Solaris is located atF4 places an arrow in his shortbow takes aim at Goblin5’s eye and releases his arrow. Evil will not be escaping this cave tonight. Attack: 15 Damage: 3
Solaris' experience gave him the upper hand in this battle, and his arrow hits the goblin (5), injuring him.
(HIT - goblin 5 suffers 5 damage)
Goblin 5 - Dead Goblin 2 - dead Adolmain Goblin 6 (Yeemik) - DEAD Autzen Goblin 3 - 5 damage Goblin 4 - DEAD Solaris Goblin 1 - 5 damage Rastin
Rastin contemplates giving these goblins the opportunity to surrender. He thinks there is an even chance they will lay down there weapons given that their leader was just cut down, they are confused and being ambushed by an unknown number of attackers. However, Rastin decides the better course of action is to force them to give up rather than allow them a moment to regroup. He rushes past his companions to assume his role as protector, but more importantly he positions himself to unleash poisonous death. (Move to D4). As a result of being caught unawares, the goblins are conveniently grouped together such that Rastin is able to consume them all in his cone of deadly, poisonous breath which he unleashes on the hapless enemies. (Dragon Breath).
All his life, Rastin wanted to prove to the world he was more than a “creature”. But today, at this moment, in this fight, he needs to release the inner beast.
The goblins shriek as Rastin’s poisonous breath engulfs them. They begin to panic and choke, calling for someone to help them. Two goblins succumb to the gas, falling down dead with distorted death masks. Their tongues roll and their eyes are wide.
Adolmain speaks the words granted to him by Valandras for his recent victories within these caves. He knows that his God must be pleased as smites these evil creatures that would tie up and torture other beings. As he makes the symbol for guiding bolt he targets Goblin 4. Attack 13 Damage: 9. If he misses he uses favored by the gods 4

The adventurers' power grows, as evidenced by the evisceration of the goblins in this cave. Before the party ventured out to deliver a wagon, they were but novices to battle. But experience breeds efficiency, and this group of companions has proven efficient in killing.
Adolmain's magic surrounds the goblin (4). The goblin lets its guards down as the magical energy appears to miss it, but Adolmain says a few words and the magical energy re-adjusts and the energy saps the life out of the target, killing it.
(Initial attack missed but favor of the gods leads to a HIT - goblin 4 dead)
Awakening from a momentary daze, Autzen sees his shot. Two goblins remain standing, but not for much longer. Drawing his bow he readies one arrow with a second primer. He releases his arrow at the first target (G3) and in a flash releases a second at the last remaining (1)
(OOC: on my phone and it’s a little janky but Autzen will be using his new second action)
The constant flow of battle this day has bred familiarity with combat, and Autzen takes advantage with two successive shots. His first shot hits a goblin (3) squarely, killing the goblin instantly. Autzen's second shot however missed badly. More "practice" is needed by Autzen, but he feels emboldened realizing his power has grown the more he engages in combat.
(HIT - goblin 3 dead. Goblin 1 the only goblin left).

Solaris eyes the last goblin and moves within striking distance for his quarterstaff Attack: 8 Damage: 5 followed by his unarmed strike Attack: 24 Damage: 7
Solaris misses with his quarterstaff and groans as he still hasn't mastered the art of attack with his trusty quarterstaff. But like many times before, he knows how to to unleash fury with his legs and feet due to years of monk training. The kick shatters the ribs of the last remaining goblin, who dies.
An eery quietness fills the cavern, but for the sounds of running water and a moan from the hurting Sildar.
"Help me……." the dark haired fighter says above the sound of water. "I…need to get to Phandalin. Please unbind me…….."
Sildar rolls over, not before the the party sees signs of torture and pain on his bare skin. He has numerous open wounds throughout his body. Mosquitos and flies hover around him, but they soon expand throughout the cavern to have a taste of new meat - dead goblin meat.
(All goblins dead. Each of you receive 75 EXP. Combat is over. Move and interact with Sildar in any order you want. Also feel free to use ability checks, search the room, etc., etc.).
Adolmain speaks as he unties Sildar “are you ok? Do you remember us we were hired by the dwarf to escort your goods. We found your horses dead in the road and figured you were ambushed. Lucky we got here when we did or you could have been goblin chow. So where is the dwarf? And are you well enough for travel?”
Solaris searches the dead and finds various blood stained coins on the dead. Specifically: 1 platinum piece, 46 silver pieces, 34 copper pieces. Solaris also finds something macabre - 3 gold teeth in a pouch affixed to Yeemik's dead corpse. The brutality of the goblins knows no bounds, as evidenced by the teeth of their victims.
Sildar rubs his wrists after Adolmain unties them, wincing from the pain.
"I'm in bad shape" Sildar says as he unleashes blood colored spit to the ground.
Sildar stands 6'2, in his late 40s, and is in excellent shape. He has an air of seriousness about him. He looks like an able fighter and man, even after suffering to the wretched goblins.
"I'll need some healing if you have any. Were you able to get the supplies to Phandalin?" he asks
Before you can reply, Sildar gathers the party. He and Gundren were ambushed on the road to Phandelin, so it was clear to him that someone had tipped the goblins off. He begins to tell you some fascinating information...
"Poor Gundren. The goblins have taken him to Cragmaw Castle. I don't know where it is, but I suspect if we investigate in Phandelin we can find the whereabouts, assuming we can survive in the wretched town. We must find Gundren. Gundren, and his brothers Tharden and Nundro have found the entrance to the Wave Echo Cave."
Sildar looks at you curiously as you give him blank stares when he mentions the cave. He continues.
"Wave Echo Cave is supposedly filled with riches. Riches that could be useful to the Lords Alliance. Apparently, someone who calls himself the "Black Spider" wants the treasure for himself, so he must have ordered his goblin servants to nap Gundren to get the location. We need to resupply, investigate and rescue Gundren before it is too late. I have a friend who may be able to help, the wizard Iarno Albrek, but I haven't heard from him in two months, and I'm concerned. I will pay you 50 GP if you escort me to Phandalin. I will pay you when we get there. What say you companions? The Lords Alliance needs you. I need you. Gundren needs you. I know we have just met, and you have found yourself dealing with evil that you didn't expect, but man to man, I can tell you that if the Black Spider gets a hold of the treasure in Echo Cave, nobody will be safe. Will you help me?"
Sildar stands and walks to his equipment, beginning to equip his armor and weapon. He groans and grunts while doing so.
(Part 1 of the campaign will end when all of you signify that you will escort Sildar to Phandelin. Feel free to ask questions of Sildar now, or of course you can always ask once you reach the city)
Solaris states “ I am interested in helping this dwarf, with any luck your supply wagon should be where we left it we did not escort all the way through because we ran into the ambush and thought it would be better to rescue you then to deliver the goods. I look forward to the adventure!”

Adolmain tried to recall having ever heard of this Black Spider person history19. Although it doesn’t really matter if this person is evil this seems like exactly what he should be doing. “I will accompany you on this mission to save Gundren! How long will our stay in town be? I am eager to get to this castle and set things straight.”

Adolmain doesn't recall anything about the "Black Spider," though he recognizes that the name sounds menacing...
Sildar, fully equipped now, eyes Adolmain with a nod of approval. He recognizes Adolmain as the potential leader of the group, as Rastin and Autzen look on, with no words. An interesting collection of adventurers the fighter thinks to himself. A Tiefling, Dragonborn, an Elf, and and Asimar. Years ago, Sildar would have let his prejudices trump opportunity. He had no love for non-humans. But this collection of companions rescued him from a fate worse than death, so Sildar can let old prejudices die.
"Thank you Adolmain. I'm as anxious as you to find Gundren, but who knows when we'll have enough information to mount an effective rescue mission. I suggest we head to town, quiz the locals and bandits in the area, and go from there."
He looks at Solaris, "And yes Solaris, let's get those supplies. They still must be delivered."
Sildar looks at Rastin and Autzen, awaiting their response.
(Assuming Rastin and Autzen approve of heading to town, I will fast travel everyone to the town entrance, with an assumption you go pick up the supplies you hid at the ambush.)
"I'm in agreement with Adolmain, although it might be best to discuss our continued employment beyond our trip into town. 50 GP to escort you to Phandalin seems reasonable, but what of the more daunting task of clearing Wave Echo Cave and saving Grunden?"

"Thank you Tiefling," Sildar says. "I see you are a man of the coin, and as a sellsword myself, I can appreciate that. I am not doing this for free, and I have been assured I will be compensated fairly for my efforts. I suspect you will be as well. The riches from Wave Echo cave are vast, with recurring coin from mining the cave expected to last years. I'm sure Gundren and his brothers will be more than willing to share………what's left after the Lords Alliance of course take their rightful cut for the benefit of the realm."
"What say you Dragonborn?"
