As the madness dissipates Eldon just murmurs a thanks to Pelor under his breath - his mind still a little uneasy from what just occurred as his feet continue to mechanically walk him with his party. As the screams breaks the night he just looks around and then at Cinna "Agreed, may whoever it is be kept safe until we get there. Let us pick up our pace." His right hand instinctively moved to the handle of his mace ready to draw it at the first sign of danger.
[OOC] Since it is dawn, the speech curse has worn off. A little while before we heard the screams, as soon as Kestrell's speech was back he said:
"GODS DAMNIT, WHAT A FRACKIN' JERK THAT GUY WAS! That was actually dangerous, to send us out here with some of us not being able to cast spells! Did anyone get the name of that Inn? He will never get my business again. And the next time I go past it I'm going to [Tooltip Not Found] some skunk smells throughout the bar area!"
Xavice nods his head harshly in approval, still dazed as to what had just happened to the group. He readies himself for danger, moving silently on his bare feet.
The party ventures down the muddy road, feeling uneasy as they feel a cold and bitter breeze brush against them. They can spot a flock of ravens soaring in the sky, as if they were peering down at the party. After several minutes of traveling, the party spots two silhoutte's in the distance. They can hear a feint cry coming from a man that's lying on the ground, as if his life is being drained from him. The party gets close enough to see that the other silhouette is crouched over the victim as the victim's chest cavity has been ripped open. Blood and intestines are gushing out while the figure is devouring the man's internal organs. By the time the party gets within sixty feet, the man lies lifeless, and the figure stands up gradually and peers over his shoulder. What the party sees is a once noble man wearing tattered clothing. His skin rotten and decayed, and his eyes are pure white. The party has encountered a zombie, and the zombie begins to move forward, getting within thirty feet of the party.
Cinna violently unleashes her Thorn Whip onto the zombie, and the whip snaps into the zombie's torso, and coils around its stomach. The zombie emits a loud, drawn-out groan as Cinna's thorn whip forcefully drags the zombie ten feet closer to the party. He's now twenty feet from the party.
Trogdor has been trudging slowly through the night, his mind still heavy from the dissipating effects of the fog. As he see's the man on the ground, he is immediately drawn back to reality. As Cinna draws the zombie towards them, Trogdor pulls out his sword and charges full steam at the zombie, bellowing out a roar.
Once Trogdor approaches the zombie and is in reach, Trogdor wildly swings down with his Longsword, viciously slashing into the zombie.
Zombie's Con Saving Throw: 13
The attack from Trogdor's Longsword managed to sever the zombie's right arm, and it plummets to the ground with a thud and a small amount of mud is splattered from the road.
OOC: Next is Eldon. Per his private message, I'll roleplay his turn.
Eldon rushes up to the zombie, alongside Trogdor, brandishing his mace. Once he's within reach, and standing adjacent to Trogdor, Eldon smashes the zombie with his mace.
Attack: 22 Damage: 5
Zombie's Con Saving Throw: 6
Eldon thwart's the zombie with a thunderous blow, that causes the zombie's left leg to rip apart, and the leg falls flat onto the muddy road. The zombie is now on one leg, and has its speed reduced by half.
Kestrell runs a little bit to the side of the Zombie and Eldon and Trogdor so he can aim behind the Zombie. As he runs he gives a little inspiration to Xavice:
"It's the time of the season...When love runs high...In this time, give it to that Zombie easy...and let Xavice try with monkish hands!"
[OOC]Xavice, you have 1d6 bardic inspiration die to add to an attack roll or a saving throw (not damage). It lasts for 10 game minutes.
Kestrell targets Faerie Fire about 19 feet behind the Zombie so that only the Zombie is affected by the 20 foot cube range of the spell.
[OOC] The Zombie must make a Dexterity saving throw of 13. If not, it is outlined in a Blue light and any attacks against it have advantage.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zombie's Dex Saving Throw: 18
As the zombie fails the Saving Throw, it now glows a bright color, allowing the next creature to attack to have an advantage on their attack.
The zombie groans from the damage it's withstood thus far, but the battle isn't over yet. The zombie lunges out with the single arm still attached to his body at Trogdor, and swings downward with a claw attack.
Attack: 22 Damage: 3
The zombie ruthlessly slings its head forward and goes for a wicked bite attack toward Eldon.
Attack: 12 Damage: 4
Something odd the party notices is that the leg and arm that were ripped from the zombie's arms, seem to animate and move lively. The severed leg bounces across the ground, five feet away from the party. The severed arm, however, stands upright and launches itself at Kestrell for a claw attack.
