Gustav can tell, the ground between the tree's will be boggish, suckling at shoes or feet, making it harder to move. The rain itself is just rain, falling in large drops due to the massive winds that are buffeting the area. Tomorrows walk will likely be far more difficult, assuming the storm isn't also still raging. Those within the dome are unaffected other than by the noise. The massive dinosaur continues to walk by the group, retreating from the beach area, heading inland. Missing everyone. Burgee makes a sphere of dryness appear around the people within the tree's, as the raindrops hit some unseen force now, making it easier to move and controls the wind, forcing it to blow the opposite direction, in a way neutralizing the wind itself, but also creating a whirlpool of wind in the area as the wind fights itself, creating what feels like a tornado, but without the funnel or tossing of people as the air sworls circularly around the group within the 'eye.'
But with Burgee's spell up, the area becomes much more hospitable than the rest of the area around them. it almost felt like the group was within a snow globe, watching hell break loose in the world around them. Aside from this, the next four hours pass by peacefully aside from the tropical storm surrounding them. Zein eventually wakes up, looking around and seeing another storm blowing through the island, he feels sorry for those who weren't already used to such occurrences, though admittedly, the high walls of the city kept most of the conditions bearable.
He suggested that those on watch before, rest inside the dome, while some inside come out to allow those that weren't, some respite. After 10 minutes or so, he has his armor back on and takes up his watch, waking up the sleeping Era, who was softly floating on an inch of rainfall, in a skunk scented, and now 'damp' skunk scented area, causing it to reek like a wet dog as well.
During Era's and Zeins watch, the storm continued to rage around them, even when it felt like it was morning the sky was still dark with clouds. Era eventually goign to wake up the sleeping Vola, to ask Are you able to make more than one of these houses at a time?

As much as I want to go with your ruling, I just want to make sure it was your intent to rule that people can come and go from Leomund's tiny hut within a single cast before I run with it as gospel. That's a significant upgrade. RAW the 10 people (9 guests and caster) who can enter and exit are fixed at the time of casting, everyone and everything else is barred. And it disappears if Vola leaves it. I'm happier with your version as it means she can go to the bathroom in the middle of the night without everyone being exposed to the elements/her taking a dump in the corner of the tent.
Vola eventually stirs as Era attempts to wake her from outside the impenetrable wall of force, rubbing sleep from her eyes, and nearly steps through the wall before realising that she'd be breaking the spell. Doing her best to keep her voice from carrying she whispers "Sorry, no can do. I have to be on the inside of the hut. If I leave, the hut leaves. Everyone on the inside can come and go, no one else can come in and I can't change who's on the guest list. So no double-ups, no extensions, no 2-hour force-tent cities. Don't think I haven't tried! There was this one time in the institute where we tried to launch a hamsterball tournament with it but it got really messy and... well there's a reason that Ignacio's Slightly Less Tiny Doublehut didn't catch on. It was a bad way to go, Mystra preserve his soul. I dunno.... Maybe when the Minotaur gets a little better at manipulating the weave I can show him how, we can put two of these up, but he's not ready - you can do a lot of damage, you know, up here" - she taps her temple - "if you try to do too much too soon. We'll just have to take it in turns for now, night by night. Apart from me, I have to be inside. But that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make." She grins at her own joke.
Gustav appeared ready to protest against Zein's request, understanding Vola's magic by so much. But seeing him away and conversing, Wonder -- who unlike Guss and Ka -- couldn't really sleep after the dinosaur's passing, steps out the bubble and practically tries to drag Gustav inside. Tired as the old cat was, he merely smirked at her efforts before shaking his head. "If there's a possibility of a swap out -- even a remote one -- for this 'guest list', it would be appreciated. Though if truly immutable even for you, Lady Vola, then so be it. Granted--"He starts to say, only to catch himself. A memory of their initial meeting have played back in his head, reminding the aged Tabaxi of his cruelty. Feeling particularly reluctant after, only Wonder's tugging appeared to be keeping elder Tabaxi in place.

Through gritted teeth and trembling tusk, Vola slowly grates out "I can... change it... for them." gesturing to the others of the party, and lets the rogue's ward tug him against the impenetrable field again and again. Look at that scrawny neck - seize it! Feel it crumple like paper as you dash his addled brains out on the wall, let them mingle with the mud and rain! Let all your enemies tremble! Let all know the might of - "Good day, Tabaxi."The outer shell turns opaque again. 'lady Vola'. Ha! Plough a field and sell a carrot, you hirsute prick! Her hand trembles and she wills a little more warmth into the hut to fight off the chill that must have snuck in. "Little one, are you in or out?"she asks of Wonder, resuming her reading.
Zein leaves the protection of the hut, pulling down his visor to guard his face from the rain, though humorously, the rain pelting him would sound much the same as a heavy rain on an empty warehouse roof in the modern day. Allowing at least one more to enter the hut, unless others should leave as well. Era was entirely soaked due to her positioning, and the raunch of the area was intense. Zeins nose wrinkled from it, but he understood it's point, and bore it. I understand why you're doing it master Burgee, but you should rest. The storm will not. I would also suggest any of the rest of you who have not, do so, even if it is hard. These storms usually last a day or two, We're not likely to get any rest if we let it impede us.
After vola/Gustav/Wonders interaction concludes.
The rest of the night went by relatively peaceful, aside form the storm itself. Era did spy a few predatory looking creatures stalking around the camp, but once they got within scenting distance of the skunk-smell, they eventually retreated. The wind and rain continuing till just before sunrise.
Eventually the wind died to a low but strong breeze, however, the rain continued to pelt down ceaselessly, leaving the area shrouded in dim light, Soft winds, and heavy rain. The ground was muddy, and made it harder to walk than usual. The entire island was likely similar, and would stay this way so long as the rain continued.
Zein began to pack up his supplies, waiting for everyone else to be ready to continue on.
((I will be rolling for 'days' at a time to speed up 'travel' so that the game doesn't get boring with 'setup camp, undo camp, walk, nothing happens, setup camp' repeat. Will continue after everyone sans Era, posts one more time.. so vola/gustav!)
Aside from the sleight quirking of a bushy brow, Gustav received the answer with little aplomb or surprise. If anything, it was expected. Though it wasn't the only thing anticipated, if one were to look closely enough. One foot was positioned just an inch or two out of place for either simple fatigue or casualness to be the cause. And was one of his paws always at the hip, and conveniently so close to the shortsword nearby? Regardless of what may be paranoia or trained instincts, nothing more comes of the denial than a simple, understanding nod.
As for Wonder, she looks between the older Tabaxi and Orc, fighting the former's attempt to slip her grasp, before stepping out of the hut altogether and startling the aged one with the choice. If Vola looks up then from her reading, she could see Gustav kneel down, whispering some intensely to Wonder, only to constantly receive head shakes or glares. Finally, it is with a defeated sigh that the old man made his way back to the base of a sturdy looking tree, accepting the grime would not be his bed alone. With Wonder curled up in his lap, and the outer robe of his clothing further shielding at least her from much of the rain, Gustav eventually found his sleep again, imagining things to be alike the shores of home.
At some point well before sunrise, Guss and Nin stepped out of the hut and sat before it. Neither bugbear or lizardfolk say a word to each other; merely looked up to the rain and winds, letting it all wash over them. Over time the lizardfolk's form began to shift, ripple, and blur into other shapes -- other, non-humanoid forms before eventually settling back on the Lizardfolk. Afterwards, all tension fell away from his shoulder.
For the bugbear, he found himself clutching at his chest after a while, and gritting his teeth at some unspoken pain. Yet whatever it was he endured for several minutes at time until thin lines of electricity flickers across his form before settling in his heart. He too began to breathe easier for the first time in weeks. Each in their own way having received or awakened to something from the world, dimming troubled thoughts and providing -- for a brief instance -- a focus beyond the cares of survival.
Only after do the two look at each other for a long moment, noticing one another first time. With little more than a nod of mutual understanding, the two make their way back inside the hut to sleep off a second awakening.
After waking and readying himself for the day, Kauil knelt toward an edge of the dome. Soft, almost far away sounds of a raptor in flight could be heard as he lifted his voice to the heavens and called upon his godess. His shame in losing his wings beginning to diminish still made him bow his head a little deeper as he sought please his lady of the sky. I shall follow your guidance Aerdrie, and defend you against all foes. Grant me your strength today for as I am grounded, you may soar, he prays in the language of the birds and it echos high in the air above the encampment.
The calls in the sky catch Burgee's ears. He glances quickly above to search for danger before realizing it must be Kauil. And so the morning begins, he thinks to himself. Hopping and scaling down the tree he goes to find Era to make sure she was ok through the night. Though he knew she was more capable than he in the current surroundings. He readied his belongings and prepared for the days to come then trotted off towards the dome where the others spent the night. As he moved, he continued his attempts to keep the weather in around him calm and dry, but it did not help with the ground that had been saturated while they slept. "Looks like we are in for a hard hike through the woods," he says to the others as he arrives. "This, weather, is odd. I cannot quite understand it. I will do what I can to keep it at bay but only have a small area of influence. Stay close if you can." He grips his staff and rubs his finger over one of the engravings as he thinks back on the elderly woman who provided for him in his time of need.

As the dawn nears with no sign of let-up, Vola double-checks her calculations. She still not convinced it will work but it's worth a try - summoning a Tensers Disc that will hover 6 or 7 feet off the ground with a greatly increased radius at the expense of its load bearing capabilities. She begins the ritual looking in her diminishing component pouch critically. (Basically, "summon golf umbrella")
Regardlessof the outcome she'll attempt to scavenge up a few bits and bobs to replenish it (survival 17)
As Zein does his own prostelyzations to Lathander, as the group readies up, a thin ray of light extending trough the clouds, though sadly, not abating the weather. Zein is blessed with power form his patron as he usually was. Vola, managing, with some degree of strain to essentially create a 'roof' for the group, each one of the pelting rain drops that hit it sounding much like a solid thud against plastic. kauil's shouts are luckily drowned out by the sound of the heavy rain, not drawing the attention of anything that could potentially be dangerous.
Several of the groups .. 'weaker' members awakening to their callings a bit more powerfully, and eventually, the hut disappearing.
After a brief, and mostly dry breakfast thanks to vola, whom Zein does not forget to thank for the succor, as large, wet strips of rations aren't fun.. like cereal and water. And within 15 minutes after that, the group is ready to move again. Era seems to be fine, if a bit blue under the collar, and wet to boot.
The group began their long, trudging walk through the jungle.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The rest of that day continued as expected. Wet, Muddy, miserable, though that misery was much abated thanks to Vola's quick witted spell, though the group would occasionally deal with a few moments of aquatic assault between recasts. As the first day went on, occasionally, something in the brush would move, echoing a heavy rattling of leaves and shrubbery. Though none of them attacked, luckily.
The next day it almost looked as though the rain was going to abate, the clouds had thinned, the wind had culled, and a soft warmth permeated the area, and visibility was greatly increased. The ground had even began to solidify again to a degree.
Gustav would occasionally hear clarion calls in the distance, though here and there, the bushes would rattle with the sudden, rapid movement of something just barely unseen in the corner of the eye.
Throughout the entirety of the first day, Guss largely opts out of walking beneath the umbrella, for he preferred to explore some of the other forms not connected to his one essence. Unfortunately, aside from a giant lizard of some coastal variety, he didn't appear to have too much success turning to others.
Similarly, Ka does the same, if only to range ahead alongside Gustav whenever the need arose for the duo. While reluctant, as it often gave Wonder an opportunity to try and weasel in joining on any advanced scouting, the aged tabaxi was given pause by his black scaled compatriot. Something about the way he acted and moved reminded him now of an old ranger friend.
And so things were adapted to...
Present Day:
Although not unused to strange sounds in the jungle at this point, sensing rapid movement far too close for comfort at his side, Gustav draws a dagger, and spin around to face the danger. Ka, he trusted, to mirror, and stand back to back with his +1 Dagger at the ready, and great, big lizard eyes scaning his side for dangers.
If nothing immediately jumped out at them following the motion, he message Vola a 'warning' of a possible approaching danger.
Of wonder at this time, she is on Nin's shoulders, cleaning her pan pipes as a half-distracted guss kept trying to turn more than a few finger claws into panther claws.
Vola stops with a start when the whisper hits, whipping her head left and right before realising it's a spell and whispering back "Stopping until further notice."
"Wagons, halt! Team Furball has spotted something. Uh... At arms?"
She takes her own direction, swirling her hand around the end of her staff and forming a spiraling, icy cloud. (readying ray of frost for flavour purposes cause she doesn't have a sword and shield to pose with :D )
"Hey Era," Burgee whispers as he and Kauil break off from an avian discussion about blue summer skies and wind flowing through their feathers. "What's going on? Why are we stopping?"

The rain didn't really bother Era much, and that much was clear how she proudly marched behind the others, opting to stay out from under the disc and getting soaking wet. Her clothes stuck to her body and mud practically ruined her shoes, but regardless she still found a reason to smile. However, when Vola tells them to halt, she almost runs right into Minos back. "Oops! Sorry, sorry..." She apologizes, backing up a little bit before almost bumping into the questioning kenku. "Oh! Sorry! Um..." She looks over to Vola. "Yeah, why are we stopping? What did the old man spot now?"

Hey! You really need to have a system for it to work effectively, systems are important, but, like, not if they're too complicated. I remember back in the Institute we used to use different colours for levels of threat, like if something got out of it's cage or slipped it's leash - standard red, amber, green type thing, but then there were special colours for infections - I remember this one time we got this deep puce light in Interview 6 and no one knew what it meant and I had to leave the room to find out while Kevin kept the patient talking and then we found out that it was some kind of ethereal mind parasite that propogated along lines of sight and I mean who's going to remember the specific shade of puce for that one, right? Still, it's good to have a system. I miss Kevin, he was a good guy... y'know, before the cleanse..." She trails off.

Vola so far has found 3 'components'
Occassional Dungeon Master.
Gustav's Perception: 17.
Ka's Perception: 5.
Day One:

"Not sure. Didn't say. Just that they saw... something?" then sotto voce "bet it wasn't a ******* apology, anyway." and back to regular voice "Point taken, I should have asked, but we should probably set up a signalling system so that we can respond appropriately and quickly without having to ask too many questions - it's a cool spell but the messaging charm doesn't leave a lot of room for discussion, just a quick hey?
