"Gentoa, your mother is safe and we are on our way to see her. She said they are en route to Masa now. They parley in eight days. Most of all she is unharmed. Let's move quickly and try and gain ground."

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
"Mama!" Gentoa says as the group packs up their gear for another long day on the road.
DM Shield:

The group spends the next 2 days riding along the road, nothing especially interesting happening. Gentoa seems happy at first but begins to throw tantrums and ask increasingly about her mother. At the end of the second day, the group arrives in the small town of Mestus. Here they get a warm meal and a roof over their heads (1 gold spent each.)
The sheer distance to Masa becomes evident over the next 4 days. The group makes progress but it is monotonous work following the road along this stretch. The road is mostly flat with occasional hills and, at one point, a sizable bridge. They encounter no towns after Mestus and only rarely another traveler. The nights become colder and a constant, biting breeze begins to dog the group. Two different traveling merchants warn of dangers follow the road further south. "Something is attacking people on the road," a merchant says. "I had no trouble, though."
DM shield:

The group does not have the same luck, however. Several hours after crossing the large bridge, the road winds through a low wetlands. Hills rise to the west and south and the large mountains that have thus far stayed to their right are now behind them, to the north. The road is not as well-maintained here but it is still in relatively good condition, so travel has not slowed. As the group is once more lulled into another day of travel along the Long Road, a terrifying screech fills the sky above them. Startled from their silence, each looks up to see the silhouette of a large dragon descending upon them. It is difficult to make out the color at first, but as they draw their weapons, the sun glints off its neck revealing forest-green scales. There is no place to hide here. A few trees dot the landscape in the distance, but the party is quite exposed to the descending beast.

For simplicity's sake, everyone may go first, then the dragon will go.
"Agreed. Interesting she is not already in Masa. We could try to overtake her. Let's get moving. Genny we will get you back to your mother. Are you having fun? Also whatever happened to those goat figurine toys we found in that city under the mountain? Do you still play with them?"
As they get moving, Dog will look at the map, and try to estimate how many days it will take to get to Masa from where they are, judging by their progress with the horses thus far. Is it more or fewer than eight days? If more, Dog will suggest a very ambitious pace - trotting, eating rations in the saddle/cart, and giving horses a rest by walking them on the road rather than stopping often.
He will also suggest keeping an aerial scouting presence as they move, whether by Keyrie shifting into a flying creature from time to time, or Dog trying out the winged boots, ascending to a few hundred feet every hour or two when there are not many passers-by.
Once a night Gash will check in on Nev with sending. He will apologize to Gen for not being able to let her hear her mother. But assures Gen her mom is safe and we are going to see her soon. Gash also teaches Gen the command words for light and to make the the driftTok float but doesn’t teach her how to activate daylight.
Gash sends Friend high above them as they travel and the owl familiar keeps lookout for them as they travel

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
Tock was already playing with his Wand of Wonder and this looks like the perfect opportunity to try it out! He will use it targeting the dragon (or hold his action until it comes into range).
Wand of Wonder roll: 57 - it casts Darkness on the dragon
"Oh wow!!" is all he manages to say, having not had any real expectation that anything at all would happen.
(OOC: Yofizz scroll up to #2284! I think you missed it!)
well, i very much did! lol
"Friend! What the heck? You didn't notice a dragon coming this way?!"
Gash casts Fireball on the area of darkness seeing that his fireballs are bigger than the area of darkness he targets it right in the middle if he can't see the Dragon.
Dex save 15 for half damage: 28

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
(the dragon is 151 feet away when first spotted. It can arrive in one round, but cannot attack that round. It won't be within range until its turn. If anyone wants to run or take some non-combat action, now is the time to do it! Although, Gash can cast his fireball just in front of the dragon now before it makes it in range to Tock's wand.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
DEX(15) check: 9 (The dragon chooses to save instead, using up one of its three legendary resistance abilities)
The green dragon, at the beginning of its dive, is struck first by Gash's fireball. In a dramatic spiraling maneuver, it protects itself from the brunt of the explosion, then begins its dive again.
(Keyrie still can't transform into something with a flying speed unfortunately.)
Keyrie looks up at the dragon and her eyes widen, "Demons, Minotaurs, Mazes, and now Dragons!!!" Keyrie will summon 8 swarms of Ravens. "Hopefully we can use the swarms for help to escape, is there anyway we can hide or get away somehow? Maybe teleport everyone away and come back later? I'm honestly not sure we can take a dragon."
“If we cant teleport everyone right this instant the dragon will be upon us.”
Stones dismounts and draws his daggers (arcane focus) in preparation of fighting the dragon, assuming it won’t be polite enough to land in a convenient melee spot.
(Btw, I’ll be posting on mobile for the next bit of time, so for things like GWF, if someone else would be able to note if I roll a 1 or 2 for the damage, I’d be grateful.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dog taps his winged boots and lifts 30 feet straight into the air, pulling an arrow from his quiver and nocking and drawing it with his longbow. He looses it just as he hits 30 feet, and fires again, before stowing away his bow and readying his javelin of lightning. He's ready to meet the dragon's descent in a way that lets him swoop around and try to match its trajectory to try to land on its back next round (let me know what rolls that would entail, if any!).
Longbow Attack: 18 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Longbow Extra Attack: 16 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.

A reply comes relatively quickly. "I am unharmed. En route to Masa. We parley in eight days. Send Gentoa my love and keep her safe. See you here."
