As the acid blisters and boils the skin of his snowy simulacrum, Damián - in no less pain from the attack- draws his rapier and utters a curse in infernal. Shadows leap from the swamp around them and cover Balzavur. He has been Cursed by the Hexblade(Hexblade's Curse).
Damián then strikes with his rapier, now sheathed in booming energy (Booming Blade).

(I crit on a roll of 19 with hexblade's curse up, so here's an extra damage die roll) 2
The crowd cheers! Atom fails to defend against the acid and fire, and falls as Damian strikes Balzavur with a finishing blow! A loud boom of thunder rings in everyone’s ears, then that pain again as you are put back in your bodies. The army retreats, and Damian is picked up by the crowd!
Balzavur, Atom, you get 25 gold and a handshake.
Damian, you can take anything in chapter 5 of the PHB, any non-magical armor, and ammo is automatically returned. You only get one thing though, so choose wisely. Oh, and I almost forgot, level up to level 2!

As Damián is picked up by the crowd, he almost loses his lunch. This is not what he expected when he came to the arena. He looks around and tries to find the one face he was hoping would be watching in the crowd, but she's not there. The victory is hollow without her to witness it, so Damián resolves to return and fight again.
At the next day, the Arena of Beasts changes once more, into a massive Arctic. This time there is no Goal, but a hazard. 1 Horns. Horns blare loudly, causing disruption behind the scenes. All sleeping spells and charming spells will not work.
The Arena stinks with a horrible smell, and it is freezing. Fire damage is reduced by half, and spending a turn (starting or ending in) water will make you take 2 cold damage. The sun is also harsh. Perception and stealth checks will be made with disadvantage unless you are blind.

Each dot is 5ft from the next one. Moving diagonally takes 5ft of movement, then 10, then 5, etc. If I have R at A4, he can move to E4, D7, etc.
The arena roars with excitement! When you are ready, state your position in either row #A or L, and roll initiative after all preparations.
(either type it out like this [ roll ] 1d20+3 [ /roll ] but without the spaces and that die can be any number, and +3 is an ability score, or you use the roller on DnD beyond. either way, the outcome changes depending on your stats.)
