Adolmain is shocked that this big black one eyed creature is a fighter. He thought that this creature would see the carnage and quit the fight but this bastard has doubled down. Adolmain bursts into light wings spring from his back and light shining from his eyes as he gains altitude At E1. He targets the Nothic with guiding bolt under inspiration Attack: 21 Damage: 20 Adolmain also calls upon the gods to bless this shot should his aim fail favored of the gods: 7 he will also add 3 radiant damage to his attack .
The Nothic surprisingly appeared relatively strong after the attack from the Tiefling. What strength the "thing" had left him, as Adolmain's guiding bolt struck the Nothic with enough power to kill most creatures in Neverwinter.
But this isn't an ordinary creature.
This is a Nothic.
And the Nothic still lives.

Solaris easily descends down the crevasse to the chest where Rastin secured Talon. Within the chest you find 160 sp, 120 gp, five greenish gems, two glass viles filled with some type of liquid, and an old scroll.
Solaris doesn't notice anything else unusual about the Nothic lair — other than a dead Nothic and a dead mage….
Adolmain searches the body of the mage and casually asks “uh yah hey guys there is this staff here I have been looking for something like this is it cool if I use it?” perception19
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Rastin quickly scans the room to take in the surreal scene that plays out around him. The mage and the nothic are dead in front of him. Above him, a hail of thorns poised, paused even, in the air ready to rain down on him. He can't help but think this reminds him of a scene from some unseen, as yet uncreated, play (movie? hmm, what is that?), where a futuristic wizard of sorts seemingly slows time to dodge, even pluck out of thin air, projectiles that are being shot at him by his enemies. And all the while his companions, seemingly aware of his potential plight, but not terribly interested, scavenge the cavern for treasures.
Rastin knows that his life hangs in the balance because he feels the terrible damage that was inflicted upon him by the nothic when he sacrificed himself for his party by moving forward to slay the mage to ensure they would all live. While he feels confident in his abilities, he also hopes that his colleagues will remember to take a moment from plundering to aid him should he fail to dodge the attack that was unleashed by these same friends of his who are tossing the room like a bunch of thieves. It seems likely that they will remember him, right? He takes some solace from the fact that if he does fall, it will likely be on or near the staff that Adolmain is eyeing so lustfully, so the sorcerer would have to do something about his unconscious body at least to retrieve the staff.
Rastin shakes himself from thought, unpauses the not quite completed battle, at least for him, and deftly dodges the multiple daggers. Dexterity save 19
Adolmain searches the body of the mage and casually asks “uh yah hey guys there is this staff here I have been looking for something like this is it cool if I use it?” perception19
Solaris gathers the loot from the chest with greedy eyes, like a hungry homeless person searching through an inn's garbage.
Adolmain bolts towards the mage and grabs the dead mage's staff, looking at it like a lover looks at a mate.
Autzen, feeling invigorated, drops down and does some push-ups, feeling healthier and stronger.
All the above occurs while thorns emerge around the dead Nothic, and Rastin, the Dragonborn, who is badly injured, attempts to get out of the way of the exploding thorns that encroach upon him. He deftly dodges most of the thorns, but he still manages to suffer at the friendly fire (Save successful, Rastin takes 3 damage and has 2 HP total). Rastin's breathing is labored, and his body is soaked in blood - his own and his enemies. He paid the price for his valor and courage.
Completely oblivious to Rastin's plights, Adolmain continues to rummage through the dead mage's body, hungry for loot. He notices that under the mage's robe he wears commoner clothes, a sign that the mage had ideas of fleeing. He also finds a map case on the mage. containing two maps. One appears to be a map of the Redbrand hideout the heroes currently reside. Adolmain inspects the map quickly and he realizes how the mage got to the Nothic so quickly without being seen, as the map shows secret doors undoubtedly used by the mage to plan his escape. The map is annotated with numbers and such, but there contains no ledger of what they numbers mean. He also finds a map of the sword coast.
He would not describe it as trust, because by nature Autzen finds the concept of "trust" nonsensical, but he has grown to.... anticipate... his companions.
Seeing Solaris rushing down the embankment to loot would instinctively cause Autzen to go for his Greatsword. However, the common understanding the group has come to gives Autzen some peace, knowing he'll be made whole, assuming they don't all die in this cave. With that weight off his mind, Autzen sees other opportunities.
Moving across the cavern to their dead foes, and speaking as much to himself as to anyone, Autzen remarks "I can't say I've ever seen a Nothic this close up. They must be somewhat rare, right? Perhaps one could fetch a few coins with a Nothic pelt, or perhaps a Nothic tooth necklace." With that, Autzen pulls an arrow from his quiver and, using the arrowhead as a knife, begins to dislodge several of the large Nothic fangs from the lifeless gums.
"Da haf clas smiz xe'p zmulculq las??" Autzen mutters with a small chuckle
As he works, Autzen swears he has heard tales of these types of creatures, were they from the marshy coast? Seems too slimy to be in a dry cave. Perhaps he should remove the eye, where does this creature get it's power from? (Passive Perception Check 11)
"Can I interest any of you in a few of these teeth, or perhaps this massive eye?"

Autzen confirms that the nothic is not thinking anything anymore, as dead is dead...
As Rastin lay groaning on the ground due to his injuries, Autzen proceeds to bypass his companion to remove the Nothic's eye. Blood, puss and innards stain the ground, like spilled wine. Autzen doesn't notice anything of interest, other than a massive brain behind the lone eye……and the smell. (nothing of interest in or on the dead nothic).

Adolmain comments as he he looks on in disbelief at Autzen “I’ll pass on the Nothic parts. Ugh I think I’m going to throw up.” Adolmain does take some time to examine the bottles and the scroll from the Nothic chest using arcana8 he also states “after a short rest we should be healed if not we can cast some heal spells and clean out this hideout!”
Rastin crawls to his pack and recovers some bandages to dress his wounds then finds a dark corner of the cavern to place his bedroll for a short rest hoping to recover some from his wounds. He thinks to himself, “My companions are capable fighters, but I must remember that I alone among them have honor and I mustn’t count on any help from them.”
Solaris finishes resting and walks over to Rastin “Hey man, I know nobody really checked on you after that fight you were amazing! Your so big and strong did you need anything I spent many years in the monastery studying the healing properties of touch should you need it. All you need to do is say the word. I can show you the ancient art of stinkta fistateka grua yanktra spankta facial.”
Your group tends to your wounds and gets in a short rest. During this time, Adolmain inspects the former living mage's staff, caressing it. His heartbeat paces faster, as he realizes he's found a staff of defense. The thought explains the magical shield Glasstaff was able to use during the battle. Adolmain looks at his old staff like a piece of disgarded garbage, and balances the new glass staff with his hands, testing its weight, which is remarkably light.
Meanwhile, Solaris notices the color and opaque nature of the fluid in the two potions, and quickly surmises that they have found two potion of healing — valuable items in the battle to come.
The party is too weary to check the scroll and gems, but Solaris pockets the items for further study and potential sale.
Your party grows stronger by the day, and basks in the glory of finishing two formidable opponents. You all realize there is more work to be done. The area is probably littered with more rebrands, the mage's quarters may have clues, and you wonder what he meant in his taunt that you should tell Sildar that "Larno Albrek sends his regards." Your hearts sink when you think of the words.
(OK, please adjust your HP on character sheets accordingly based on heals and short rest. Also update and replenishing of spell slots and such. You now have a map of the hideout, so you can simply tell me which area you are headed, with rough idea of formation and such. NOTE -I'll assume the staff is attuned to Adolmain since he said he would do that. The staff has 6 charges left (shield takes 2 charges and glassstaff used it twice I believe).
Adolmain has an idea now that he has the staff “ we should probably check out his office he most likely has information in there and we can come back and clear the rest of the rooms. Maybe even trick people if you guys put on red cloaks at first glance they may think we are part of the group may even assume I’m Glassstaff “

Rastin feels much better after recovering from the battle (HP recovery 12)(HP recovery corrected 23). He gives Solaris a strange look, "Thank you, I'm good though. Hopefully we can find Larno. The mage's comment about him makes me concerned he may be dead already." Rastin is prepared to move out next to Solaris leading the way.
