Jorin crosses the room to Renaer with the mug he had poured for Fala, and was about to enjoy himself, and thrusts it out for Renaer to take, "Hello Renaer! Have a mug and a seat."

"Hainard's hairy toes!" Hildigrim can't believe his eyes. He's rooted to the spot until being knocked to the ground by Pascal's giant tail. The rogue gets up, dusts himself off, and moves toward the door. "Lord Neverember!" the halfling says, trying to bow and walk, but mostly stumbling. Getting to within five feet of the man, Hildigrim stops and does a proper bow and greeting to both the Lord and to Jalester. "Lord Neverember, it's so good to see you. I've been all over Waterdeep trying to find you this morning. We wanted to invite you here to the Road's End to treat you to a buffet of culinary delights."
“Oh?” He says. “This place hardly seems ready for guests...” he begins to sit in the chair behind him when everyone but Renaer himself sees the chair start sliding away from him...
(Remember, he called it a dump...)

Ilena pushes the chair back toward Renaer, clearing her throat and saying, "Indeed, Re... er... Lord Neverember... we do hope that you'll enjoy our dear chef, Pascal's, unimaginably delicious delicacies." She looks a little confused as she tries to direct a glare toward Lif, but doesn't quite know where to look.
The chair resists Ilena, and as she struggles as quietly as she can, Jalester looks amused at the back and forth, then steps up and takes Renaer's elbow, pulling him away towards the bar. "These folk have just had possession one day, Lord Neverember, I think they've made excellent progress. And the meal does smell good, Master Goodbody, but we come with some business."
Renaer allows himself to be moved, and Lif stops struggling with Ilena, leaving her holding the chair awkwardly. Renaer, turning, merely lifts an eyebrow quizzically. "Oh, yes! The Blackstaff herself, with the acknowledgment of the Open Lord, has asked if the five of you might do her a favor. It seems she wishes someone to check on the well-being of a friend of hers, some old monk who hides out on Mount Waterdeep. Flam? Flim?"
"Hlam," Jalester says.
"Yes, Master Hlam. Pardon me, I haven't slept well since the ordeal you saved me from. And I am most grateful, by the way. In any case, she would like the five of you, specifically, to check on him. And she provided this document," he produces a scroll, "As safe passage. I'm not really sure what this is all about?"
"Perhaps this can be looked into while the soup simmers?" Jalester asks. "Fala can watch it and make sure nothing untoward happens..."
The wood elf gives Jalester a look, but nods. "I may not have the creativity of my friend Pascal," she says, "But I can keep it from spoiling."
Jalester is wickedly good at names, it seems.

Jalester looks at Drusk quizzically, then points westward. “It is the mountain here in Waterdeep... you can see it out the window... perhaps a twenty minute walk to the base from here?”

Jorin looks out the window to mountain and takes a drink from his mug, then a drink from the second mug, before saying, "And what is Hlam doing that he needs checking in on?"
Hildigrim is always just beginning to speak as each paragraph begins, his quizzical mind causing him to pause after each conclusion to consider a multitude of responses before actually doing so. Finally, after Jorin's question, Hildigrim finds his tongue. "Of course, we will be more than happy to perform this task on behalf of the Blackstaff." He steps up and gingerly takes the scroll. "Nothing would fill us with felicity more than to support you in this manner, Lord Neverember. That's what friends do, right? Support each other?" He looks at the others and jerks his head toward the door, then begins backing toward it himself. "We'll only be gone a moment, so make yourselves at home. Thank you, so much, Fala, for ... Oh! Pascal. Can someone pop in and tell him we've got an errand to run for our friend, Lord Neverember? Ask him to join us out front? So, as I said, make yourselves at home. Don't mind Lif. You can't see or hear him, but he can see and hear you. Take good care of our honored guests, Lif. Please," he adds quietly. When it looks like everyone's headed toward the door, he exits into the yard.
Once in the yard, he unrolls the scroll and takes a look.
Hildigrim, whether accompanied by the others or not, ends up in the road at the front of the Road's End. He unties the seal and unrolls the document. A quick scan indicates it is a writ of passage through some sort of picket the City Guard (the soldiers, not the Watch, the police) have set around Mount Waterdeep. It names all five of the party, along with brief, but accurate descriptions.

Jorin's eyes narrow on Neverember as Hildi accepts the task. First, Neverember didn't take the proffered mug of ale, then they didn't answer Jorin's question about what Hlam was up to, so Jorin is a little suspicious. He takes the rest of the ales in two gulps, retrieves his twin battleaxes from a nearby table, and heads out behind Hildigrim.
"Master Hlam?! I've been trying to pay him a visit for the past two days but the Griffon guard at the Aerie kept impeding me from going to see him! Do you think he's truly in danger?" Ilena stuffs a half loaf of bread in her mouth and starts shoveling her things into her pack. "Me maff mu mo mow!"
She stops and pulls the loaf of bread out of her mouth, "But... will he be mad if I don't bring a fish?" she starts to head for the door.
