Erric remembers the dry rations in his backpack and runs back out to a decent farmer's cart to pick up some fruit and vegetables to supplement the hard stuff.
He's ready to leave, and will pepper Ebokk with questions about his father, the ship, what his mother had to say about the trip, if there is anyone in town to ask about this pirate, etc etc upon his return.
He'll also ask Bosun Grout about the wreck, the island, the area, yet again, forgetting that they've had a faint version of the conversation he's envisioning in his head, where Grout tells him useful old secrets and some spooky fables about the wreck.

Once back at the ship, Maldorn engages in some nighttime fishing before calling it a night. All the talk about preparations gave him the itch for angling. If successful, he feeds some raw fish strips to Sagitta.
Jambiya will Help Maldorn with Sagitta, by translating.
Then she will see about the watch order. If crewmen are standing watch, she will gratefully sleep. If not, she agrees with Maldorn, and will gladly take a shift, probably the last one, since she is used to waking up early.

It's harder than Erric thinks to find a cart offering the kinds of fresh foods he's looking for. It's a busy day on the docks, and he ends up having to almost leave the district before he finds a couple of vendors. It takes him a couple hours before he is back.
OOC: Erric, keeping the same pricing, subtract 5 silver per a "day's ration" of whatever you bought. And Ebokk is off at his mother's until the next morning, so you can't interrogate him in the evening.
Erric finds Grout and begins questioning him about the second leg of the trip. The huge man appears to be working very hard to be patient with the small bard. He answers all of his questions to the best of his ability, saying it will take approximately a tenday to reach the island, which is west of Baldur's Gate. He admits they don't know much about the island, except its location.

Maldorn has great success in his fishing venture and pulls in enough for supper and breakfast to feed everyone on board.
Sagitta isn't sure it likes raw fish strips, but Jambiya convinces it to try them, and it eats some politely. (Maldorn, did you have a sex in mind for your snake? Keeping it gender neutral is rubbing me the wrong way.)
The sailors are more than happy to let the Seldomites keep watch overnight. Nothing happens. In fact, those keeping watch are surprised at how there is a low amount of activity going on all night on the docks. A few city guards are also seen patrolling at intervals.
The next morning, Ebokk arrives just in time for breakfast.

(Erric will also purchase two flowers from a vendor, doing his best to haggle down the price [vanilla d20 roll: 18; persuasion would be +5] for something simple but beautiful. If he can get a small potted flowering plant, he'll pay for that, with the same haggle roll.)

"The fish must be hungry tonight!" Maldorn celebrates.
Overnight, while keeping his watch, Maldorn smokes one of his regular cigarettes, still not fully convinced about the fancy-named tobacco he bought in the city. He even wonders if perhaps he was swindled, confessing to Sagitta that he feels that way. Pushing that thought aside, the old man tries to teach his snake how to drop a bitten item (like the golden coin before):
After a quiet night, he greets Ebokk with some fish, proudly announcing that he was very fortunate with last night's haul. "But fish don't keep well, Lecock, so eat up!" he says, inviting their patron to the breakfast table with a smile.
(@DDP: Sagitta is a boy. I think I referred to the snake as a "him" a couple of times already, no?)
Unless it's raining, Anafrey falls asleep on the deck of the ship, sipping her fire wine and staring up at the night sky. She gets up late and snags her breakfast from the galley, and finds a dark corner to eat in.
Jambiya will bring some sunny disposition to Anafrey's dark corner, along with her own breakfast. "Good morning 'frey! I'm sad to be leaving Waterdeep today, but to be honest, it's a bit overwhelming, too. So lucky we had Erric along to show us around. Though, you know, people are people the same all over. Not that I've seen too many of them. Mostly either adventurers come to meet Pops, or merchants don't have time to meet new people on an overnight stop. That's why it's been so fun to spend more time with you all. How's your breakfast?" She'll give it a bit of a warming and flavor it a little to Anafrey's liking (she surely knows what that is from working at the inn).

On his way back to the Nightshade with his fruits and veggies, a little dwarf girl catches Erric's eye. She is dressed a little shabbily, but appears healthy enough. She has a bucket at her feet with several long-stemmed flowers lining the edges. In her hands are a few of the blooms. She watches the face of each passerby, trying to make eye contact. When she sees Erric looking at her, she smiles brightly at the bard and gestures with her flowers. "Buy some flowers, sir?" she asks in a sweet voice. When he cheerfully responds with an inquiry as to the price, she tells him they are a glint a piece (1 cp). The flowers appear to be wild flowers.
OOC: Basically D&D's versions of daisies, coreopsis and anemone. She doesn't have any plants. Do you want to ask her if she knows where you might buy one?
When Maldorn begins teaching Sagitta to drop the coin, the snake appears ready to learn, but it will take a few lessons before he truly understands what his new master is trying to teach him.
Ebokk is just as cheerful returning to the ship as he was leaving. He gratefully joins everyone for breakfast, though he only takes a little of the fish, explaining his mother made sure he enjoyed a sumptuous breakfast at home before leaving again. After breakfast, the ship's anchor is hoisted and the oars are deployed until it is safe to raise the sails again. With Ebokk at the wheel, Bosun Grout making his rounds, Gramps and Scrub performing various duties on and below deck, and the twins below deck attempting to get a little sleep before their night shift, the Nightshade resumes its course for the unknown island where, hopefully, clues about the pirate Flindbar will be found.
Erric buys out the bucket (up to 20 glints?), politely thanks the girl, and brings them back to the ship. He gently places two on Anafrey's slumbering form. He flourishes a bunch to Jambiya, saying with a small smile, "I looked for a plant, which I thought you'd like more, but maybe you can do something with these? I thought you'd like them."
He gives one each to Ebokk and the rest of the crew (if they're working, he'll stash one in their hammocks). Maldorn and Sagita each get one, with a nervous smile. He'll keep the rest of himself, weaving them into his hair. He's still gently going to ask Ebokk more questions about the ship to see if he learned any more from his mother.
Maldorn thanks Erric for the gift. He ties a knot using the flower's stem around his longbow, choosing a section of the weapon where it won't affect its functionality but might still bring him some of that halfling luck he heard about. Sagitta bites on his flower gently but steadfastly. Maldorn tries to put it away eventually but fails to convince the snake to drop the flower. "We'll need more lessons before you can fully fetch..." he realizes.
With the ship back at sea, a strange thought comes up in Maldorn's mind. He waits until Anafrey is alone, perhaps looking out at the horizon, and approaches her with a cigarette in his hands. "Iceshiver-me-timbers, call me treacherous if you will, but last night was perhaps our only chance at learning a bit more about our benefactor while he was in his natural element. I hope I am wrong, but something tells me that visiting family was likely not all he might have done in town. For that matter, we might have wanted to spy a bit on that gnomish lady too..."
Jambiya will smile warmly at Erric when he presents the flowers, "You are so kind, Erric, to have thought of all of us. I love them." She will take her bunch and smell them, then gets a strange look on her face, and smiles somewhat enigmatically. "Thank you!" and she skips off to the bow. Once there, she will sit and close her eyes, the flowers up near her face, where she can feel and smell them. The little green girl will sit there a spell, then swiftly stand and cast the flowers into the sea.
OOC > She's still trying to figure out who or what she is, and what this tree woman in her dreams means to her, and so she's made an offering of sorts to her, to the sea, to the wild nature spirits, and whatever. Basically, she's casting a wide net.

When Maldorn approaches Anafrey she is looking out at the horizon and swaying gently from side to side, seeming to follow the gentle rocking of the ship. As Maldorn speaks, Anafrey looks deep into his eyes and nods profusely after every few words. When he trails off she replies, "Yerrr a treacher-*hic*-treacher-o-us hunter all right." She sways more widely and waves a finger in his direction, hiccuping. "But if we go to ssss-pie-spy, we *hic* better be shhhhhhhhh quiet, Maldorn. Shhhhhhhh quiet. Oooh do you think we'll get pie?"
Erric stands there happily watching Jambiya thank him for the flowers, and then walk to the bow. When she throws them into the sea, he continues to stand there, frozen. Then he looks down at his hands, silently turns around, and walks away, head down looking at his feet, finding somewhere to think.
"We... we should talk another time, NIcerivers..." Maldorn steps away from Anafrey, feeling a bit of regret regarding the time he picked to approach her.
Erric, you're able to buy the girl's remaining 40 flowers for 20 glints. When you first propose the idea, the little girl looks sad at receiving half price, but then you explain how she will be able to return home a little early tonight and show her parents how many flowers she's sold today so quickly. You're very convincing, and she happily exchanges the bouquet of blooms for 20 glints. When you ask Ebokk about his visit with his mother, he says he found her well. She was glad to see him and interested to hear how he had found the landing party to assist him on the island. When you ask about the ship, he says the entry wasn't forthcoming with information about the ship, but that it specified the flag, which was associated with Flindbar.
When Ebokk is talking about his mother, he doesn't appear to be completely truthful. In fact, he seems to be hiding a bit of sadness.
Flowers: Gramps seems genuinely thankful and touched by the gesture, tucking it into a shirt pocket to display it. Scrub looks at the proffered flower and back at Erric with a slight grin as if he's waiting for a punchline. When the bard encourages the sailor to take the blossom, he does accept it gingerly, mumbling a confused thank you. Erric never sees it again, and so doesn't know what happened to it. Grout refuses to take the flower, turning and walking away from Erric without a word. Later that evening, Erric asks the twins if they found the flowers he put in their hammocks. They tell him that they had, and make a big show of saying thank you, but Erric can see they are making fun of him, especially when their eyes fall on the flowers woven into his own red hair. Ebokk, like Gramps, is thankful for the flower, and, like Erric, weaves the stalk into his beard, so the bloom is displayed a couple inches below his mouth.

Maldorn also keeps an eye on Anafrey, trying to identify a good chance to approach her when she has full control of her senses. After a few failed attempts, he decides it is perhaps not worth it. Another close eye is kept on Ebokk, for any suspicious activities.
Finally, he also dedicates some time to teaching Sagitta to drop bitten objects on demand.
