"If Az was capable of getting the ghost out, it wouldn't have gotten in in the first place. This is going to take some old fashioned religion." Dustfinger commits to using the blunted edges of his double scimitar. Nonlethal Toby/Toby Time!
You're an idiot and we dont even know what you are 20% of the time you are only weakening Az by attacking him and lowering our chances of success if you attack him again I will end you. I obviously have a plan and foresee him getting out of this so there is no need to attack full force before he even gets 1 chance to break free in which if or when he does it would have done no negative affect to the group instead you just did a negative affect to the group.
Hymir warns everyone to back off and let Az Emberi fight the ghost off, then proceeds to back off and let Az Emberi fight the ghost off, unaware that Az Emberi is unable to fight the ghost off, no matter how hard everyone backs off.
Fjolnir rushes to try and at least keep him from doing too much damage, 10 and succeeds in holding him still.
Dustfinger blunt-edges the wolf-man to significant effect with his Toby/Toby.
Hymir chastizes Dustfinger for hitting a party member, but in hindsight, he probably thought that Az Emberi had another chance to fight the ghost off if they had just backed off, which he does not, so... you know.
Dirk, Absinthe, and Yours Truly as Az Emberi are up.
Round 3: Ghost Guards

Dirk magically puts Az Emberi, and only Az Emberi to sleep.
Absinthe runs over and applies the manacles to the now unconscious 3-eyed wolf-boy.
The ghost removes itself from the sleeping body. 6 And attempts to possess the frightened Absinthe. CHA Save DC 13 at Disadvantage. 4 Just before the ghost disappears into Absinthe to take control of him, Hymir realized he had seen this in his dreams, and Absinthe forces the ghost out of him, retaining control of his own body. The ghost screams and glares at Absinthe, then fades into an ethereal outline and moves back to the top of the ledge. (The ghost is still visible in the Ethereal plane, but not tangible)
Hymir, Fjolnir, Dustfinger are up.
Round 3: Ghost Guards
23- Hymir (Bardic Inspiration) 17- Fjolnir (Concentrating on Hunter's Mark) 14- Dustfinger (Mirror Image: 3 copies) 7- Dirk 5- Absinthe (Frightened by Ghost) 4- Az Emberi 16/31 (Gone Wolfy, Asleep) 4- Ghost Taken 41 damage, Looks rough
The ghost moves toward the now visible Dirk, phasing back into reality in an attempt to slash with its spectral blade. Before it closes the distance, everyone holding an action unloads on it in an overwhelming display of arrows, sparks, and insults. The ghost wails and fades into nothing before anyone is harmed further.
Combat is over.
Dustfinger and Absinthe are 30 years older than when they started. While this doesn't affect Dustfinger too much, as he is still young for a half-elf, Absinthe went from a spry young thing to a man with lines on his face betraying the years he gained all at once. His joints hurt for no good reason sometimes, he has less skin elasticity, and he can no longer trust farts.
You each gain 400 XP from the ghosts and opening the trapped door without it blowing up in your face. Your current XP total is 4138
Visibly stressed, Fjolnir un-pins the manacles from Az, removing them and agitatedly tossing them at the floor. "Gorm's pucker, this place is straight-shit!" Mocking the Necromancer with an toothy and sibilant voice, "You can keep anything you find I just want to look at it." He spits and shouts, " `e's nearly got us KILLED!", and kicks the manacles. "Awright there fellers? Absinthe, ye look tired- that puff that keeps the dead for pets.."- Fjolnir takes a pull off his waterskin and breathes with labor, "..he needs ta take a look at ya to see if somethings wrong. I hold him accountable for what we stepped in here..."
I don't think we were misled. It got very fucky in here, but we chose to come in here. Hell, we even had a choice regarding that last encounter. Though I don't think anyone could have seen this coming. Next time we are in town, I'm going to a library. Knowing that a good nights rest is coming, and Az will be awake any minute... unless magical sleep leads him into a regular slumber, I attempt some basic medical care of his wounds. No mo ghost farts, you.
Did you see the way that spirit lunged at me? I think I got under his metaphysical skin.
For everyone that is not Az
I liberally apply grease to Az's shillelagh, not trying to hide it.... snickering.
"Yea, maybe so- but he didn't say anything about ancient no-withdraw vaults an guardian ghosts and spiders that blink..." Fjolnir continues to re holster gear and compose himself, barking right over the sleeping dog, "...like nothin in this place will let you hit it square."
"I lost my youth somewhere in this blasted cave!" Absinthe scowls, then mutters vulgarly as he hobbles around the room looking for his lost year.
"If I didn't know any better I'd think one of you whipper snappers stole it?" Absinthe gives everyone the stink eye. He scratches his head in contemplation, then reaches to scratch his balls... "WHAT THE SHI... Oh there they are! My balls dropped again, though I lost them for a minute there!"
