Zed draws closer to death as the blood continues to gush from the impalement. Everyone would get the sense that Zed won't survive much longer if he remains in this predicament.
Urgog looks down at Zed being impaled and grunts. He reaches around and pulls the hempen rope loose and looks at Kestrell. "I tie this around you and we will lower you down to grab him and then pull you both back out so he can get healed. " Looks at Eldon and Cinna, "Agreed?"
Eldon was about to recite a prayer when Cinna cast her spell and stopped "Looks like Cinna took care of it, my domain works best for healing those on the brink." He looks down "Maybe, we should just toss the rope down and let him climb out."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Urgog nods and tosses one end of the rope down to Zed. He hand the other part back to Kestrel, Eldon and Cinna. "Hold tight. Once he grabs the rope, I will start pulling." He looks at Zed and waits for him to grab the rope before pulling.
Normally, a healing spell would rejuvenate a person back to consciousness. Unfortunately, given the predicament Zed's in, the sharp, wooden spikes has impaled his right leg, left shoulder, and lower torso. He's bleeding profusely and the Healing Word seems to be ineffective at this time due to his condition. The party would get the sense that Zed needs to be pulled out from the spikes before any healing will take effect.
Urgog looks at Zed and growls slightly. He takes the end of the rope and ties it around Kestrells waist. "We will hold you to keep you from falling in. Grab him. We will pull you out." Urgog braces himself and looks over his shoulder to see if Eldon and Cinna are ready before lowering Kestrell. "Eldon, you may want to ask your god for assistance with keeping him alive."
Kestrell sees that Zed's in imminent danger, he decides to take matters into his own hands. Despite Urgog's plan, Kestrell grabs the rope and he tries to climb down himself rather than allowing Urgog to tie it around him for assistance. Kestrell wasn't quite aware of how challenging this task is, he loses his grip on the rope on the way down and slips. He falls into the pit and hits the sharp wooden spikes. Everyone else hears Kestrell wail in agony while taking 15 damage from falling into the spikes.
(OOC): Kestrell was at 12 HP lol.
Despite the spikes being facilitated by Zed's body, Kestrell also gets impaled in his left thigh, right arm, and mid torso and he falls unconscious from the damage and the blood loss.
Kestrell's hands slip from the rope, and he begins falling. He hastily reacts by brandishing a feather from his component pouch and shouting the verbal incantation to cast Feather Fall. Kestrell's gradually descending through the air, and sees an abundance of sharp, wooden spikes and Zed's body. Kestrell needs to make an Acrobatics check to see if he can land safely.
If I land safely, I'll rush over to Zed and gingerly pull him off the spikes, maybe get underneath him and push him off. Athletics: 17
As I struggle to lift Zed, I'll utter some words of encouragement, hoping he can hear me and feel inspired even though he is unconcious: "Zed, Zed, don't be dead! Hear my words and use your head!"
If he can hear me, he gets 1d6 bardic inspiration to use in the next 10 minutes on an ability check, attack roll or saving throw.
Kestrell is able to land in a spot within the pit that isn't being occupied by a wooden spike, and he doesn't land on top of Zed. The space is packed and he doesn't have much room in order to pull Zed out from the spikes. He gets the sense this will take quite an effort that he may not be able to accomplish on his own.
Despite Kestrell's best effort, Zed is still impaled in three places throughout his body and is bleeding profusely. He cannot be stabilized or healed until he's pulled out of the spikes.
