it and then a cure wounds (to heal 9 points) and a false life (to give 7 temporary hit points) on the two people most injured assuming no-one in the party is hurt, If they are I'll start with them.
[I probably should have slowed down with that combat sorry about that.]
[Henry gained 16 gold from the card game because the other players ran away. That leaves him at 41 gold]
When Musharib sees that you have dealt with the lizard, he goes back to sleep.
Volo thanks Scamper for helping him up and answers her question "Monsters like these roam the jungle. This guy must have been really strong. The gates usually hold up really well. Anyway, this lizard was...a large deinonychus."
When he flips through the book, Henry sees various drawings and descriptions of animals and monsters. This is exactly the kind of book a wizard like Henry would enjoy reading. However, his enjoyment is cut short because when Gimdir begins to hack at the now-fully-dead undead lizard, 5 zombies spring out of its belly! It appears that the zombies, which were eaten by the lizard, fell dormant in its belly. But, Gimdir hacked open the lizard, allowing the undead to spill out.
Roll Initiative!
(Check the Campaign page thing for how I'm going to run combat)
The people of this area, who were just starting to come out of their hiding spots have once again retreated to safety. The guards protecting the city are still nowhere to be found.
She rolls on the ground and stabs at it again, still partially closing her eyes and shrieking. It is perhaps the least graceful thing anyone has seen.
Attack : 23 Damage : 10

Lizard DEX save: 8 . The lizard takes 11 damage and collapses in a heap.
The lizard tries to bite Scamper before Henry can throw his Ice Knife. Attack: 12 . Damage: 10
I should note, Henry is the maximum distance from the lizard that he can.
(OOC: The lizard is dead right?)

(OOC: This is hilarious because one of my other characters is just meeting Volo as well.)
Scamper takes the book and chews on the corner a little bit, then stuffs it in her pack.
"We thank you nice mammal! Happy to help, Gaknulak is protector of all things, like Scamper! We are friends with the nice mammal now?"
She extends her hand in what she thinks is the proper greeting.

Scamper looks up at Henry.
"We thank you mean-mammal-friend, for killing the rotten-lizard. Here look at gift nice-mammal-friend gives us!"
She hands the tome over to Henry (aka mean-mammal-friend).

Henry gladly takes the book and starts flicking through the pages, completely zoning out.
(Darn, missed out on the fun.)
