“She said the Frogmaiden, and that she’s close to the sounds of her favored. Based on the name I’d say this place has a lot of frogs. So we’re looking for a lagoon filled with frogs and a beautiful person wearing plants as clothing. Locals should know that instantly right?”

Also, did anyone else notice that Meerkthistle completely failed to mention her own daughter, a sergeant in the town no less. Or that the shaman seemed to have a low view of those who lived within Ambersilt?"

He just perks up as Kestrell says two ruins and shakes his head “Tech…nically, the buildings at the top of the hill just appear to be aba…ndoned building not actually ruins.”
He just stands with the group as they go to move and follows, listening to the sounds as they approach he notes the conversation between the silverstar officials. He listens as the woman talks about the old ways and her mother and finds voice “It’s not good to for…get our past. If we for…get then we are do…omed to repe….at the mistakes of our ancestors.”
Alwin just looks to the dark haired woman noting her gaze and movements at the mention of the frogmaiden. He just smiles, excusing himself from the group as he walks over to the girl. He just tries to give her a charming smile ‘Be like father and brother with the ladies…be like father and brother with the ladies’ running through his head.
As he approaches he just stands next to her "Af...terno...on, I'm Al...win." he extends his hand in polite greeting towards the woman.

'Mazin cannot be sure, but he recalls seing a pair of large winged creatures soaring below the clouds on his trip South to Ambersilt. 'Even as the clearly angry Leetha storms away from his goliath companion, the lizardwoman seems to catch the gist of Alwin's words towards her and spins violently about to face the half-elven fighter, who for the briefest of moments thinks that the volatile sergeant is about to go for a weapon. Instead the lean milita officer spits words in fury, her articulation noticably more sibiliant as her anger mounts,'

'Stunned by the vitriol of Leetha's tirade, Alwin all but melts beneath her venomous glare, turning away meekly to stutter his greeting to the militiawoman who pivots in the opposite direction and moves quickly to the militiaman nearest her, apparently either not wanting to be seen by her superior talking to the target of her ire, or perhaps simply too embarrassed on Alwin's behalf to speak to him right now.'

As Leetha starts to speak, Mazin's face has a shocked expression, taking a step back at the sudden verbal assault. As she continues her fiery admonishment, Mazin seems to just melt,; by the end, his head is hanging low and his shoulders are slumped. He lifts his head as she starts to walk away, as if he's about to say something, but nothing comes out.
Mazin turns to look at his compatriots, but averts his gaze. He heads to the back of the group, looking out away from the town, with his back to the party. He takes a deep, turns his head enough to speak with them "I..... seem to have .... upset.... the Sargent. Apologies." Standing tall, he stares out into the wilderness, away from the town and civilization.
DC 10 Insight Check on Mazin
The mention of "Goliath" is when Mazin appears to start getting sad during Leetha's tirade.
As he stands, staring off into the wilderness, you can tell that he is trying to put on a brave face. While he is standing tall, it is obviously forced.
Watching half the group getting verbally lashed by Leetha, Cinder avoids talking to her, watching Wazzock quietly speak to another guard off to the side. Mazin just stares at the woods after the tirade, but Alwin looks a bit worse for wear, so she’ll walk up to him and say, “Try not to let her words get you down. It’s not like they were directed at you. She was just talking about elves in the forests, where you definitely are not right now.” Nudginghim a bit she smiles and says, “Maybe try to be yourself around people. You don’t need to put up a face to fit in, trust me it doesn’t work.”

Wildemount: The Felderwin Irregulars (2020) - Balassar Silverstone - Dragonborn Fighter (Rune Knight) Lv. 5 | Rise of TIamat - Aiwin Aralana - Wood Elf Fighter/Ranger (Arcane Archer/Gloom Stalker) Lv. 9
'Mazin cannot be sure, but he recalls seing a pair of large winged creatures soaring below the clouds on his trip South to Ambersilt. This may have been a pair of the fabled creatures, though the goliath could not be certain. The large warrior's only other knowledge of the things comes from Daruk - a passing mention of the winged leonine creatures' formiddable fighting prowess and gamey tasting flesh.
As Mazin gives Sergeant Leetha his words of advice regarding the Silvershield's mother, the lizardwoman's eyes narrow into slits, the nostrils at the end of her snout flaring noticably in outrage. Glaring at the much larger man without apparent fear, the thin but fierce militia officer seems to chew her own tongue for a moment before spitting out an angry reply without shouting, but loud enough to cause the two guards nearby to nervously clutch their spears,'
"You dare to lecture me on my own kin? Where are your kin, goliath? I stand here defending my people... all my people. I do not wander landss not my own, searching for place or purpose. Be glad that you showed compassion to Jona and have the magistratess mandate... but speak no more to me of thingss you do not understand!"
'Seemingly done with your group for now, the fiery fighter marches stiffly back into town, her long sinewy tail whipping back and forth behind her in a clear sign of aggitation.'

"Sstop sspeaking, fool elf, or I will... Hsss... What do elvess care for hisstory except their own? While Heartsstar formss alliancess, banding peopless together, your kind sstand apart and judge uss, ssneering from your great foresstss! Misstakess, yess. Look to your own... and leave me BE!"

She was just talking about elves in the forests, where you definitely are not right now.” Nudging him a bit she smiles and says, “Maybe try to be yourself around people. You don’t need to put up a face to fit in, trust me it doesn’t work.”
