Coming from a small farm village on the outskirts of the province of Eletar you have being sent by the village head to find out why recently the taxes leveled upon your village have become so steep and are now requesting to have members of your town as part of next months tithe. As town with a very small population this is not feasible, so you are in the capital to attempt to find out what as changed and to fix the situation for your home.
As you enter the town through the northmost gate late afternoon you pass 2 guards who are talking about the filth of the peasents in this town and how grateful they are they are no longer one of them. The guards are in rich red cloaks and there is a glint of armour underneath. Passing the gate you see that the town is very run down and there are gaunt and sick people passed out and lying in the gutter. Most windows are boarded up and most shops are closed.
*corvus looks to his friend after entering the gate*
"let's find our way to the main hall, that should be where the the lord should be, we'll just go in, ask to speak to the lord, find out about these tiths and sort everything out"
"yeah i agree. but i dont know what were doing here. this place looks poorer than our villiage."
i scoff and look around hoping to see any form of wealth

you see that one person that has closed in is a female who is wearing basic black clothing and she has markings all over her arms, she has long black hair and you make out that the man is similar looking but less markings
"how about you give us 1 gold and I don't carve off those tattoos"
I roll for intimidation (but on phone so can someone toll for me)

You walk to the centre of the city and pass through the main city square, as night closes on the city you see that lights are everywhere, in windows all along the street and every house is fillied with lamps and torches. however noone is outside and noone can be seen in the buildings you reach the castle on a hill above everything else and have a porticullis blocking your entry.

Odasto sees that there is not only noone in sight but there is also guards on the walls or in the watchtowers and the porticullis is heavily damaged from the inside. The gate looks lik its made of wood but it has renforcements on the inside of solid steel

A younger man is sprining up the hill behind you and looks like hes begining to panic
WE NEED TO GO NOW, FOLLOW ME, AND RUN
he leads you down the hill and into a house 3 streets over from the main square and ushers you inside with haste and then slams the door and bars it, then slams a heavy wooden cabnit across the door and is now doubled over from exaustion

"what the **** was that all about, who do you think you are?"
odasto glares at the young man.
"you better give an explanation before i carve one out of you"
