Halben smiles to Gundren and says "We will take care of it, don't you worry. I would like to talk to you more before we depart to stop the spider, but first let me hear what they have to say about their mission."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Before the 1 minute wears off of Halben hears the following Leosin thought as Halben finishes his sentence as Leosin puts his hand on his forehead.
"What is it with these spellcasters and their inability to keep things secret!"
Fawn finishes saying that she requests more details and Leosin removes his palm from his forehead smirks and faintly says.
"Information before action. I like this one even more." says Leosin.
Trilena is chasing Pip around laughing and the little one falls and seems to have injured his leg. Sildar sees this and walks over and kneels down and begins to help the Pip.
Gundren shakes his head at Fawn.
"I'm sorry lassy. I've told ye pretty much all I know. I was ridin' down the Triboar when arrows came outta nowhere! The little green ones overran Sildar and me and knocked us out. I woke up gagged and got clobbered again till I got to the castle. Then there was this Drow lady questioning me asking if anyone else knew about the cave's location! I wouldn't give up me brothers but she said the Black Spider was already at the Cave! That's why I'm fearin' fer their lives." says Gundren.
Gundren leans over wincing in pain.
"I'm getting tired. I'll be at the Shrine of Luck with the sisters. Please hurry for me brothers." says Gundren slightly defeated.
"We must go. The rain may come soon." says Leosin.
You all make your way toward the edge of town with Leosin, Daran, and Lady Wintercrest. The clouds even darker. You look back at the happy faces of everyone. Sildar is sitting there with Pip on his knee in the town center trying to make the boy laugh to take his mind off what you believe to be a twisted ankle by the way he's favoring it. Gundren hobbles off toward the shrine. Cypress looks into the clouds as they seem to be moving... abnormally? But he doesn't see anything out of the ordinary.
As you walk you turn as you hear screams. Someone is pointing up in the air and out of the sky appears a Young White Dragon!
It begins to descend on Phandalin. It's so high and from the edge of town you are pretty much helpless. The dragon let's a roar and then continues to make noises. As Halben understands Draconic he can make this out to be laughter! The Dragon descends in the town square. Even from this distance you can tell Sildar, Trilena, and Pip are sitting ducks and have no where to run. The dragon seems to inhale and Sildar grabs Trilena and Pip and shoves them behind the well leaving himself exposed.
He turns to face the dragon as it releases and cone of freezing ice!

Sildar through self sacrifice is covered in Ice and is frozen in place next to the well where he sheltered Trilena and Pip. Screams are everywhere and Halben hears the laugh very faint as the Dragon swoops out. The dragon begins to circle outside of Phandalin when he seems to dart down quickly and comes back up with something in his claws and then flies away... leaving chaos behind. People are running toward the town center, some to console Trilena and Pip, some to look at the now frozen and most likely dead body of Sildar, but most are flocking to the Townmaster's Hall to speak to Harbin.
Leosin breaks the silence, "A... A dragon..A live dragon here? We must go now. Lady Wintercrest, we must leave immediately. Alert your caravan. You three come with me now. There is nothing you can do for your friend. You will have time to mourn but you cannot right now if you wish to make a difference!"
Leosin pulls out a steel symbol which has a harp in between a crescent moon. "I am a Harper Agent investigating the Cult of the Dragon's operations in the area. There, a show of good faith now come."
Daran says, "Go to my farm. Leosin, I will meet you there. I need to help my people."
Daran heads toward the town center to do what he can.
Halben will follow and say "Let us hurry. I am interested to hear what you have to say, but there seems to be more dangers that are approaching so we have not time to waste."
You make your way to Daran's plantation. As Leosin closes the door you the screams start to muffle out. Leosin turns to you and adjusts a silver ring on his finger. He takes a deep breathe encourages you to sit and then paces around the room as he talks.
"I understand your desire to make haste. Because of this, I will not hold back and I hope that you will repay me with knowledge of your own. I could talk all day but I will be brief."
"I belong to the Harpers. We are an old organization that has cells and lone operators all throughout Faerun. We focus on gathering information and ensuring that no one gains too much power as that leads to corruption. Lately, I have been investigating an organization known as the Cult of the Dragon and have received word that some of their operatives were in this area. Unfortunately, I have been unable to locate these operatives."
"The Cult of the Dragon was founded by a powerful wizard called Sammaster long ago. My organization the Harpers killed Sammaster but his cult lived on. The Cult of the Dragon believes that one day dead dragons shall rule the world entirely and focus on reanimating dead dragons as dracoliches. The key word is they work with dead dragons which I don't think the operatives I was tracking have anything to do with this attack."
"The storm however and the dragon's timing is concerning. You see, like the Cult of the Dragon anytime you get enough of these religious nuts together they become dangerous. I was speaking with Lady Wintercrest earlier about the raids. It seems the half-orc spellcasters of Neverwinter wood who are worshipers of Talos the Storm God have started working with tribes of Orcs. Before, they were more of a nuisance and just made storms occasionally but with a horde behind them they can become dangerous. I do not know the relation and do not have time currently to investigate."
"The mission you have been asking of is where I will need to take Daran, Lady Wintercrest, and myself to Greenest. It's a slightly larger town about six tenday north of Phandalin. Daran is a member of the Order of the Gauntlet. Lady Wintercrest being an agent of one of the most rich organizations the Lionshield Coister has connections to bring attention to this matter. The Harpers normally do not work with anyone else but I hope to use Daran's contacts in Greenest together with mine to form some type of alliance. The Cult of the Dragon has been active and making many movements lately but I just don't know what they are up to!"
"However, you have proven yourself worthy of this information. Specifically, you Fawn. You have show great restraint and prefer to view things from above and gather information before diving in. I hope you can understand that while I must this town of Phandalin it is for the greater good of the realm. If you were to stay here and investigate we could continue to share information as we gather it. Once you have enough information you could meet me in Greenest. If you wish to get in contact with me you may visit fellow Harper Sister Garaele who is currently looking over your friend Gundren as we speak. However... We are very secretive and it would help if you had this."
Leosin takes his Harper badge and turns to Fawn.
"Fawn. You exemplify all the traits of the Harpers. I would like to invite you to join us. Will you become a Harper and a fellow colleague of mine?"
