Remus sighs. He will go and try to confront Hafkris. He will be using his shackles and chains as a weapon. He gets off the ship. He hopes someone is willing to come with him, but does not really care if anyone does. Remus scans his surroundings (Perception: 19)
Waiting for Lyle and Nicholas to make their way back to the rest of the group, Denethir casually glances towards the opening, and does a double-take as Remus starts making his way onto dry(ish) land. "Wait, you fool! He will most certainly cut you down without a second thought if you parley with him on your own!"
Shouting back through the ship, and hoping he can be heard over the wind and rain, the half-elf requests the others exploring the rest of the ship hurry back. "Make haste, some of our colleagues are getting somewhat adventurous this end of the vessel."
As you approach Hafkis, you can clearly tell he is drunk, wearing studded leather and armed. As he turns at the end of his walk, he notices you and stops. “Eh, some of the meat survived. Well, I’ll remedy that right now.” With a little bit of a lurch, he draws his longsword.
OCC: I’ll give everyone tonight to respond, roll initiative and begin combat in the morning…
Denethir follows Remus, slipping onto the sand and rocks below the ragged edge of the ship. Out of the corner of his eye he spies Lyle attempting to flank the slaver. Ignoring the meat comment, he attempts to talk down the drunk lurching towards them, putting on an air of friendly authority.
"Hafkris! My good man, clearly there is no requirement for this vehemence. Sheathe your weapon, and perhaps we can work together to liberate ourselves from the shackles of this situation. What say you, outnumbered friend?"

As someone mentioned before, I've a few points to add to the persuasion roll should we be taking background (noble) into account.
Still watching from the ship as Remus and Denethir approach, the dwarf mutters quietly. "Foolish boy."
Glancing back towards the galley, he spots the heavy crossbow. He moves quickly, suddenly spry as he fetches the hefty weapon, cradling it awkwardly in one arm as he collects a large handful of bolts. "Girl. Be ready to get me more. Things may get bloody."
With that, he shuffles back towards the gaping hole, slowly loading the weapon with fumbling, nearly numb fingers. As he nears completion, he looks back to the remaining survivors on board the ship.
Janey nods her head in solemn understanding and places her hand on the girl's knee. "We all want to go home."
As the others begin to gather to confront Hafkris, she rises and gathers an armful of crossbow bolts from the aft hold. As she passes her bunk to head toward the open bow, she too arms herself with her manacles.
“It’s not my specialty either,” Nicholas replies, grabbing 3 crossbow bolts. He eyes the dwarf, raising an eyebrow skeptically, and says, “But if it’s too big for you.”
Initiative: 10
Nicholas comes to the hole in the side of the ship and looks out. Spying Lyle, he will move quickly and low to the ground, joining Lyle in flanking Hafkris.
Janey raises her eyebrows at the dwarfin mild disbelief. "My hands are fairly steady, but I can't support a weapon that size." She gestures to her small frame. "You would likely have a better chance than me of hitting Hafkris with it, but I can keep passing you bolts as long as you need them. I'll do anything for the best chance of sending that degenerate to his grave."
[ooc: just confirming, is the distance from the ship to Hafkris about 30 ft?]
Eurim will hold his action as a ranged attack with the heavy crossbow until he thinks he has a clear shot at Hafkris (as in, not bodyblocked by any of the other surviving slaves).
The half-elf comes to the conclusion that their captor is too drunk to be haggled with, so slips the large wooden splinter he picked up into his left hand, and moves slowly away from Remus, in order to encircle Hafkris.
Move 2 squares north, ready an attack with the splinter if attacked by Hafkris
As the fight starts, a slender, but wiry, bald young man is washed ashore clinging to the oar he'd been manning when the boat foundered. Lusith will take a moment to look around, and seeing his fellow former slaves converging on their tormentor, will try to move quietly up behind him, fists raised.

Lyle runs back to the others. “Well... this’ll be interesting.”
Lyle tries to sneak down hide among the rocks, and find a couple good size rocks to throw at Hafkris should it be necessary.

"It's not the size. It's the aim. And where do yo-"
The dwarf cuts off as Nicholas scurries past, ducking around low rocks.
"Crazy... foolish... torn apart."
He looks back towards the halfling and human girls still on the ship. With a slight sigh, he steadies the heavy frame against part of the wreckage.
"If either of you have steady hands, now would be the time."
"Don thank soo, poien errs," he slurs drunkenly, "Gonna be a ned'n ta coin yal bring."
