DEX 15 I have a +2 for dex saving throws. . man I need to review this stuff. . didn't add it.
Seeing his draconic partner crash behind the bar. . Zailoth channels his inner leader. . . or . . coward. . leadard.. . . "Let us leave! I think it might . . explode. . or. . RUN!"
Zailoth will encourage the others behind the bar to go first. . for their benefit and then will encourage his partner to step out with him to "strategize".
The hit from the chair rocks Zailoth slightly but he manages to remind upright.
Shouting his suggestions, Zailoth looks over at Rhomorn but notices his companion is crumpled in a pile on the floor. The only signs of movement are his labored breathing.
One of the individuals cowering behind the now burning bar with you, is a balding middle aged human, wearing a blue and gold robe. He slides over to you and speaks, his voice shaking slightly.
"Good sir, my name is Searle and I am a priest of Lidilan and am able to channel some minor healing from the goddess. I can help your friend but I need a distraction so I can pray undisturbed. Can you distract the creature?"
The rest of the patrons behind the bar are glancing frantically back and forth from the smoldering bar to the door but as of yet do not seem inclined to move.
"A distraction. . . coming right up Lidilan!. . Zailoth by the way. . . get ready"
Zailoth picks up a nearby piece of debris, crawling to a place as far away as he can from the others (while still under the cover of the bar) he casts light on it and lobs it over the bar toward the octopus.
Zailoth will quickly move away to another spot and do the same thing again, trying to stay clear of the general area of the priest.
The octopus sees the glowing debris coming towards him and attempts to swat it out of the air but misses. It roars again and begins throwing more broken chairs towards the source of the offending lights.

Meanwhile, once Searle believes the creature is sufficiently distracted, he rushes over to Rhomorn and shifts the Dragonborn onto his back. Hands hovering over his chest, the priest closes his eyes and begins to mutter prayers to his god.
After a moment, a glow emanates from his hands.
Rhomorn awakes feeling encompassed by warmth.
Heal: 4
OOC: Shane make a Stealth and a general dex check.
With a gasp, Rhomorn awakes. He isn't sure what is going on, but he feels a strange sense of warmth and calm. Last he can remember a giant octopus threw him across the room. Now it seems he is in the same room though it has been enveloped by chaos. He thinks he sees his new friend still here, and so, steeling his resolve he draws upon his (albeit limited at this point) Paladin training to lay his hands on himself and heal an additional 5HP (using part of his Lay on Hands pool). Rhomorn then readies himself and moves to approach the creature once again.
Once Rhomorn is up, Searle looks the Dragonborn in the eyes, slaps on the arm and says, “Good luck.” He then quickly dashes behind cover with the rest of the patrons.
Looking back at the creature, you see that its tentacles are flailing wildly, some of them are still hurling random bits of furniture but they fly harmlessly around the room.
Not that this situation needs to be any more odd, but you also notice that the red colour around the creature intensifies and it suddenly bursts into flames. The table below the creature begins to smoke and catch fire.
Seeing the change come over the octopusish-thing, Zailoth looks to the huddle patrons, "We need to leave", looking to Searle he asks, "What is through that door (pointing to the door behind the bar) Is there a way out? If there is we need to get these people out of here.. . I don't think that thing is going to calm down any time soon." He looks to the cowering folks behind the bar and states firmly "be ready!"
Following Zailoth's finger, Rhomorn calls out "Good eye my friend! There's only one way to find out!" and with that the dragonborn barrels towards and through the door, not pausing to twist the handle.
The door to the kitchen bursts apart, splinters spraying into the room, as Rhomorn great bulk barrels through it.
Seeing the way open, Zailoth motions to the others to follow and slips through the door after the dragonborn.
The other patrons do not need to be asked twice and almost bowl you over in their attempt to flee, as they pile into the room.
Behind you, you hear the creature let out a bellow, as the smell of burning wood begins to grow stronger. More furniture smashes against the wall behind you, some pieces finding their way into the kitchen and falling around you.
The others begin frantically looking for another way out of the building.
Knowing his limits . . at least for being resistant to fire, Zailoth makes sure everyone gets out of the kitchen and shouts out, unashamed, to anyone who might hear, "Help!" He will peak back into the bar to see if there is anything he can do to help the others.
Rhomorn would like to look around to see if there is an exit available. If there is, he will head towards it, trying to guide the people there as well. If no such exit immediately jumps out at him, he will attempt to barricade the door behind them with anything he can find.
OOC: Sweet Noah, you notice microscopic cracks in the wall.
Rhomorn bounds up from his roll and scans the kitchen intently.
You notice that the room has no other doors but there are four windows. Your eyes linger on the window in the west wall and you notice a stool that was placed below it and the window is open, unlike the others. Perhaps the kitchen staff used this to make their exit?
The other individuals in the kitchen are frantic and look as though they are about to tear each other apart to get to safety. They haven't noticed the window yet.
The sounds of cries and screams can still be heard from the common room, seemingly some of the patrons didn't make it to the kitchen.
The crackling of burning wood intensifies. You hear the creature howl with rage and pain as more furniture is hurled throughout the room.
OOC: let me know what you'd like to do. If you're going to try to get the others in the room make a diplomacy check.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Look there! Everybody, through that window!" Rhomorn tries to yell above the chaos. He then moves to the door and opens it again, calling out to any one who might still be trapped in with the monster: "Come with me if you want to live!"
OOC: Not super sure what I need to roll for a diplomacy check (couldn't find a diplomacy skill on my character sheet) so here's a charisma check - 13
Zailoth will help people through the window for a bit to get them started and then he will see if he can catch sight of what might be going on with the octopus, trying to commit to memory colours, patterns, growth rate etc. Very interesting! If it looks like the thing might explode Zailoth will attempt to pull himself away from his curiosity and run. . immediately pulling out a note book to jot down what he saw.
The remaining occupants of the dining room seem frozen with fear but Rhomorn's yells seem to snap them out of it and then rush into the kitchen. The other patrons are already climbing out the window. You hear voices on the other side of the wall and it seems there are individuals outside of the tavern who are assisting them down.
Now that they are spurred into action, it doesn't take long to get everyone out.
Zailoth peaks through the splintered door to look at the octopus to see what he can learn (OOC: make a perception check)
Oh . . you don't roll passive perception :) I just have a passive perception of 12 and that is tested against a DC. . . booooring :)
Arcana Your Intelligence (Arcana) check measures your ability to recall lore about spells, magic items, eldritch symbols, magical traditions, the planes of existence, and the inhabitants of those planes.
Passive Checks A passive check is a special kind of ability check that doesn't involve any die rolls. Such a check can represent the average result for a task done repeatedly, such as searching for secret doors over and over again, or can be used when the DM wants to secretly determine whether the characters succeed at something without rolling dice, such as noticing a hidden monster.
Special senses are described below.
Turns out you can just click on these things on the character sheet :)
As Zailoth watches, the creature glows brighter. The fire has now spread out from the table and is snaking across the floor, consuming the wood at an alarming rate. Near the bar, the flames are beginning to creep up the wall. The temperature is getting noticeably hotter inside.

He will take the next available chance to exit. Not pushing anyone aside of course.. . much.
