Gasping in pain at the unexpected claw attack Conor's balance threatens to desert him, then as a huge hand rushes out to grab him he tries to avoid it risking his position further.
Acrobatics 12
As the meaty hand closes around him Conor's eye widen in fear, throwing himself into freeing himself as quickly as possible he wriggles adn twists trying to escape.
Alexia gulps as the girallon grabs her. She takes a deep breath and vanishes in a puff of silver mist (Misty Step), reappearing on a different branch thirty feet away. She backs up even more from the ape, crying "The other one's coming back on the ground! Look out!" Much more quietly, she adds, "I'm sorry," as she sends a bolt of green energy at the creature holding Conor.
No matter how hard he tries to wriggle free, the beast has a firm grip on Conor. The beast snarls as Alexia disappears from its hand in a silvery mist, then screeches as a bolt of force slams into the side of its torso, accompanied by the sharp snap of a cracking rib!
Contested Grapple vs Conor:24
[OoC]: Once Arcast has taken a turn, the first group of round 2 will be up!
For clarity: The bigger creature is 60ft up in the canopies grappling Conor. Alexia is also in the trees but on a branch 30ft from the creature. Valen is out in the camp, near the outskirts where the mules are held. Lucina is stood near the firepit, amidst the tents which are now soaked with oil. Alexia has called a warning that the second beast is returning to the fight, with her Sprite familiar hot on its heels.
(With the clarified battlefield, Valen will stand ready with his Spiritual Weapon for when the next enemy comes back)

Lucina looks up towards the creature, seeing it grasping Conor as well. She quickly thinks of another spell to use, muttering softly to herself as she casts Chill Touch hoping it would hit the creature.
Galius will look around and see that help is needed up in the trees. His eyes, hair, and skin begin to glow such that it almost looks as though a ray of sunlight has come down through the night on him. Arc's eldritch blast takes the creature straight in the chest, causing it to falter backwards. It quickly stabilises itself with its tail and roars loudly in response, it's grip tightening on the squirming rogue. As it does, a similar hand of spectral frost wraps around the beast's throat, withering away the fur where the fingers grasp.
The three mercenaries burst from their tents. The taller man, who happens to be the youngest, runs towards Valen and almost stumbles on a root as he fumbles with a strap of his armour. As he reaches Valen, he looks up towards Galius in awe, shading his eyes. This appears to be the first time that he's seen the true power unleashed by sunblessed blood. Nevertheless, he un-slings his crossbow and takes aim and lets loose an arrow at the dark shapes battling in the treetops, burying the bolt into a tree trunk with an echoing 'thunk'.
Lenk, the smaller of the two dark-skinned brothers, accompanies the younger mercenary. He also raises a crossbow to his shoulder and fires into the trees, catching the primate with the bolt along the side of its face.
Lenk Ranged Attack: Attack: 5 Damage: 2
The older mercenary with the scarred cheek slices open Ishaz's tent, and grabs the startled seafolker. Shoving him to his feet he practically drags the aquatic caravan master over to where Valen is making a stand. Despite their youth, the mercenaries seem to know what they are doing and do not panic too much. Ishaz on the other hand is a blubbering mess, jumping at every sound as he is escorted to the edge of camp.
As the trickle of oil reaches the firepit, a blanket of flame rips through the tent area with a loud 'whooshing' sound, hungrily licking at anything and everything that the oil managed to coat. The fire illuminates the whole area and throws a pillar of blazing orange fifteen feet into the air, scorching the roots of the tree that the camp was nestled in. Unfortunately, Ladle and Azrael had not managed to make it out of their tents in time, and Lucina was concentrating on unleashing her magic to help her friend that she did not notice the oil.
[OoC]: Lucina, Azrael and Ladle make DC14 Dexterity saving throws. Ladle and Azrael have disadvantage for being inside their tents. A successful save results in receiving half damage.

Meanwhile, the creature in the trees bleeds from wounds and breathes raggedly. It lifts it large muscular arm and throws Conor towards the ground. As he tumbles towards the jungle floor near to the blazing camp, he attempts to grab one of the vines passing by him during the fall.
Conor Strength save:2
Unfortunately, luck is not with him and he can't catch purchase. He plummets into the undergrowth near the wagons with a sickening crunch.
Fall Damage: 22
The beast then turns its attention to Alexia, ripping through vine and branch as it barrels towards her through the dense canopy, its bloodshot eyes narrowed in bestial anger. As it reaches her, it raises its massive arms, each the length of a man, and swings wildly at her in a flurry of claws and foaming saliva. The claws wickedly rip at the half-elf, shearing through her arm, leaving her bloodied and within an inch of her life.

Valen, you hear the sound of heavy battering footsteps to your right. Turning you see another of the creatures, the female, dashing madly towards your group. It screeches, flinging itself into the air and lands amongst your entourage, matching its mate with a wild flurry of claws at anybody it can catch with its large reach. The wild fury is not aimed well and few of the attacks swing wide of their mark. The scarred mercenary takes a gash across his abdomen, dropping him to his knees as it winds him. A wild claw rakes out and catches Ishaz across the throat, who falls to the ground and rolls, grasping his neck as dark red blood spurts from between his fingers.
