With the others departing for the house, Chandor finds any excuse to depart the ship and move about the city. The ranger moves about the taverns and docks, engaging in some conversations, but mostly listening in an attempt to hear any word of this nefarious brotherhood.

As the group marches to the house, Carrhae is friendly to the onlookers, going along with them in conversation, but not going super into details about the party's intentions, only saying that "The crew of the Belle is here to help the people of Saltmarsh and enjoy all that the town has to offer." It was true, but Carrhae didn't go into detail, as she knew better than to say that they were sent to Saltmarsh to stop the Suel Imperium from rising up and conquering the world. She merely waves goodbye when the people opt to run back home instead of follow them to the haunted house. "Well, time to get to work." Carrhae closes her eyes and allows the material world to fade out in favor of the divine. Even after losing most of her divine powers, she found that she could still do this. She opens her eyes, looking for any undead or fiends in the area.
Grishkar stared at the house with a tired apathy, "I suppose just burning it down is out of the question?"

Syltra uses her natural abilities to disguise self, shrinking herself by about a foot and changing the color of her skin and hair. It was the same in Waterdeep, and as it used to be here in Saltmarsh, in her childhood. “Less conspicuous,” she explains if asked.
Unsure of herself, and too eager to prove her worth, the young Firbolg will take orders from Carrhae and follow the others’ lead, but will not offer her own opinion. She is silent at Grishkar’s suggestion, and looks to Carrhae for answers.
Whenever she is approached by the locals, however, she comes out of her shell, engaging in lively conversation; though she is good-naturedly evasive about the crew’s purpose here.
Sana snorts at Grishkar's suggestion. "That's the cheater's way out. And not the good kind of cheater. Do we want to clear the outside before heading in? Make sure there's nothing nasty in the greenery?"
Chandor: As you spend the day around town, you witness an event that is fairly obvious (since you got a 10, i'll give you something) Town guards are dragging several arrested fishing boat owners to the barracks, the sailors screaming: "We've been framed! It wasen't us! It was the Brotherhood! We weren't smuggling!!"

Carrhae:Thanks to Acheronian training, not only was your physical strength returned to what it was, perhaps even a bit more efficient, but your divine powers were honed as well. But, you detect nothing as you tune out for a moment.

Kali was absentmindedly crewing on a piece of red licorice and totally not watching Misha workout what are you talking about when Indigo had approached her. “Mm, I don’t see why not. Could help you carry whatcha need and keep and eye out for ya, sure.” Once she finishes her licorice she notifies Erriviel and Misha of her leave with the chef and tells them to not get into any trouble. Once she finishes with the duo she locates the tortle and gives her a confident grin. “I’m ready when you are, chef.”

Wolf had a great time at The Wicker Goat drinking with the miners once they returned. Having been raised by a dwarf he found it easy to get along with them and get some stories going. This is definitely a place he'll come back too. When Wolf returns to the ship he is drunk enough to not raise any qualms about going to a Haunted House as the first team out and even makes a joke saying, *Hic* "We'reze goingz" *Hic* "Tooooz Grishy's" *Hic* "Chidhoodz homzes" *Hic* "Howz nicez." *Hic* With that Wolf went to bed. The next day waking up no worse for wear but surprised to learn he was on this team. However, he accompanied with grumbling to the Captain.
On the way there he kept his pace casual with his hands behind his head as they traveled. He made sure to always keep a person between himself and Grishkar and happily chatted with anyone who approached him. Now bringing along much he had his quarterstaff, some darts, carpenter kit, and a few other things. But no armor, shield, or anything like that. Upon reaching the house he gives a low whistle and comments, "This place has definitely seen better days, lead the way Captain?" Following behind her and sniffing around attempting to get a better feel for the place and notice anything not obvious to the eyes, ears, or nose.
As you make you way into the garden and along the side of the house, something has dug a large hole under the house on the right side. Chandor: "It's that blasted Scarlet Brotherhood, I bet, always seeking to thwart the Traditionalists! (That's the pro smuggling faction) They set up those sailors, I can feel it! Brotherhood musta slipped the guard some false evidence and got those poor sailors in deep waters, I tells ya."
Indigo/Kali: AREA 9 - The Green Market or AREA 15 - The Weekly Market, would have things you might need.
Erriviel: You have a pleasant stroll around town, with a couple of curious glances in your direction, but you weren't able to find anything that could resemble or tie to Xanathar.
It was a beautiful day today, as the Belle was docked in Saltmarsh.
She exercised, ate a few meals, and cleaned up. After inspecting the cannons, and pleased they were primed and ready, she decided to remain on the ship as Officer on Duty while Kali went with Indigo to the market, and Erriviel strolled around town. Misha would spend some time leaning on the deck rails watching the merchants and sailors walk by, do business, and hoot at her. Misha would make a silly face back and laugh loudly as she got catcalled, and paid it no mind. Occasionally, Sloop would pop his head out from wherever he was to make sure everything was OK. She would walk through the ship's halls and verify the structural integrity of parts of the ship and made sure everything was shipshape for the Captain upon her return. She made sure the anchor was OK. She also went to her quarters to make sure her armor, shield, hammer, and glaive were at a moment's ready, in case there was trouble. So far, everything was ok. After making her final round, she sat topside on one of the desks and looked at the notes, map, and other documents regarding the mission and awaited the return of the team.
After nearly falling asleep from boredom, standing at attention at the end of the gangway, Sloop finally popped up with excitement. An idea! Rushing over to Misha, the Officer of the Deck, he whispers a question into her ear, and upon receiving her nodding approval, rushes off board and down into town in a flash.
30 minutes later, Sloop returns back to the Belle, lugging along a heavy contraption covered in a fine silken blanket. Proud as can be, he marches right up the gangway and straight up to Misha, who is still sitting there studying maps and making notes.
“Madam Misha, introducing………” and with a flourish, he sets down the contraption and pulls off the blanket, revealing a gilded bird cage with a bright red parrot inside “….Bloody Mary!” squawks the parrot.
Bouncing around on the balls of his heels, Sloop can hardly contain his excitement. “Do ya like her, Misha? Isn’t she GRAND! I got a buncha food for her as well.” as he drops down a large bag of peanuts next to the cage. “The crew is gonna be pumped when they meet her!”
Grabbing the cage, Sloop rushes down below and hangs the cage from the rafters in the corner of the crew common area. He then proceeds to spend the rest of the afternoon teaching the bird new things to say…
