Silver just smirks as he pulls his hair back into a ponytail revealing the full sharpness of his ears - now that it is out of his face the charm of the man can be seen by those looking at him. He just picked up his bow and attached it to his belt.
"Glad to know I'm popular - well sounds like they hired horrible kidnappers then. This is why you pay good money for services, prevents cheap work." as Renaer waves his hand he just blinks "I'm going to assume there are more people around, versus Renaer just forgetting that one does not make plural." he holds his dark hand out to the fellow half-elf "Silver, always a pleasure to meet a fellow half-breed."
'Watching Silver closely throughout the smooth talking half-drow's conversation with Raener and the following exchange with Kestrell, Vassa intrerupts his unblinking observation of the man only to take his hand and say,'
"Vassa, and the pleasure is all mine, I'm sure."
'Stepping back after shaking the man's hand, Vassa mutters quietly to himself as Kestrell steps forward,'
"Breedin' is always there for the readin', Vass me boy, remember that."
[OOC] deception check to mask his last words, another one of 'granny's' maxims, to himself: 22
In particular noting his casual familiarity with violent dispute resolution and criminals such as kidnappers. Vassa is trying to gain an initial impression on whether or not Silver might be trustworthy, especially in light of the fact that Vassa still doesn't trust Raener yet and the noble just invited Silver to join the bard and his companions in what will likely be a life and death battle in the sewers.
[OOG] Critical FAIL on that insight check, lol. To Vassa, Silver is a riddle, wrapped in an enigma, hidden inside three babushka conundrum dolls.

He notes the mouth of the other half-drow moving but can’t make out his words as he is berated with talking from Renaer and Kestrell. The rogue just stretches a little as the other man came out “Well isn’t this turning into a party. Thanks, it works for the narrow city street here – been thinking about upgrading to a crossbow though.”
His hand rest on the hilt of his shortsword as he looks at the party. Now that he stands in better light and visiability to the party they can see that he is average height, around 5’6’’, his black leather armor clings to his body for protection and mobility of his profession. At the point of connection between boot and pants rests a sheathed dagger and sticking from behind the faint glimmer of silver can be seen resting near the shortbow as if it were covering up another one.
He just stares at the party with his lilac eyes and gives them a friendly, and charming smile “So what shall we do now?”
[OOC] He’s the most honest and nice guy ever – should totally be his friend.

"Well Raener, now that we have your other friend in tow, perhaps we should be heading below? I doubt that Xanather's thugs will be any more gentle with poor Floon than the Zhents.
Unless Silver here knows of a closer entryway, I know of a way into the sewers over on Dock Street, near the Angry Coxwain tavern which isn't too far away. Shall we?"

'Vassa, having already been thorougly side-tracked from his pondering of Silver's sudden and unprompted revealation about his parentage, just nods along in wonder at the man's story about the tortle brothers who were rat-trained in the ancient art of... pizza making.
The whole way across the city though, Vassa is also wondering at how he and his friends might be able to gain entrance to the lair of Xanathar's thugs to rescue Floon without having to fight their way through a million cuthroats in the sewers... and then he has an idea! Looking for an alcove or other quiet out of the way place that he can pop-into, Vassa reaches into his pack and, with a wink at Asa, pulls out his disguise kit...'
[OOC] Vassa is going to duck into a 'phone booth' at the first opportunity to remove his Zhenatrim uniform and use his disguise kit. 'Pleased to have their new guide talking, Vassa will just keep prodding for information as they head to the sewer entrance, taking note of the man's dress, gear and mannerisms from the back of the group,'
"Sooo, you grew up on these streets and your work involves going into the sewers a lot? So who was that trying to kill you back there - a disgruntled customer who didn't get their sewer rat pizza delivered on time?"

Silver just stops and turns to stare at Vassa - he just walks up to him and places his hand on his shoulder looking him in the eye "Because my mother was a drow and my father was a human. There's plenty of people hating us because of who we are. Don't give them fuel for that fire."
As he turned and began to guide them again he just looked over his shoulder "I'll do whatever someone needs within reason for the right amount of coin - can't be picky. Though I try not encroach on pizza delivering - the tortles in the sewer would have my head."

'Vassa meets Silver's gaze and listens carefully to the man's voice as he speaks, though he merely smiles in wonder as their newest companion returns to the front to guide the party forward.
After a moment, the unusually gullible bard asks,'
"Sooo... these tortle pizza makers that you mentioned..."
[OOC] Oh you better believe that I'm going to insight the hell out of that: 4
Gahhh! Doomed to never pierce the shroud that hangs about Silver's impenetrable unknowableness! >_<

Silver just smiled playing along with the joke as they walked forward "Four brothers who got together after their father, a rat of all things, adopted them and taught them the ancient art. It's actually pretty good - probably would continually beat out any competition that started up."

The fellow who emerges from the alcove will (hopefully) look exactly like the leader of Xanathar's thugs who punched on with Yagra in the Portal last night. disguise kit check: 17
