Khial steps to K9, then raises his shortbow once again and points it at the hobgoblin (who seems distracted by the monk), aiming it carefully so he wouldn't hit his own ally.
Khial positions himself well, placing himself in a spot where he can fire at the hobgoblin without Epos getting in the way. He nocks an arrow, takes careful aim, and fires!
The arrow connects with a solid thunk -- in the hobgoblin's chainmail ... the thick armor once again prevents your attack from penetrating.
The force of the arrow shot briefly knocks the hobgoblin off-balance, but he recovers. Starting to realize that he is up against dangerous foes -- and only owes his life to his tough and expensive armor -- he drops his bow, draws his sword, and slashes at Epos: 10.
But again the elusive elf evades his attack; furious, the hobgoblin shouts angrily at his goblin minions.
Xel grows worried that his new companions and he are outmatched by this goblin patrol. And he fears, as Herr Doktor Professor announced, more goblins are on the way.
Xel also angrily berates himself for losing track of one of the goblins.
The hobgoblin dodges the staff coming down on his head, spinning away so Epos hits nothing but air. Too late, from the corner of his eye he sees the elf's boot headed straight for his face. The force of the kick snaps his head backward, leaving it at an unnatural angle. Without a word, the hobgoblin falls to the ground.

The goblin behind the bush hides as a bonus action, Stealth check: 17.
Khial and the Herr Doktor Professor lose sight of him, allowing him to attack Khial with advantage; however, the Herr Doktor's Professor's magic still seems to be affecting him (nullifying the advantage): 11.
OOC: Whoops. Ok, avoid this when possible, guys. I rolled the attack with advantage because I forgot the goblin was supposed to have disadvantage from the bard's Vicious Mockery. When I deleted the results, this is the message I got. Live and learn.
OOC: The goblins can hide as a bonus action; obviously, this will only work against those with whom it has cover. In the case of the previous goblin, Epos can see it, but he can't voice out a warning because it's not his turn. As long as I can beat your passive perception, I see this as a cheap way to give my goblins advantage on their attacks. :)
OOC: Don't forget the bookkeeping part of the game, please. Khial, I just realized that for some reason you forgot to wear your leather armor today. If it's not equipped, then you don't have it.
The goblin's arrow flies wide, missing Khial.
The second goblin moves west (to M18). Taking advantage of another thick bush (in O15) he will try to hide from Xel: 17 Stealth check.
The goblin then fires at Xel with advantage: 22. The arrow strikes Xel, piercing the field of magical energy protecting him. He takes 5 points of damage.
One of the goblin shouts in Common: "Stupid half-elf! We'll see who's outnumbered! Just you wait!"
Xel grimaces as the arrow pieces his magical protection. Xel forces himself to calm down and act through the pain.
I maybe a novice wizard but I will not be trifled with. The Goblin that shot him still is in the bush and that makes him harder to hit. Xel looks around for a target that is easier to hit.
Xel moves to M2 and will cast a spell against the Goblin in D11. Given the angle, the Goblin cannot use the bush as cover.
Staff in his right hand and his left hand reaching out torwards the Goblin, with his fingers curled in a grasping motion he says: "In the end we are all death's slaves, feel his grasp, the chill of the grave." Xel casts Chill Touch on the Goblin.

The spectral hand appears around the goblin's neck and it falls dead -- whether due to the constriction of its larynx, or out of pure fear, you will never know.
Khial moves forward to K11 and draws his shortbow towards the last living goblin on the scene. "Too bad nobody here knows how to cook. I'd fancy some grilled goblin ears right about now." The thief recalls travelling thru a desert, where its local town had a tavern that served grilled goblin ears, a fine delicacy to go with some grog. "Maybe they won't mind if I collect their ears when I finish off this poor bugger.", the thief tells himself.
With his mouth slightly watering at the thought of fine delicacy, the thief fires his arrow towards the last goblin.
OOC: 1) Yes 2) Yes 3) Yes (and you don't know where the goblin went) 4) Yes 5) Yes (Flanking is an optional rule which we are not using.)

Epos, you're up!
Xel grows worried that his new companions and he are outmatched by this goblin patrol. And he fears, as Herr Doktor Professor announced, more goblins are on the way.
Xel also angrily berates himself for losing track of one of the goblins.
Clearing his mind once again of all distraction, and focusing on the hobgoblin Epos repeats his attack:
Quarter Staff: Epos spins his staff overhead and strikes downward
Attack: 6 Damage: 11
Unarmed Strike: following this up with a roundhouse kick
Attack: 22 Damage: 7
The hobgoblin dodges the staff coming down on his head, spinning away so Epos hits nothing but air. Too late, from the corner of his eye he sees the elf's boot headed straight for his face. The force of the kick snaps his head backward, leaving it at an unnatural angle. Without a word, the hobgoblin falls to the ground.
Still using Khial as cover (moving to L9), the Herr Doktor Professor mocks the goblin hiding behind the bush:
"Little goblin, it's time to run!
You're about to be overrun!
It's too bad you can't count,
You're outnumbered, without a doubt!"
Goblin's Wisdom save: 4.
Once again, the awful rhyme causes the goblin to cringe in pain. It takes 2 points of damage and has disadvantage on its next attack.
The goblin behind the bush hides as a bonus action, Stealth check: 17.

Round 3 begins: Khial, you're up!
Attack: 19 Damage: 9
Khial then swiftly slips back to his former position at K9.
The goblin falls with an arrow right between its eyes.
Epos, your turn is up! You can hear the sounds of something crashing through the brush to the west.
Epos scans his surroundings. He calls out to his new companions, "More might be coming from the west. Prepare yourselves..."
The elven monk most to C14 and attempts to conceal himself behind the bush. Stealth:9
The Herr Doktor Professor maintains position behind Khial; the rogue hears the half-elf muttering to himself.
(HDP takes a ready action.)
Xelx you're up!
