As your group prepares to leave to find breakfast a man walks into the taproom,
"Good morning. My name is Flapignon Vitosian, my friends call me “Flaps”. I'm a member of the Cellarers’ and Plumbers’ Guild and was contacted by Cece and told that you were in need of having some work done but might be interested in swapping services, so to speak. Do you have some time this morning to talk?"
Not used to the casual way he's been brushed past, it takes Flaps a moment to react and catch up with the group.
"It's my nephew Putty is being held captive at the Bakers’ Guild. I need you to rescue him. Quickly and quietly, if possible. In return, I'll see to it that all the pluming repairs for your manor are taken care of.
Phaedra gives Flaps a blank stare, her mouth slightly open as a frown crosses her face.
"So your saying that your nephew has been kidnapped by the Bakers Guild... what terribly for? What could Bakers wish from the Cellarers’ and Plumbers’ Guild enough to make them even consider kidnap, let alone actually do it? Has this go more to do with you than the guild and why have you not simple went to the city guard...what are they called?" she says as she looks over to the rest of the party.
"Is this city just guild after guild after guild that are all at each others necks for one reason or another. It does not even seem to matter if they are criminal or not!"

The group enters the coffeehouse and finds a set. After a waiter takes their order, Flaps continues with his story.
"My nephew Putty has been accused of using sewage to poison the dough at Cannoli’s, a North Ward pastry shop. Two people died from eating poisoned pastries while another dozen needed clerical intervention. However, I know that Putty didn't do it because he was working in the Southern Ward all week. Fellow guild members can vouch for his location.
Looking to Phaedra, "No ma'am. He wasn't kidnapped. He turned himself in at the Master Bakers’ Hall because, and this is the really strange part, he honestly believes he did do it and feels guilt over it."
"They've had Putty in a holding cell for three days so far and have yet to involve the authorities. It's my opinion that the Bakers’ Guild hasn’t taken Putty to the City Watch for two reasons: First, the Bakers just don’t have enough evidence against Putty for a magister to find guilt under the Code Legal. Second, the Bakers’ Guild is trying to use Putty as leverage against the Cellarers’ and Plumbers’ Guild. T. Darius Baker III, the heir apparent to the guild master, is demanding that the two guilds’ contracts be renegotiated immediately, and the terms of the proposed deal clearly favor the bakers.
So, as you can see, it's a complex situation. I'd love to know who set my nephew up and how they have him believing he did this, and if you choose to solve that mystery as well you'll certainly be rewarded for it. But the primary goal is simply extraction and return. We don't want anyone injured or killed if it can be helped.
What do you all think? Is this a job you'd be interested in?"
"I, for one, certainly do not want to run afoul of the bakers guild. I know where my bread is buttered. Literally, in this case."
Kestrell pauses and takes a sip of coffee and a bite of his bacon and eggs.
"On the other hand, it sounds like something nefarious has been going on. Let's go rescue Putty and figure out what is going on. Then we can get the plumbing at the Manor in tip-top shape?"
“We must tread lightly, you will need yeast for brewing and bread for patrons” Elon says while sipping his coffee. “ we can take care of the ‘elf mugger’ tonight and take this mission afterwards”. He stares into his cup in deep thought. “ If you run in and rescue him then you are up for retaliation, but if you can prove wrong doing on their part then you have leverage to protect yourself. He looks up to gauge everyone’s response. Elon knows he is the new guy here and doesn’t want to step on anyone’s toes. He is not received well by everyone as it is and doesn’t want to make it worst.

Breez, oversleeping runs downstairs. Not seeing anyone in the manor checks outside. He catches them just turning a corner and quickly runs after them, catching up. Catching the tail end of the conversation. Out of breath he inputs his two cents.
"Did you say extraction and return? I'm in! I'd love to be a hero of sorts, maybe a super one, a super hero if you will."
He hunches over, placing his hands on his knees, catching his breath.
"Man I need to workout more!"
(Edit OOC: Sorry guys, I had a super busy work week and an even busier life week, been moving and had family come in from out of town.)
Phaedra watches Breez run into the shop, nodding to him as she takes a sip of her tea.
"I agree with you Elon, we do not wish to start making enemies. Well more enemies anyway. I imagine we will need the help of the bakers guild at some stage so if we wish to do this we will need to do it with some degree of caution and skill."
Holding her holy symbol up to look at it, the cleric lets it run through her finger before continuing.
"If I can get close enough to Putty I may be able to tell if the divine energy's of Our Lady of Spells are effecting him, but I do not have the devotion to dispel such effects yet. So what we really need to know is where Putty is being held and maybe the place he was working before he turned himself in. If it is indeed magic that is effecting him, I would imagine that the idea to take the blame for what happened would have been suggested to him and then he has when directly to the Bakers Guild to turn himself in."
Phaedra stops for a second to sip her tea.
"Or we could always look into the deaths that have occurred, someone has caused this to happen and they may have left some kind of clue."
"Let's do it all! Flaps! Pay the bill. Then we are off to the Baker's Guild to investigate the deaths, ask them what they want for the nephew, and then tonight we find the elf killer."
As the group discusses the issue, Flaps appears to be fidgeting a bit which seems out of place on his large frame. But when Kestrell announces that they'll take the job a wide smile breaks out on his face.
"Oh, thank you so much my friends! Thank you."
The waiter hearing Kestrell tell Flaps to pay, glides over to the table where Flaps settles up with the man.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Phaedra holds out a hand to stop Flaps, her right eyebrow curling upwards as a stern look crosses her once clam looking face.
"Hold on one minute Flaps...if I may. I do not yet believe you are telling us the full story. What have you left out because I believe that you know more than you are letting on about this incident with Putty and the Bakers Guild. Tell me the whole truth now... friend. Otherwise I will turn Kestrell around and Putty will languish in that cell."
