Rastin makes sure that the creature behind Autzen doesn't got a lucky shot in. Rastin wields Talon like a scythe and cuts down the weed. Attack 17 Damage 12
Talon slices through the monster like a hot knife through butter, killing it. (T2 dead).
Autzen can feel the momentum turning as Rastin and Aldomain cover their flank, but none of them are out of the woods just yet. Dimitri still stands alone, and outnumbered, inside the ruins. Switching to his Greatsword and charging further into the room (I6), Autzen takes a full swing at the closest zombie (Z4). Despite circumstances, it feels magnificent to be wielding Red Sword of Pestilence again.

Autzen's attack manages to strike the zombie, wounding it. As the blade enters the zombie, an ash plume emits from the wound, surrounding Autzen and Dimitri.
(Z4 Hit - producing "Ash Puff" - The first time the zombie takes damage, any living creature within 5 feet of the zombie must succeed on a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or gain disadvantage on attack rolls, saving throws, and ability checks for 1 minute. Dimtri smiles as he sees Autzen charging in, wreaking devastation. His mastery of bow and blade are a sight to behold. Dimtri pauses to look in appreciation at the Tiefling's economy of action as he seamlessly blends footwork and momentum to do the most damage with the least effort, cutting down limbs the way a seasoned farmer would reap wheat.
After seeing such grace and fluidity, Dimitri takes the polar opposite approach. He roars and lunges at the zombie, throwing his full body weight into a reckless attack of brute force. He hacks at it with the power of a lumberjack felling a tree. He sees his swing go wide, and at the last second attempts to correct the blade's trajectory. The blade comes crashing into the zombie. It is an awkward attack, but it does the job, cutting deeply into the undead.
OOC: Used one luck attempt. Attacked with Reckless attack

The zombie's (Z4) undead eyes grow wide as Dimitri's great sword wrecks havoc on its body. It begins to falter, grasping for undead life. (Undead Fortitude Con Save (DC: 18): 16 )
This time, the undead indeed dies a final death, dropping at the feet of Autzen and Dimitri.
A zombie (z3) continues its questions for brains and flesh. Autzen looks particularly tasty, and the zombie consequently attacks. (Attack: 22 - Damage: 4).
Autzen takes a solid blow to his chest. He spits blood, but manages to continue to fight. The blood emboldens the zombies, who sense that the living might become the dead soon enough.
Having dispatched of the weeds outside, Rastin says to Adolmain, "I'm heading inside." He hustles to aid Autzen and Dimitri. As he enters the building he sees that they indeed held their own as he anticipated. Ready to finish this fight, he slides past Autzen (to I5) and levels Talon at the neck of the zombie (Z3) with a plan to take its head clean off, noting this is the best way to ensure the undead stay dead, as God intended. Rastin has had his moments in battle. He's also had regrets and challenges. Early on, the Dragonborn was frustrated, as he was more of a protector than an attacker. Today, however, he is an attacker, and with Talon in hand he's now lethal.
The sword pierces the neck of the zombie. The undead howls at him, and the rest of the adventurers notice. They look on as an ash smoke leaves the zombies' mouth — a cloud of death.

Seeing Rastin rushing through door gives Autzen a great sense of relief, though that relief is short lived as he sees the Dragonborn strike the zombie will full force... not knowing the ash cloud these disgusting creatures have been releasing. Rolling dice on his first approach, Autzen again begins to beat his death black wings in an attempt to clear the air
Rastin momentarily smiles as he sees the zombie's head separated from its upright corpse. Then he notices the cloud of dark ash rush forth from the zombie's mouth. He swiftly uses his shield to forcefully fan cloud away. Constitution save 11
Autzen’s and Rastin’s quick wits manage to fan the cloud of death away from them. They still breathe in some of the putrid ash, but they are able to fight on without negative impacts (save success).

It's been a battle that has seemed to gone on for ages. If he prayed, Autzen, covered in bone dust and blood, would pray for and end to these creatures. But the gods will hear no such prayers from Autzen on this day.
Capitalizing on their renewed strength in numbers, Autzen focuses on felling his foe, a gamble, but a calculated one. With one fluid motion, he brings the Red Sword above his own head and down upon the walking dead's (Z2).
