Yorvalor hurriedly finishes a song and declares to the audience. “Ladies and gentlemen, patrons of this fine establishment. If you will excuse me, I shall take a short leave”. Most people doesn’t notice that the music has stopped. Yorvalor puts down the lute he was playing. He straps Slash (his trusted Steampunk Guitar) behind his back and makes a beeline to his friends at the bar.

Emund recognizes the emblem and the order that the folks around are talking about having seen, and he recognizes that they are generally more secretive, but would what he knows about them be cause for concern? Would he know if they're shady-secretive as opposed to low-key-secretive?
Yorvalor: You take a minute to think about what, or who, Blackscales is. It's a name that comes in plenty of more recent tunes, but then again, replace one pirate name with another and songs stay the same. All you can recall about the name is that it's a figure of some renown. A pirate and privateer. And a dangerous one at that. You head over to the bar with the rest of your friends.
Emund: (Give me a INT / Religion check). You think back on scripture and the inner workings of the Faith. They're not directly discussed in scripture, and you've never seen members of this Order strictly in Dunnour. But, they are certainly a precursor to trouble? Change? It's on the tip of your mind... (Will fill in more depending on the roll)
Elric & Cade: The two of you hear Yarvalor finish and begin heading over to meet up with you all. But your eyes catch the tieflings, holding a look between the three of you for a few moments too long. He eventually tips his head, tapping his hat in a gesture of a wave before he pulls out a ornate pocket watch. Glancing at the time, before looking to the door, and then back to his drink. It's that single moment that feels... weird. How he's dressed is certainly more for someone from the working class. The pocket watch could be some kind of heirloom. Or he could be a noble now in hiding.
The sound of thuds and heavy feet striking the stairs echo near the bar for a moment as the four of you are at the bar. Nikoli to be in a bit of a hurry. He does take a minute to stop and look at you all. "Good playin," he says before slamming his strong hand on to Cade's shoulder. "And you better not be wastin' away here today." He then heads off, going downstairs with another set of heavy footsteps. Normally he isn't quite as rushed. "Where I put that." Some sounds of scraping, moving something downstairs across the stone and back. Then, he comes barreling back up the stairs. Out of breath from all the running around - at least for him. A satchel clenched in one of his hands. "Now, boys, what do you all need today?" he said, wiping a few beads of sweat off of his nose.

Despite an awareness of this Knightly Order, Emund has trouble recalling much about them. Their presence is enough to unnerve, but he shakes it off and turns to face Nikoli.
”You know how Cade likes his drink. How goes things here?” Emund turns his head an waves to Yorvalor as he approaches, and then turns back to Nikoli. “Awfully hurried, are you?”
Elric was about to answer cade but he notice Yarvalor has finished and coming over. "Hold that thought" he said. As he get up, reach out, and shake Yarvalor's hand, also strong pat on his back "Yarvalor, My dear friend. its been a while, great to see you and your... umm.. whats that thing call again?"
Elric turns around and nod at Nikoli as respect. "job, and more coins...as usual... but now, what I really want is another ale" waving his nearly empty pint.
"that tiefling, at Isabella's spot" with a much lowered voice, Elric said. "isn't he .. Keegan's ... ummm... acquaintance? "
Cade stares up to see Yorvalor. Cade gives the musician a weak smile. He had no idea whether to call the performance good or not. He gestures over to any empty seat.
"Your shows are always..... interesting," Cade says trying to not offend his friend. Cade goes back to staring at the tiefling. Cade sighs. He rises and slowly approaches the tiefling man. Cade dodging the other customers as best as he could. Cade takes a deep breath.
"Well, greetings, what brings you to this mighty fine establishment?" Cade asks the tiefling. Cade gestures to the barmaid to bring the two of them a pair of drinks.
Yorvalor makes his way to his friends, half looking at the new figure. The new situation makes him forget about Blackscales for the moment. He says “Hello Emund, did you guys notice the newcomer?” to Emund, and then he shakes Elric’s hand and pat on his back too. “It has been a while indeed; I hope all is well my friend. Oh, Slash? Interesting you haven’t seen me carrying it around. I got it custom made back at the Bard College of Stony Brooks.”
He then says “Thanks...” to Cade, but before he can continue, Cade gets up and starts to make his way to the tiefling and starts to talk to him. “Keegan’s acquaintance?” he thinks to himself.
Yorvalor tries to listen to the conversation through the background noise, (perception check: 8), he also tries to figure out if the tiefling is friendly or not (insight check: 20).

Keegan comes rushing in to the inn, heading straight towards his friends. Catching the barmaids eyes he holds up 2 fingers, ordering two of his usual glasses of whiskey. Wrapping his arm around Yorvalor "Hey mate, sorry I'm late again, I had to hide in a larder all day waiting for her husband to finally leave! He has no common courtesy, this one, making me wait on him like that. If he ever finds out he better thank me for keeping his wife from nagging him for attention. It's a real charitable thing I do." Tossing wink and a knowing smirk at his friends. Taking the two glasses of whiskey Keegan tosses one down and then starts sipping the second glass slowly.
“Greetings Keegan!!” says Yorvalor as he gets closer to his friend from his hug. “Indeed, you are being very noble helping the helpless and needy...” Yorvalor uses his fingers to make a quote sign when he says the last word and reciprocates his friend’s wink. “By the way, my dear friend, do you by any chance happens to know that fellow?” he points to Isabella’s usual spot. “Also you haven’t happen to have seen Isabella on your way in, have you? Nikoli looks over at Emund with a bit of a nod. "Busy as always," he said as he looks around the room again. "Got some company coming I s'pose." The way he lingers on company, and the way he is holding that satchel of coins make it seem like not everything could be on the up and up. "But enough talk of business. You know how 'tis here." He notices the few other small glasses of whiskey and drinks, making a note to add it to your groups running tab. It's in that moment that Emund remembers a little bit more about the crossed swords logo; a group that works on a small scale and generally more secrecy, but not specifically clandestine. They could be some of the groups that like to pull on threads, and see how it unravels before reporting back.
Yorvalor finds the tiefling hard to read, but he does catch Keegan's eye rather quickly. It's definitely Tharii - a contact you've worked with for awhile now. He normally doesn't show up in places like this though. Tharii looks at his watch, before looking to the door.
The room gets a little bit more hushed as the main way inside slams open. Four Noctis, two in some basic armor, one in some kind of leather armor, and the other in more fashionable clothing walk in. Noctis are a interesting species... the three in armor are clearly Soulborn. Their characteristics looking like their parents, in this case, two of them having the same body build as a orc and one of a human. The one in finer clothing, clearly a Pureborn, her parents both being Noctis and creating a tall hardy humanoid. Their skin colors ranging from a light lavender to a deep purple. Hair that's straight black, except for the Pureborn who has stark white hair. All with that same menacing, deep red eyes. The Pureborn having a few tattoos across it's face, like stripes that run from forehead to chin.
The Pureborn walks up to the born, placing her hands on the table. A ring on her right hand with the crest of the Conquering Warlord, now King, on it. "Time to pay your dues, tavernkeep," she says. Quick. To the point. Nikoli appears to be a bit shocked. Despite having money in his hand, it's clear this is not what it was for....
The remaining Soulborn are keeping a close eye on the tavern. They're not fools and understand the tensions that have been going on since they took power.
Cade stands beside the tiefling waiting for an answer from him. Cade hears the sound of the door opening and a group of noctis entering. Cade scoffs at the group. He swears something in Elvish under his breath. Cade has always hated the noctis and he did his best to avoid the race. Cade cleared his throat waiting for Tharii's reply.
The Tiefling blinks a few times, as if he hadn't recognized Cade standing there. "Oh. You mean me?" he asks shaking his head out of clearly whatever thought he was in. He glances at Cade, then back over the group he came from, then back to Cade. "I'm here to see something," his voice trailed off. "I have... work for hire. But first I need to," he humms and haws a bit. Trying to think of the best choice of words. "see proof of merit? I know someone that frequents here," his eyes shift back over to Keegan. "So I figured this spot may prove worthwhile."
Following Yorvalors point Keegan finally notices Tharii. Seeing his contact out in the open, and at his favorite tavern, is very unsettling. Normally they exchange info or contact each other throw drop locations and coded signals. Keegan moves to head towards Cade and Tharii when the Noctis enter, watching the exchange with Nikoli and the panicked look on his face. Keegan will start to head towards the stairs in the middle of the tavern, wanting to have a fair vantage point should trouble break out, trying to make eye contact with Tharii as he passes by.
Yorvalor straightens his outfit, brings Slash to the front and starts to strum a slow smoothing song, and slowly walks to the Pureborn (Performance: 24). “Greetings My Lady." He respectfully bowls. "It is a great day in the Noctic Kingdom. May I buy you a drink?” Yorvalor order two glasses of fine wine. Raises one to the Pureborn, does his best charming smile, and says “Hail the King (Noctic), may I know whom am I toasting with?” (Persuasion: 18). He leaves the glass hanging in the air waiting to see what the Pureborn does.

Emund offers Nikoli an expression of compassion, recognizing how busy the fellow often is. He sees the barkeep’s expression when the Pureborn Noctis asks for a payment and looks to his side at her, trying to glean whether the tone was cruel or just direct because of tiredness from a day’s worth of collecting (Insight: 25).
As Yorvalor begins to strum, Emund begins to quietly say a short prayer, throws back his drink, and gets up from his seat, reaching to pat Yorvalor on the shoulder, before making his way to the back room (Prayer and Touch to cast Guidance on Yorvalor).
Once in the back room, Emund straightens his clothing, pulls the holy symbol of The Faith out from under his shirt, and waits to hear how things unfold, spear within reach.
Noticing the familiar look on Cade’s face and seeing his blades slide out of their sheaths, Keegan moves to intercept him. “Breath mate, jus’ breath. Yer not in the war anymore, you’re at a tavern surrounded by innocent folk. I’m just as keen for a fight as any o’ ya, but maybe we can solve this with Yorvalor’s sweet words and not yer blades.”
Cade takes a deep breath and smiles at Keegan. Cade silently thanks Keegan for bringing him back to reality. Cade sheaths his blades.
"I am okay," Cade says wiping away his tears (deception: 12). Cade looks on seeing what Yorvalor would do next. Cade was still visibly shaken by the whole ordeal. He prayed that Keegan wouldn't catch his lie. Usually Cade was very good at lying. Wandering around from place to place made him excellent at lying to people and most importantly to himself.
Emund, standing near the tax collected, you find her a little hard to read. There's a brashness about her, something of a stereotype with the Noctis. You're fairly certain there's no malice in her words. One of her guards does notice Cade originally standing there, drawing his blades. The guard in kind beginning to reach for his. But once Keegan intercepts, you notice a fellow guard nudge the other to back off. The look around the room a bit tense. You all get the feeling that they're not here for bloodshed either, especially when outnumbered in a bar.
The Pureborn looks over to Yorvalor, looking him up and down. A little bit of a smile does tug on the corner of her face when he brings up the glass. "Sarah," she says with a nod. Taking the glass and giving it a small raise in honor of the king and a slow sip. With a human name, she probably traces her pureborn status to human lines. Their species not yet having any true culture or conventions of their own, due to their only recent coming into the world. One of the mysteries of the universe to many. She glances back to her guards, then other to Cade and Keegan, before back to Nikoli and Yorvalor. "It seems we have come at a time where.... you are bringing in your coin and revelry. We can return in two days." She sips the wine, only finishing about a third before placing it down. "Thank you for the drink. I hope that you," she pauses as she eyes Yorvalor, "play here often."
She turns on her heel, the guards moving around her as they leave almost as quickly as they came. Probably off to collect from some other location that's more open in the evening than during the day.
Tharii, having watched the exchange, stands and moves over to Cade and Keegan. "You keep interesting friends, Keegan." His hands move on to both Cade and Keegan's shoulders. "A warrior. A hunter. A charmer. Whatever that one does," he looks over at Elric, "and a priest." He releases his hands from both shoulders, taking a few steps back. He pulls out his pocket watch once again, checking the time. "I have work. Of a different sort. For those interested. If we can talk in private somewhere."

"I am interested in a job of some sorts, I am Dalton Foxtrot," Cade says not really trusting the tiefling man (deception: 26). Cade turns to Keegan.
"He pays you well?" Cade asks Keegan, while trying to lead them to the cellar of the tavern.
