Your ears are ringing, your sight blocked out from a flash of light. As it clears, you can hear the whirring of machinations. The colors start to come back as it brightens and darkens before you. A familiar flash goes but does not blind you as before, instead the flash comes from a contained lightning bolt as it charges the machines in the lab. And as your hearing starts to clear more, you hear an attendant nearby, "Welcome to the lab, get used to explosions." He says as he wipes the grime off his face and start to dust off the his lab coat from the explosion.

New Engineers:
Blitzen Leistrum; Mage Degree; Human Tempest Cleric; Researcher in Conduction Lab
"Explosions are the primary reason why I joined the guild!" Blitzen Leisturm says with a grin. He smooths his disheveled blond hair as his bright blue eyes peer piercingly about the building. Clad in light armor painted in Izzet colors, the young man, who looks to be about in his early twenties, also sports an oversized metal gauntlet on his left arm. He glances around the room rather uncertainly.
The room in question was the base floor of the workshop. It seems like a few attendants accidently set off one of the machination, causing a small, quick and rather flashy explosion. Perhaps an overloaded vessel was just bursting, either way, the attendants are fine if not just disorientated. There wasn't much worry for the attendants as the others were more concerned if the explosion had damage their own experiments or harmed the mana generator dominating the center of the building.
A room has been set aside for the new researcher, some privacy, space, and attendants to help with whatever odd experiments he has in mind. But there is some clamor near the top of the workshop as a small goblin scales down the pipes. He sports a lab coat and goggles upon his head, and under the coat is a tightly woven leather suit, charred and burnt in places. He flashes a maniacal grin as he hangs upon a grate. "Great job lads! We've increased our input by ten percent, though we had to compensate for the overflux with some overcharge to some experiments. I believe we can better once we have a better storage capacitor. Blitzen, the new researcher! I heard from my cousin that you have some experience with energy technology?"
Dazzan Zanier, a gaunt looking human with a wild shock of brown hair streaked with gray and an arcane focus of tubes and glass and metal strapped to his back, rushes in. "So sorry I'm late. I never seem to be on time these days..." He looks around the lab for a moment, blinking. "I'm sorry, am I in the right place? The right time? They called for a researcher from the continuism lab, and I just-- Oooh, what's this?" Dazzan almost immediately becomes interested in the large hunks of machinery around the room. He mumbles to himself under his breath, already thinking of ideas for improvements and experiments.
"Right then," The goblin swings himself off and lands onto the floor. He sticks up a grime covered hand towards Blitzen, "The name's Gibb, supervisor around here, I'm the one that asked for your director for help. Same with you, time man!" He motions over for Dazzan to join in the conversation. "This is where I need you two. See, a while back another workshop screwed up making a Galvanice Weird, ain't too dumb and it can shoot lightning to boot...Anyway, I want you two to track it down and bring it back here."
"Ah, good to meet you, Mister(?) Gibb," Blitzen says, shaking the goblin's hand enthusiastically. He's never been one to begrudge a spot of grime. Blitzen's about to say something when Gibb brings Dazzan over. Instead, he turns to the newcomer, sticking out his ungauntleted right hand.
"Blitzen Leisturm, conduction mage. And you are?"Blitzen asks Dazzan, smiling artlessly.
After introductions are finished, Blitzen nods at Gibb's instructions.
"A Galvanice Weird. Such fascinating creatures, those. If I may, do you have an idea of the likely area in which we should begin our search?"he asks.
"Yes, I'd say in it would be in the sixth district. Heard that something is attacking the people around in the smelting quarter. The weird might be attracted to something there and maybe that's why its attacking people. Ah, and since it might attack one of the other guilds, the guildpact will be asking for a outsider to make sure the task is done with minimal injuries and make sure we properly handle it." Gibb answers
(There's been no response from the player so I will be cutting him.)
Dazzan is has busied himself with the other experiments going on there. Gibb sighs, "Guess it'll be just you and that freelancer they're sending." An earring on Gibb glows softly as it makes a small chime, "Ah, just got word that he's on his way right now to the lab. I can answer his questions while you head on ahead if you'd like."
(This is a thread for the Guilds of Ravnica, more specifically, for the Izzet League guild members.)

Blitzen scans the room again one more time, before nodding happily. He sets off in whichever direction looks more suited for a new researcher.

Blitzen nods, smiling at the goblin.
"Yes, it's my specialty."
And that's all I have to say about that.

(It is a male goblin.)
"Yes, I'd say in it would be in the sixth district. Heard that something is attacking the people around in the smelting quarter. Ah, and since it might attack one of the other guilds, the guildpact will be asking for a outsider to make sure the task is done with minimal injuries and make sure we properly handle it." "An outsider. How...interesting," Blitzen replies. He turns to Dazzan.
"Well, would you consider yourself ready to depart?"
And that's all I have to say about that.

"Certainly!" He zips up his pack and heads off.
