Jorin hacks at the wereboar with both weapons, feeling oddly enraged and snorting loudly. He struggles to hit vital spots (11 to hit), but still manages to do 27 damage.
Hildigrim buries another arrow into it, doing 12 damage (piercing + sneak).
Pascal steps forward to give the wereboar a face-full of fire. But as he is completing the spell, he is startled to find that the wereboar is starting to move (WIS save 14). The firebolt is minor (3 damage), but it is enough to finish off the beast. Combat over.
Quillary-Bear turns over the body of the slain wereboar, which returns to its humanoid form. She appears as a middle-aged woman, clad in tattered leather strips. Her gray-streaked black hair is unbound, tangled with sticks and mud. You recognize her as the warped woman possessed by Kauth from the Eye in the Mist: Llyneth. A few seconds later, this form dissolves into mist.
Drusk will cast Cure Wounds on Jorin for 10 HP. (He should be at 29 hp now.) Hildigrim lost 1 arrow, but recovers the rest.
(Is there anything else the party would like to do right now, or continue climbing the hill?)

(OOC: Good point.) After the body disappears, Q-Bear scratches the name "Llyneth" in the bone-soil, where the wereboar used to be.

The party continues climbing, reaching 90', then almost to the summit, without anymore attacks. As you cross the path almost at the top (point "C" on the map, on the east side), you see the word "beacon" faintly scratched into the bone soil. (If Jorin is concerned, not the word "bacon".) The wind gusts, to almost gale-force occasionally, and has become very cold, making even Q-Bear shiver.
Beneath a moonless night sky, the wide, flat summit of the hill rises above the mists, making it feel like you’re on an island in a sea of fog. Eight unlit bonfires stand in a circle around a smooth, circular stone, set into the ground at the center of the hill. A few gooseberry bushes grow around the stone.
Hildigrim passes on what he saw overhead (through Volo) to the others. This hilltop has a similar size and layout as the grove you were in, before jumping into the Eye. The flat stone is where the moonwell was. The piles of wood for the bonfires are at the same locations as the stone structures in the Eye grove.
Volo scouted overhead, but has currently landed at the stone at the center of the summit (D1) until the party catches up. The area around D1 is warmer and the air is calm around it. The stone has a number of symbols (which Volo can see up close). Between Hildigrim's knowledge of History and Quillary's druidic Religion, the symbols are deciphered. (Q-Bear has to scratch out simple messages to communicate. Now you know what a bear looks like when it is frustrated.) The larger engravings are a unicorn, a whale, and a pack of wolves. Those are the three servants of the Earthmother. Around the edge of the stone are symbols of safety and protection.
There are 4 gooseberry bushes (D2), each with 20 berries. The 8 bonfire piles are arranged along the perimeter of the summit (D3).
The party is at C. (You can move around normally now, instead of climbing.)

No signs of anyone having been here. But since Q-Bear is sniffling around the area, she notices something about the gooseberry bushes, and sniffs them more closely.
Quillary only:
The gooseberries are actually Goodberrys. Since the bear form is down 4 HP, is welcome to eat a few berries to demonstrate that fact to the others. If so, let me know how many.

OoC - I know its immune to the battleaxe, but Jorin enjoys the feeling of its blade slicing through flesh, even if that flesh reknits afterwards.
