Rastin strides into the room wielding Talon and advances on the closest Redbrand (C4). He slashes the enemy expecting to end this battle quickly. Attack 20 Damage 12
Just less than a week ago, Rastin, a dragonborn, thought he'd honorably escort and deliver a caravan for some coin. Good work for a young Paladin finding his mark in the world. But here he stands today, welding Talon, a blade enchanted with magic and memories. Rastin decides to create new memories with Talon, which is bad news for the Redbrand.
Talon slices the drunk Redbrand like butter. The blood of the Redbrand rolls off the magical blade like water on a leaf. Rastin and Talon share their first kill as master and servant. Talon will be a fine servant indeed….

Adolmain moves to D4 and views the carnage marveling at how fast this unlikely band has changed since starting the what seemed a relatively mundane task of escorting a supply cart. When his angel spoke to him in his dreams telling him to join this expedition he doubted that this venture would actually be as important as it is in saving people from evil especially for someone like himself who was gifted by God to protect those from evil but nevertheless here we are and there is work to be done. “Spirit if god descend like flames “ as he casts sacred flame Damage: 5 On Redbrand 1

Solaris moves to B1 and strikes with his quarterstaff as there is only one unfortunate Redbrand remaining but everything appears to have happened so fast that he isn’t even aware he should stop fighting. Attack: 7 and to end this he hopes to deal a finishing blow with a foot and his unarmed attack 18

The Redbrand howls in pain as the quarterstaff hits him squarely. His teeth explode and his jaw breaks with a loud crack (Solaris attack HITS).
"Stop!" you hear in the common tongue. At the door on the east side of a room a man looks at your party and the dead.
The mage is wearing a robe fitting for a prince, and he wields a beautiful glass staff.
"There is no need for bloodshed here Adolmain, Autzen, Rastin and Solaris. Please stand down. I mean you no harm. Please…come into my office. Kill the last drunk if you like. I have no need for drunken fools. Please don't judge all of the Redbrands. Many are idiots, but some are fine men. This isn't one of them."

Years from now, it is entirely likely this last Redbrand will seek vengeance for the slaughter of his friends. Autzen sees only one clear resolution to that. The mage has provided his feelings on the subject, there seems to be no reason to leave loose ends.
Stepping over the bloody mess of a failed foe in front of him (R1) Autzen moves across the room slowly (C1). Then, in a flash, Auzten once more raises his Double-Bladed Scimitar and attacks with force and fury. If he is to find vengeance, the last remaining drunkard will need to find it now...

The last remaining Redbrand looks at the mage in shock, confused and scared. He attempts to sidestep Autzen's attack, but he's clumsy. The initial strike hits the Redbrand, but he manages to avoid the second attack by Autzen. The Redbrand (3) is bloodied, but still alive.
The party notices a slight grin on the mage's face. He says some faint words and looks on.

"This place continues to offer surprises," thinks Rastin to himself...wondering if the Nothic is still 'listening.' He is also concerned about this spell caster who carries himself quite confidently belying apparent power. Rastin addresses the mage attempting to discern his true intentions (Perception 14) "Sir, these Redbrand confronted us in the streets within minutes of our arrival in this town. They proceeded to taunt and insult us. I even attempted to negotiate with them, assuming we must have misunderstood them somehow, although that did seem unlikely. Ultimately, after further discourteous discourse, there was bloodshed...mostly theirs. We subsequently learned that the Redbrands who inhabit this manor have been consistently robbing, assaulting, and even murdering and kidnapping the people of this town. I know I speak for my companions here when I say that we will not allow any more unprovoked attacks on us or on the people of this town; not from these Redbrands or from you. So, if you truly mean us no harm, please state your name, explain your affiliation with these Redbrands, and state your intentions regarding me and my friends." Rastin studies this mage looking for any sign of deceit or threat.

Rastin notices that the mage is slick, perhaps too slick. But he can't be so sure. Rastin cannot determine if the mysterious man is lying definitively.
The remaining Redbrand, still buzzed from the ale in his system, and foggy from successive blows, wastes no time. He breaks for the southern door, screaming, "Get me the **** out of here!".
He turns his back to Adolmain, attempting to flee.

The Redbrand ducks in time to avoid Solaris' quarterstaff. He runs to Rastin, and in a panic makes two drunken swings:
(Attack 1 - 11 ; Damage if Hit: 3 - Attack 2: 9 - Damage if Hit: 3 )
The Redbrand misses badly and stares at Rastin (b4), with tears rolling down his blood stained face, resigned to his fate.

Adolmain can spot a fraud a mile away, and he thinks he see's one. First, the "glass staff" and he swears he recalls someone referring to a man named Glasstaff as one who has bad intentions. The smooth smile is more like a smirk. The mage is confident however, and does not seem to be overly concerned with a well armed party killing men he apparently is aligned with. And the clothes…clothes paid from the gold of innocents….

Solaris looks at the team he has become so comfortable with and one thing is true Adolmain’s expression is of disdain for this magic user, and if there is anything that is as constant as the sun it’s that Autzen would just as soon as cleave this guys head and shit on his remains for fun. Rastin will give the benefit of the doubt so Solaris makes his mind up that a man that would smile and tell an enemy to kill his own soldiers is not a good man. Solaris speaks “May I strike on the wings of a Zephyr.” And advances to D1 raises his quarterstaff and attacks 23 Damage 6 and follows with his unarmed attack 7 Damage 7

The mage relaxed for a moment, as the parties did what he predicted. A voice of reason from the Paladin, a welcome attack by the Tiefling. But Solaris' move to the mage surprised him. He tries to parry the attack, but Solaris' quarterstaff strike is true, hitting the mage solidly. (HIT - Mage takes 7 damage).
"You fool!!" the man growls, the monotone voice now gone, replaced with a menacing growl.
"Poor Choice. My turn." he says
The mage points his fingers at Solaris - three magical darts emit from his fingertips, each one crackling from his fingers. The three drafts hit Solaris in rapid succession.
(Mage casts magic missile]: Each Dart Damage: 4 = 15 Total Damage)- NOTE: Magic Missile is auto hit with no attack roll or save. According to secondary authorities I roll damage once and each dart does that damage. Mage is using lvl 1 slot for MM (thus no additional darts)).
The mage then disappears to the room he came from, the door closing shut as the weight of the mage against it is gone (mage casts misty step as bonus action)
(manipulated dice roll is because I accidentally rolled too many darts and rolled for each dart - after researching I think I got it right (I deleted the extra rolls and damage).
