Stones steps out with his hands raised to chest level, palms out. “Whoa whoa whoa! Hey there friend! I think there’s been a misunderstanding! You see, as my companion has said, we are preparing the young one for a camping trip. Of course, education is most important and we wanted to show her what to expect, so we have been teaching her about local wildlife, such as these birds.” With that he pulls out his birdcage and uses Minor Illusion to create an image of a bird inside it. “The problem is that I knew such displays would create a crowd and we didn’t have a permit for public displays of aviary illusion! Of course we didn’t want to create an unauthorized public disturbance so we had to move under this tiny, and really out of the way dome. Why, we would never create a nuisance! My heart would be broken, broken if I thought that I would cause any disruption to this wonderful town. Please, can’t you see that we broke no law, just that we merely, misplaced our proper family location!” Stones clasps his hands and looks at the guard with wide eyes.
Dog leans back out, and politely, if confusedly, gives his answers when they ask, after saying, "I'm very sorry, we didn't know it were against the rules to camp here, honest!"

Finally, to Gash's innocuous question, he misses the suggestion and says, "Oh, sorry, I'm not allowed to file your payment for you. You will have to do that at the courthouse in the morning. Could you please have your mage dispell this dome?"

"Uh, hello big fella," Griff says. As Bulwark continues to stare, Griff shifts uncomfortably. "Captain?"
The elder watchman comes over and sizes Bulwark up. Insight(13) check: 7 "Hmm," he says, little more than a grunt. "I reckon this one is a warforged. He's a sentient by decree of the Mage King. Not many of them in Alcion...at least in a long while." The captain smiles thinly at Bulwark. "Don't be shy, warforged. Play nicely and we'll all be on our way."
"Identity: Bulwark. Age: Indeterminate. Race: You have identified me as a 'Warforged'. City of Residence: N/A. Travel Destination: Tamsarus. Business: Guard duty. Outstanding fines or warrants: Negative."
Griff writes everything down dilligently. He takes so long writing that one might wonder if he was transcribing everyting word for word. At last he passes over sleepy Gentoa and settles on Stones and Keyrie. "And you two?" he says to the tabaxi and firbolg.
“I am Colored Stones in the Stream of Clan River Tree. I am a 24 year old Tabaxi. I have no city of residence, but I am from west of Cloudspire Mountains. I’m traveling with this fine group to Tamsarus. I’m here because the group stopped here. I’m a bard and traveling with them as an opportunity to share my performances with many people. I believe my clan resides in Alcion, so yes a citizen. I have no outstanding fines or warrants here or anywhere.“
"Right," Griff says as he digs through a pouch. "You lot seem decent enough. Here are five orange chits for your infraction. We trust you will honor your debt to the city. Turn them in when you pay your fine."
Griff hands Dog the chits. They appear to be made of wood and have not been dyed or stained. Rather, they are made of a naturally orange colored wood. Each chit is etched with "Fine."
The captain comes over, seeing Griff is done. "Okay. Thank ye for not putting up a fuss. Now get ye to an inn. I recommend The Vassal's Vainglory."
With that, the watchmen begin to disperse the townspeople, leaving the party to depart.
Dog tries his best to keep up his dopey accent when he speaks on the way to the inn, which is rarely - he's keeping quiet and hoping their illusions hold until they get behind closed doors for the night. The sooner he can get them safely out of this town the better.
Tock playfully activates his Gem of Seeing before they leave the shrine and looks at eeeverything through it like a teenager would if playing with a random glass-like object.
The group arrives at The Vassal's Vainglory. It is a three-story manor on a large wooded property. It contains its own stables and a separate bath house. Upon arrival, the footman bows and goes to retrieve the major domo. He returns with a tall, poised elf.
The elf looks them over with what is probably a permanent frown. "We provide grooms, attendants, and meals. Your...lion...will need to stay in the north paddock. It will be 38 gold per day for your entire party and...animals. May I inquire how many days you intend to stay?"
“Ah before we answer, would you be interested in reducing the price for the pleasure of having a bard perform for your guests during our stay? I provide a variety of entertainment displays such as song, dance, storytelling, magic tricks, jokes and juggling!”
Stones steps out with his hands raised to chest level, palms out. “Whoa whoa whoa! Hey there friend! I think there’s been a misunderstanding! "Maybe we just pay you the gold directly now before we cause any further ruckus?"

"Affirmation: I am normal."
"Glad to hear it. Griff, take his information."
Griff steps up and runs through the list of questions with Bulwark.
Tock makes a fart sound after Bulwark finishes his "i am normal" sentence.

:Keyrie. 20. Firbolg. No city of residence. Tamsarus. Traveling Through. Yes. No." Keyrie is curt and to the point.
