Eurim's definately notices a seem between the bookcase and the lower half which has been crusted over by wet, salty air. The stones in front of the bookcase also have 3 small dips were rollers or wheels would allow the bookcase to move forward and away from the wall.
Strength 11
With Keestake's and Ruki's help you attempt to pry the bookcase away. Though the javelin bends under the strain and you hear the protest wood straining, you fail to break the locking mechanism before the javelin slips, sending you, Keestake and Ruki clattering to the floor.

Denethir
Glancing back, a smile of relief crosses the half-elf's face as he sees the group getting somewhere with the door, only for him to glance back a second time to see a pile of limbs writhing on the floor.
"One more good push ought to do it!", he says, as he attempts to gauge how close the imminent threat is.
Though hard to judge, they are definitely in the northern half over the mansion, and coming up the hallway somewhere around F. But there are sounds even further away.

Nicholas looks about for a way to help. He settles on first casting Mage Armor. Then he runs to the door and looks to the bend in the hall and will cast Minor Illusion adding realism to the illusory form by adding sound (using Improved Minor Illusion). He will create an image of a large floating skull, cackling loudly as they approach.
if there is any time left, he will run back to the bookcase and investigate it for a latching mechanism at the top, if they don’t have it open.by then. Investigation: 6
OCC: Since I don't know how to do quadruple advantage... Lots of things happen quickly. As the "enemy is at the gates" as it were, and descent is going to take time we will run this as combat... Initiative (descent order) is up to you (excepting Keestake).
With the sound of old nails being ripped from wood and a steely clang the bookcase comes away from the wall and crashes to the ground with the sound of armageddon coming in the little room.
In the distance Denethir hears the high pitched squeals of goblin delight from the sound. Casting his illusion, he returns to the group.
Where the bookcase used to stand a large iron hook and latch as been torn from the back of the bookcase, and rotted ropes used for pulling the case back hang uselessly.
In the floor is a 2x2 ft, brick lined shaft which descends into the darkness, rusted iron rungs lead downwards. Keestake, jumping up and down with glee, he immediately begins the descent into the total blackness.
Eurim picks up the crossbow and tucks the javelin away, hopefully for later repairs as possible. Without hesitation, he bumps Ruki on the shoulder and starts down after Keestake.
"Make haste everyone, Lyle and I will descend last."
Standing just inside the room, the half-elf clutches his coin and again whispers to his Patron, "My lady, I again require your assistance." The coin begins to suck the very light from the room around Denethir, until he is completely obscured by the magical darkness, which extends out to fill the corridor, as well as a portion of the room.
OOC - Cast Darkness, centred on the top of Denethir's head.
(Assuming we’re playing fast and loose with material components here, if not, the Nic’ll be just as blind as the rest...)
Nic will flick his hand, whisper something, and absently rub a stick of wychwood he shoved in his pocket on the way from the chapel, and four orbs of light will shoot out and head down the shaft, illuminating the space below them. Dancing Lights

Mentally thanking his Patron, Denethir flinches as two arrows miss him. While the goblins are not able to see him, the half-elf finds that although he is aware of the darkness, he is able to see the goblins quite easily through it. Clinging to the rusty rungs with one hand for a second, he aims a blast of eldritch energy towards one of the archers before continuing downwards.
