Seeing her magic effect the foul creature, Wazzok reaches out her hand chanting again, calling upon the chief deity of her pantheon to help her and her allies strike down the beast.
In Orcish;
Gruumsh guide our spears to fell this foul aberration!
Wazzok's eyes glow with red light as she points her hammer at the harpy, and her arm is thrown back by the recoil as a bolt of crimson light bursts forth from the tip of her warhammer, streaking toward the harpy. Even as the beast attempts to roll out of the way the otherworldly projectile curves to follow her, and she arcs her back as the bolt strikes her between the wings and spreads across her form, ruby specks of light shimmering as she plummets and then crashes into the earth.
The wretched and malformed monster barely has time to shriek as Wazzok's divinely summoned bolt burns it from the sky. The explosion of heat and light as the missile impacts, in addition to the limp way that the char-feathered forms plummets from the air would seem to indicate that the foul creature was dead prior to its ravaged corpses crashing to the ground with an audible *thump*.
[OOC] The harpy is dead. We are out of combat and out of initiative.

Alwin will begin to try and move the undergrowth from around him in order to move to the other side. Letting out a sigh as he struggles fighting the undergrowth.
OOC:
Strength Check: 10
Alwin's initial struggles are futile, and worse yet serve to further painfully scratch and scour the entangled half-elven fighter amidst the thorny undergrowth. However, taking a few breaths to calm his frustration, and noting his half-orc companions success in bringing their enemy down, the citadel trained warrior finally manages to extricate his bruised and bloodied form from the tangle, emerging out onto the rising base of the mound.
[OOC] Alwin takes a further 5piercing damage from his initial failure to break free, but having the time to more carefully and methodically escape following the harpy's death, eventually succeeds without further harm being done.

Looking at the group to take stock, Cinder sits down and breathes in deeply to slow her breathing. “Well that was a bit scary wasn’t it? Can we take a short breather to calm down after fighting THAT?” Gesturing to where the harpy fell, Cinder pulls out her waterskin and takes a big swing of water.

Kestrell watches the harpy intently for several seconds after it hits the ground to make sure it isn't going to get back up again. "What was that?!?" he shouts. "Did it eat all of the eyes?"
Once it is apparent the Harpy isn't moving Kestrell will turn in a 360 and take a good look around. Looking for signs of further danger, checking the lake next to them to make sure there isn't anything crawling out of it, and then peer hard at the island across the way to see if he can make out what is on it.
Mazin will take a deep breath and end his rage. He will look around. He will move up to the tree trunk and pull out his handaxe.
To Kestrell's comment, he will respond "I think that may have been the creature that the dryad was telling us about."
He will poke around the top of the mound and point out things of interest he sees to the others. ((He will help with an investigation check)).
After they finish looking through whatever is at the top of the mound, Mazin will take his greatsword and attempt to carve a path through the brambles. Then, he will go up to the Griffon, take some feathers from it's head and one of its claws from it's talon.
Mazin will look up. "Where did the other creature land. Do we need to bring proof back to Cypress?"
Altani tosses her hair, looking around the scene of destruction.
"I agree Mazin. I was to hasty in jumping to a conclusion, though that first beast was a griffon. It appears the really culprit was what we just slew...a breast foul of feather and with shrill voice. But I did not see that it had a bow, because didn't the griffon have a number of arrows stuck in its wings? Maybe there is more to this story still?"
The centaur, retrieving her javelin's as she goes, leaves the top of the mound and follows Mazin along the path he carves through the brambles. Heading in the direction of the creatures boby, she stops next to Alwin.
"You are hurt Alwin. Let me help you." Reaching out she touches the half-elf on the shoulder, over one of the wounds he sustained from the brambles. "Mielikki, Goddess of the forest, we are hear on a quest to aid one of your children, the dryad Cypress. Lend us your power and wisdom and heal valiant Alwin who has been injured in the protection of your ways." As she finishes a golden green glow ruminates form under the paladins hands, small leaves sprouting around the hand and Alwins wound until they disappear into it, closing the gash like little had happened.
OCC: Cast [ability]Lay on Hands[/ability] to heal 5 points on Alwin.

He just stands and looks at her "At le...ast its dead ri...ght" he says looking at the group and then looking around for anything that may indicate future danger to the group.
Wazzock looks about quickly, then searches for the harpy's corpse and hefts the creature over her shoulders handily. "Perhaps it's best if we bring both creatures to Cypress to learn what there is to know."
"I am not sure that is a good idea. I doubt Cypress would wish that diseased creature to befoul her forest. But we probably should being some kind of proof"
"Does anyone know what it is? Maybe they hunt in packs?"

The harpy remains unmoving, its body blasted and its wings twisted unnaturally beneath it. Apart from the odd brightly coloured serpent or largely disinterested scavenger, Kestrell sees no other threats nearby, though the ground-hugging mist obscures much of the low ground and water around the sorcerer.
Peering out towards the small rocky island that sits about fifteen feet out in the centre of the lagoon, the observant half-elf's eyes spot the old lean-to, stone fire-pit and what looks like the broken remains of an old, bridge. Nothing else stands out to Kestrell or appears to be moving on the island.

Wazzok notices the creeping scavengers cautiously edging towards the harpy's broken carcass, as well as having a clear view of the rocky island below. The heightened vantage point allows the half-orc to notice what at first appeared to be a brach sticking out of the lagoon near the island's Eastern shore. Noticing a sizable mass of something below the water beneath, Wazzok realises that the protruding branch is in fact the tip of a submerged cart's handle.
