"Oftculq kiwzirv" Autzen mutters to himself in his native Infernal, he can't help but be a bit embarrassed at the failed attempt to gain the surprise attack on these disgusting goblins. One way to ease that embarrassment a bit, and that's with an arrow placed squarely between the eyes. Raising his Longbow, Autzen takes aim and fires at the first goblin

Damage Dice rolls not yet available for this section. he then follows up with his unarmed strike Dice rolls not yet available for this section. Damage Dice rolls not yet available for this section.
(OOC: Rolls did not populate correctly but since Nick showed a screenshot from his phone with results I'll go ahead and use. QS 18 hit, 6 damage. Unarmed strike (kick) 23 hit, 5 damage)
Solaris cracks the remaining goblin across the head with his quarterstaff, causing the goblin to bend forward in pain. As the goblin begins to crouch to recover from the pain, Solaris' kick upwards hits the goblin squarely in the face, shattering his teeth and causing the the bone supporting the goblin's nose to instantly penetrate the goblin's brain, killing him.
The party surveys the scene. Two dead goblins, an unopened flask of ale, and blood litters the goblin's watch area. A surreal quietness fills the area, but for the sound of the creek and Autzen's gold coins moving about in his pockets (which he finally secures to eliminate the distraction).
(OOC: I suggest a long rest and the party can presumably resume into the cave (I'll assume you set up camp a bit away from the entrance for safety). NOTE: I will not enforce provisions and eating rules at this point of the campaign as we're learning and still a ton of content to get through, so don't want to slow us down. With that said, once you guys enter a town and such, I'll probably enforce provision and eating rules, so you'll need to stock up on provision or forage for them (and keep track of supplies). I'll just assume you have enough food and eat during short and long rests. After the rest I'll need to know formation as you enter the cave (specific location on map and. how far apart you are from each other, abilities used, spells cast, etc.
Each of you are awarded 25 EXP. May post in any order. Once everyone signals they are going to bed I'll make a post and then we'll do the cave exploration part of the adventure).

”I believe if we are to rest before venturing into the cave, we should pull back a safe distance to where we can still observe the entrance and not be spotted from the trail they use. As I only require 4 hours meditation I would prefer to be up last if that is fine. Keep in mind the longer we wait the more likely our employer will be turning on a spit over a fire with an apple in his mouth.” Solaris will also look over the bodies for anything of value as he now realizes it may be beneficial to have a ranged weapon he also checks out the bow of the goblins.
Adolmain says “yes I worry about the welfare of those souls that have been captured be such evil. I don’t mind pulling flirts guard shift.” Adolmain hopes that during his rest Valdaras provides him with a vision of what lies ahead.
Solaris finds 19 silver pieces on one goblin and 13 silver pieces on another. His eyes move to the shortbow and he grabs it, testing its weight and viability. Each of the goblins also have scimitar. The dead goblins have leather armor, but the adventurers think twice about wearing leather armor basked in the musk, drool and unidentified filth that comes out of the glands of the goblins.
Solaris and Adolmain set up a camp a safe distance from the cave but within distance to react quickly to a threat.
Autzen reaches into his Backpack and pulls out his Bedroll, readying for a bit of forced rest. Although, delaying our strike, makes it increasingly less likely that we'll be finding anyone worth saving in these caves. Autzen isn't entirely sure when goblin's eat supper, but he does know what supper will be... or should he say who.
"Solaris, thank you for the coin. To answer Rastin's earlier question, I'm in agreement with what has been proposed. We divvy up the equipment loot according to need and the coin equally between the four of us. And, if one is to fall, their coin will be split with those who remain."
"Also, I have myDouble-Bladed Scimitarso it matters not who takes this goblin's very common lookingScimitar, besides, it stinks of gas and cheap ale."

Autzen the Arid of House Knight LVL 3 || Tiefling || Fighter "You may beat me, but you will have to bleed to do it"
The companions met just a few days ago in connection with the innocent task of delivering a dwarf's goods to Phandelver for 10 GP a piece. Seemed simple enough, and no party member had suggested that the decision to accompany a caravan was driven by anything other than coin. But alas, the escort mission has been far from "simple". Just today, Autzen, Rastin, Solaris and Adolmain killed 6 goblins. Though young, each companion showed that they had killed before. With 6 goblins dead , one can suspect that this group of adventurers will kill again.
It is an odd group. A Dragonborn paladin who professes virtue, but he calmly and convincingly lied to an unarmed prisoner before dispensing with the prisoner's head. Then we have Autzen, an able Fighter who appears to worship at the alter of wealth and coin. Solaris and Adolmain have proven effective, but death almost visited Adolmain and perhaps next time death won't leave Adolmain so soon. The party doesn't say much. Not uncommon in this dangerous world, but one has to wonder if they'll ever share their past to anyone other than their subconscience .
The party rests through the night undisturbed from physical threats, but their dreams were filled with symbolic adcedotes no doubt arising from the fact that a cave has opened its jaws to welcome them, with goblins and who knows what is inside to show them around. The party suspects Sildar is likely in that cave, though one could not blame an adventurer for hoping Sildar is dead, as life for the human likely is the life of nightmares if he lives. And of course, the drawf Gundren (and his valuable secret) is missing.
The party awakes early morning, breaks down camp and is ready to head inside. What comes next is up to them, and the danger that awaits inside.

I don’t mind leading but we do have this big guy here” as he pats Rastin on his enormous shoulder. “since we have the benefit of this map I would say that entry chamber to the right appears to have a whole that will allow sound to trace throughout the next chamber perhaps if all coin is secure we could sneak in and dispatch any enemy in that room quietly but it’s not likely, and there is the matter of the dogs if that is what they are. I think it may just be best to clear room to room and take it as it comes. Adolmain rear myself and someonelse abreast in front the close behind whoever is left. Any other ideas?”

As Solaris lays out his plan, Autzen breaks down his site and wishes he had remembered to bring some of those glorious ground Elven beans... a hot drink before facing the unknown would be fantastic this morning. And as he contemplates a cup of morning brew, it dawns on him that he's not had a decent bowel movement since they left town. Better to address this quickly... if he is to fall in battle this day, he would prefer his final act not be a posthumous shat.
"Monk, it's as good of a plan as I think we have at the moment. I'll prepare myself momentarily, but right now, if you don't mind, I must take a moment."
With that, Autzen strolls over to the first goblin corpse, pulls down his pants and proceeds to release several backed up meals. "Wmiz vuv xe yiz?" he asks himself. As bowel movements go, most are generally not all that noteworthy, average girth and length, like a half smoked cigar... but this, this was a masterpiece, reeking of something terrible, loose in texture but full formed. Performance4
The fecal matter released without a single grunt or groan, and found it's target, in this case.... the dead goblin's gapping mouth.
Autzen pulls the goblin's clothed arm up and wipes any last bits of excrement.
"Gentlemen, apologies, for that.... I'm ready. I'm happy to take the position suggested."
Pulling his Longbow off his back and into the ready position, Autzen quietly nears the mouth of the cave.
